Did you happen to watch the Oscars?

I did. I enjoy watching the Academy Awards. And this year was looking for a sense of normalcy.

My favorite of the night was the TOTAL package on actress Margot Robbie. The after Covid new look makeover, makeup, the gorgeous gown and more! Oh and that hair I wanted more, more and more! Those bangs and side fringe were so red hot gorgeous!

I loved ❤️ loved ❤️ loved Viola Davis’s look too. That dress fit her like a glove and was so sexxxxy!

What did you think? Who was your favorite look of the night?

Did you at least peek at the show or watch a pre-Oscar entertainment show?

The makeup, the fashion and more?

It certainly was different and more down to earth and one like we’ve never seen before. Wasn’t it?

The metallic hues, shades of red, white & black and sunshine yellow on Zendaya who glowed it it. Loved the sparkle and the glowing Royal blue on Glen Close.

Pink 💕 was certainly another attention getter even the men got in on that color with a chic hot pink suit.

Brad Pitt’s man bun (I hate that term) looked tres handsome to me. And his skin was tawny and I liked his body toned suit.

Most wore accessories that were simpler and MEN got in on the jewelry action. Chains and rings. And who knew we’d see Crocs footwear and the Oscars.

Frances McDormand always makes me sad. She’s won a lot if Oscars and is a good actress but her dark, long, drab choices of clothes make me blue!

I just wish she’d at least wear a lipstick 💄 and do something with her hair. and while I live in black and love and wear bold color clothing too. I just wish we could see her look more vibrant one day soon.

And as always I wish I was there to use some Asian powder to blot up their over the top facial glow. And retouch their lipsticks and add a touch of lip balm on the men. Dry, parched lips never look hot or good.

Your thoughts? Do tell.

Got a blemish tonight?

Date night at home or social distancing I know it is annoying. Especially if it is red, raised and about to pop! Not very handsome or sexy.

So, here’s a quick rescue you can try and do.

Photo by Polina Kovaleva on Pexels.com

What ever you do TRY not to pop it. Pretty please …It will only make it worse and red or uglier.

BUT if you absolutely must …do this.

Place a wet warm wash cloth or flat cotton pad on the blemish. Let it rest at least 5 minutes.

Next,I use a couple of cotton swabs to opposite sides of the zit. Apply light even pressure. If you happen to feel pain or discomfort STOP. Don’t push your luck!

*If you happen to squeeze it all out a dermatologist recommended to me to use a dab of over the counter Neosporin after you do.

Now, rinse your face with a soap and clean warm washcloth again and get some clay like a mask or a powder clay you mix with water. Place a nickles worth on the blemish and leave on for a few hours (OVERNIGHT if you don’t have date tonight)

I find the clay is my absolute favorite remedy to do! it tones down inflammation, the redness and discomfort and makes it practically disappear. When I have to be on TV, guest speak at luncheons or am going out on the town. This is it. Works like a charm for me.

Happy Earth 🌎 week!

Now that Easter has come and gone there are plenty of sales on Easter candy, plastic eggs and more!

Go stock up and pick up some plastic eggs and eat a few on sale Peeps along the way!

I love to repurpose, ♻️ recycle and reuse!

How about you? Do you like to be eco-friendly and love Mother Nature too? Do you live and love Easter 🐣 decorations and candy too?

If you use beauty sponges or blenders and don’t want to spring for an expensive travel holder for them. Use a plastic egg instead!

Protect your beauty sponges!

Make sure you buy the eggs in a few sizes to play with what ones will work for your sponge type and size. I like the ones with the tiny holes on the end. But if you can’t find them buy and use the other type.

They keep air circulating, to store them “on the go” or to store at home if you’d like. The eggs protect the sponge and keep it clean you and you too and no messy makeup fingers! Until you get a chance to wash them. As a professional make-up artist I like to use them on set on location too.

Are you wearing any makeup? Full makeup?

Are you focusing only on your eyes?

Or are you just doing skin care under that mask?

Photo by Shiny Diamond on Pexels.com

Beauty Rescues you need!

These pandemic days are taking a toll on our spirits and SKIN.

So I have put together a few things to buy and use to rescue your skin and make you feel and look better.

Social media and looking down our iphones 📱 are wreaking havoc on our neck and we are getting what they say is TECH Neck. If you don’t want your neck to continue to look beyond the years you are buy a neck cream. ASAP! I recently discovered one called the A Method by Doctor Tina Alster. You can even use it on your decolette and crepey skin on your arms. This doctor means business when it comes to treating the skin. Some of the ingredients include:Trans retinol, caffeine, glycerin, copper gluconate.

It us a nightly tightening, toning and firming treatment. A basic moisturizer simply won’t do! You need a product that targets the issues. This neck treatment is for ALL skin types. Guys too!

Eyelashes looking wimpy? Are you going to sleep with mascara on?

Blinc mascara just launched a new mascara called UltraVolume Tubing Mascara and it is a game changer. They are the ORIGINAL… …Don’t’ paint your lashes TUBE them mascara. I just started using it and love the natural yet volumed look. As a owner of sparse lashes that are far from long and grow straight out. I SEE a difference immediately. And it removes easily with lukewarm water and a washcloth.

Nails and hair lacking luster? Skin looking dull?

Try Gummy Glows by NEOCELL. Since adding these dietary supplements to my day I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair, nails and skin. Also Beauty Bursts are chewies if you want to nourish your nails, hair and skin too. Collagen is one of the beauty secret ingredients.

Makeup fading and melting?

TRY Luscious + True’s Spellbinder makeup setting spray. A makeup setting spray that works up to 16 hours.Rosewater and pineapple juice make it a botanical delight!

The fashion the beauty the thrill of turning the pages and discover what’s next.

l LOVE love, love, love magazines!

How about you?

But call me old school I prefer them in hard copy printed form. Not on a device. It’s just not quite the same.

Spring Clean that Beauty Clutter

Time to start spring cleaning for your home and for your beauty routine. I know what some of you are thinking it is cold and snowy outside but here in Florida the birds are churping and it is getting HOT. It was so cold but the azaleas are in full bloom. One day it is 80 degrees the next it is 30’s.

When you can try and take some time to clean out the “beauty clutter”.

Photo by Anderson Guerra on Pexels.com

Choose a drawer, a shelf and more and explore. One area at a time. Lay out all of your things and go over each product or item.

How does it look?

Does it smell?

Are you STILL using it?

When was that? How long? If you can’t even remember maybe it’s time to throw it out!

Is it really really dirty?

Bacteria is doing the samba on your beauty, skin care and makeup tools. Think about throwing them out or wipe the containers down with rubbing alcohol and tap water. Wipe down the mirrors with a glass cleaner too.

Go ahead and do the same to your makeup brushes and sponges too. After you do place what you no longer use in the garbage and WASH your makeup brushes and tools with a makeup brush balm or brush cleaner.

If things are broken, mirrors have a chip or crack you might want to replace that product or buy something new to replace it too.

Still in the midst of the pandemic we need to keep all things super clean! Don’t take a chance with your health.

I mentioned this brand and sanitizing case before but maybe it is time you add a SterileLight disnfecting case to your home or office life. Great for beauty, skincare, makeup brushes, tech tools, iPhones and so much more!

Worth a look at: http://www.SterileLight.com

Clear the air and let spring in!

The bottom line when it comes to beauty clutter and your beauty space or shelves is to know when to throw them out!

Isn’t it time for a beauty refresh?

Free yourself and your space!

The last time… I saw New York City

The last time I saw New York City was a year ago this week. How about you when was the last time for you? Or have you never been to NYC.

I was filled with hope and excitement honored to guest speak and educate at the the one and only International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference as well as the International Beauty Show. Hair stylists, make-up artists, estheticians, massage therapists, salon owners and spa owners come from ALL over the world to attend these shows every year! I love ❤️ this show and look firearm to the excitement on the show floor too!

The city truly never sleeps and there is so much to explore.

The hustle and bustle of the NY airport ✈️ there has such an exciting vibe. I hailed a cab and got in ready to work and play.

I eventually stayed out until DARK and never looked back.

Photo by Sanaan Mazhar on Pexels.com

It was a cold but glorious sunny 😎 day with a gorgeous view of the city on the horizon. And headed to the hotel. I am from the city and travel for work and play but it never feels like work nor do I ever get tired of NEW YORK CITY.

Once at the hotel I checked in and started to unpack in my room making plans for dinner and fun that night before my class the next morning. I got a text telling me to hang tight that the show will not be going on. I knew this was serious news.

The Javits Center the convention area where our shows are held were going to be turned into a triage for those sick with Covid-19. The virus was In the US and nipping at NY’s doors. It was all so surreal and hard to take in. I couldn’t believe what was really happening.

I did not know how THIS would change my NEW YORK as I knew it and enjoyed it for all these years.

I arrived and was armed with sanitizing wipes, alcohol and other disinfecting travel supplies. But there was no protocol for face covers or masks and none to be had even if we wanted to buy them. YET! We were very very careful from our airplane seat and tray table cleaning to washing our hands often wherever we went.

My husband and I decided to leave the hotel and grab a drink and a bite and gather our thoughts on how we were going to handle this all. How can we check out since we were booked their for days and how do we change our flights without a penalty last minute?

I did NOT want to frighten myself and go in panic mode so we did the next best thing. We went out and enjoyed the city! Who knows when we’d ever be flying to or enjoying NYC again? Right?

We ate at a Jewish Deli and restaurant we always wanted to go to called 2nd Ave Deli.

We bought some bread treats in Little Poland,

We ate all kinds of warm nuts from street vendors.

We visited the the new Hudson Yards and The Edge, we stopped and shopped at different stores and bars.

So many places to shop and explore. You never know what you will find. We just kept on walking and soaking it all in.

Every corner in NYC and its boroughs is filled with such wonder to explore.

The Vessel
My husband insisted on taking this photo… as the iconic phone booths are being removed in the city.

We SPED shopped some skin care/makeup stores, beautiful boutiques and Macy’s, Bloomies, Saks and more!

I even bought us fresh fruit from markets, decadent pastry & flowers to bring back to the hotel room.

I love to stock my hotel room with fresh fruits, breads and a sweet treat for my stay.

I stocked up on my favorite fashion and international beauty magazines from my fav’ news stand.

We enjoyed dining at a charming place named Veselka (a Ukranian/Polish) eatery in downtown Soho section where WE discovered fabulous food, great mom and pop kind of business and a place they use to shoot scenes for movies and also seen on SVU the TV show.

Yum!

Minutes from the city I had planned to see my family and surprise them with our visit but since I was in the midst of it all I did not want to spread anything to them.

I am so glad we made the decision to stay and enjoy all of New York that we could. In a strange way you might say…it was one of the best days of my life!

This trip, this time in my life would be making history. I did not really know how our lives and for people all over the world was about to change and NEVER ever be the same.

Where were you right before quarantine?
