I just love ❤️ the beauty of learning something new every single day!

Here’s my final tip as we end this month.

As we move forward still in uncertain times with this pandemic still with us. I hope you will reflect and start to think about upgrading your self care Take care of yourself better than before and above all take time for YOU!

I know our day to day lives and family and work gets busy for us. But what I realize even more so is our mental, face and body health are very very important. Since we can’t get out and do ALL the things we used to be able to do! Start with the little things that you can change or do. Stay positive. Keep in a happy place. Keep going!

So, make a plan…

Start a new skin care regime.

Give yourself a glowing golden glow! Just for fun!

Get a new haircut!

Try some new hair color even if it’s just the tips of your hair.

Play!

Discover a new fragrance to add to your collection.

Time for a change? Switch it up!

Update your nail game and buy some new nail lacquer hues!

Find a new shade of lipstick to add to your life!

Day 30 of MY Beauty Secrets

DON’T pick at your pimples! No matter what try and stop the urge. Not only does it spread bacteria 🦠 but it can cause scaring.

Always seek a Deep Cleansing facial with an esthetician.

If you don’t have money to spare or you don’t feel safe getting a facial now. At least ask an esthetician’s for a product recommendation to take care of your skin. Most likely like me they would recommend a salicylic acid to heal.

Don’t make your skin worse. Be careful. It’s the only face you’ve got.

Don’t squeeze those zits!

Day 29 of MY Beauty Secrets

If you D.I.Y. color your hair at home and I know many of you are with the uncertain times were in. You need to be armed with not only the box of color but this! Vaseline is a gals or guys best friend in so many ways!

Apply a thin layer of Vaseline at your hairline. The petroleum jelly will form a barrier so the color doesn’t seep into the skin and creates a protective barrier. YOU DON’T WANT your face and skin to be shades of red, brown, chocolate and or a pink hair color hue. Stay safe and protect your skin too.

PS

In a pinch and don’t have any Vaseline? Try a bit of coconut oil and apply it the same way.

Day 28 of MY Beauty Secrets

As you know you shouldn’t go to sleep with a full face of the days makeup on!

Photo by iCapture Studios on Pexels.com

I see there are some girls and women who are wearing a full face of makeup under that face mask. You wonder how I see their faces? It is usually BEFORE they put their mask on in the parking lot. Or I see the eyes, forehead or sides of the face around the face mask.

But there are also many of you are turning only to eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara or just false eyelashes on…you need to make sure you remove ALL of that nightly. Don’t get so lazy that your skin will suffer or worse yet you get an eye infection.

So, two things you must remember to do for eyes.

False eyelashes need to be removed nightly.

Place eye makeup remover onto your lashes for six seconds or more and then remove by pressing gently and wiping it all off. I prefer using cotton rounds. Repeat the same for eye makeup. Don’t tug or pull on your lids and lashes. Please!

Also be careful to alternate between basic mascara and waterproof mascaras. Over time your waterproof mascara will destroy your lashes and maybe even a loss of lashes.

Remember your eyelashes need a bath too! There are a few new products on the market to do just that safely and without destroying your lashes.

As a professional make-up artist I have seen it all through the years. Be gentle. Eyes need to be treated well and with lots of TLC love. They give you eyesight daily. Treasure them. Protect those eyes and eyelashes.

Day 27 of MY Beauty Secrets

I “hide” my brows behind my bangs. I’m fine with that. This way I don’t have to worry about filling them in. I wasn’t born with the best nor fullest brows!!!

I can’t say other women do this. Some women simply have fabulous brows they were born with. While others fill in their brows with a pencil, brow tint, a gel or brow powder. Many women are having the latest trend done…Microblading.

But whatever you do when you pencil or fill in your brows. Brush them afterwards! Sounds so simple! But many women don’t do it. Don’t leave the pencil in a stencil/ template kind of look.

You NEED to soften the look and set it. I like to use rice powder on my clients brows as a beauty trick. It makes the hair and tint you filled in look more “natural.” (It is totally translucent) I brush it on over the brows.

And they look good and brows are set, soft natural looking and are good to go!

Give it a whirl girls!

Day 26 of MY Beauty Secrets

It is a pandemic and it is taking a toll on our face, hair and body.

So best thing for you to do is drink some smoothies for your skin and enjoy the beauty and nourishment from within. Your hair will shine and look sublime.

Have you tried juicing at home?

Once you start you don’t want to turn back! And it’s so delicious and good for you.

I love to make all kinds of juices with my juicer and with my blender. I love shopping the farmers market, roadside stands especially in the summer and buying fruit and veggies from Asian markets too. The exotic fruits are so fun to explore.

Exotic fruits are so fun to shop for!

Here’s one of my many favorite recipes !

Fresh & Tropical Delight

1 Banana 🍌

1 papaya

1 pineapple 🍍 slice and skin temoved

1 orange 🍊

1 glass of coconut 🥥 water

Blend well! Enjoy this healthy tropical delight! Embellish with an umbrella and sip away and pretend you’re in the tropics.

Bonus:

Another favorite drink of mine is to make a simple recipe fresh carrot 🥕 juice.

5 fresh carrots. Tops cut off

Leave the skin on DO NOT peel for it is filled with minerals and vitamins.

Add a small piece of garlic and a a touch of ginger. Even better.

I love to make them with coconut water too!

I try to make and drink fresh home-made juice and smoothie weekly. Get to know all the beauty from your garden and get a healthier start in the new year.

My yummy beauty secret.

Day 25 of MY Beauty Secrets

Do you use eye lash curlers?

I so love to use them too! They are my lash BFF. But do you ever really clean them? Do you? I professionally recommend you do.

Here’s why:

1. Bacteria is growing all over it! You don’t need an unwanted eye 👁 infection.

2. The rubber head strips get filled with mascara gunk!

4. Eventually your Eyelash Curler will need replacing. But in the meantime please remember to replace the rubber band strip inside. It doesn’t last forever!

5. If your lash curler isn’t curling like it used to and mascara isn’t looking the way it used to. Throw it out. Buy a new one.

Wash 🧼 your eyelash curler regularly!

A simple recipe:

Soap and warm water 💦 with a sprinkle of tea tree oil in clean water at the end. Rinse. Towel dry. Allow it to dry on a paper towel overnight.

Clean and disinfected and ready to … CURL!

Day 24 of MY Beauty Secrets

Today while running a few quick errands I came across two women I could not stop looking at! While the were waiting on me at the cash register I was mesmerized by their lovely personality! They really seemed to love their job and happy to even have one.

I also noticed a high frost all over one of the employees faces. She shimmered, sparkled, glowed, gleamed, glimmered and looked like as shiny as the TIN Man off the Wizard of Oz movie. It was everywhere!

Inner corners of her eyes, up her nose, on the tip of her nose (She did not cover her nose with her face mask 😷 properly) and all over the apple of her cheeks. Her brow hairs even got in on the shimmer action! She too was a lovely pretty young woman who clearly overdosed on the makeup. Mainly foundation.

My beauty secret here is ALWAYS make up your face with good lighting or a sunlit window. Blend, blend, blend. Less is truly more!

And if you don’t feel like you are good at doing your own makeup 💄 or feel you’re not sure of the color choices that are right for you! Consult a beauty or skincare PRO.

When it’s safe to get an appointment for a makeup lesson. As most of us professionals are following CDC guidelines and not doing face to face or Lip 👄 to lip 👄lessons.

Play with highlighters and shimmer with caution and a soft touch!

I think she has been watching a lot of YouTube videos! The makeup distracted me from her true beauty.

My next stop the girl had so much foundation on even with a mask. Her forehead, cheeks, lower jawline and neck I could see on all sides of the face. Her foundation was a Tan Orange. I so wanted to blend that down or give her a complete makeover right there on the spot.

YOU can look pretty in your makeup!

A little bit of color goes a long way!

But sometimes you simply need a helping hand.

Day 23 of MY Beauty Secrets

As a professional Make-Up Artist I use products and things in different ways. I love being a creative and thinking outside the box, circle and square.

Lashes

When it comes to mascara and the beauty photo shoot or the client calls for a natural not caked on mascara look… I use a Tinted Grooming Brow Gel on the lashes instead of a true mascara. It adds thickness and color. But the lashes look totally natural.

Another product I like to use is a CLEAR Brow gel on the lashes and not just the brows. Colorless and natural my clients love ❤️ both the looks.

Day 22 of MY Beauty Secrets

As you cozy up for bed tonight I know you take your pillow and smoosh it on all around your face and bed during the night. We’re all tossing and turning and living in our bed more. Right?

But did you know your pillow case can make your skin look bad?

Is your skin is acting up?

It may not just be your “maskne” from wearing a face mask. It may not be a flair up of acne and dehydrated flaky skin. It probably is your dirty or not so fresh pillowcase. Smell your pillowcase. Check out the sheets as well. If it smells funky and looks dirty. Time to throw it in the wash and start fresh!

How often do you change your pillow case?

It is important to change your pillow cases. And often! I change my pillow case two times a week. And in the summer I might change it three times a week. Doing this will make a difference in your complexion.

Get into the habit and enjoy having healthier looking prettier skin.

Here’s to Sweet dreams and healthy looking skin,Beautiful!

Change your pillow cases & sheets often!
