TAKE IT OFF!

IMG_2418

I lOVE to play in my kitchen either trying out new recipes or whipping up some fun with beauty products and make my own creations. Over the summer holidays and partying we tend to forget about removing our makeup and crash out. But please don’t do that!  Your skin needs to be cleansed at night even if you didn’t wear makeup that day.

So, if you are looking for a little fun today or tonight and D.I.Y. try this easy step skin recipe.

3 tablespoons Aloe Vera gel ( I prefer it from a fresh plant)

1 tablespoon of Jojoba ( The brand Aura Cacia makes an awesome one)

1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil (I LOVE the Whole Foods brand)

  • Now here we go. I warm a small amount of jojoba in a pan on low heat. This will happen in seconds.
  • Next, I add the coconut oil and stir some more. A add the aloe vera gel. Turn off the stove top.
  • Stir these ingredients well and pour in a round (big mouth jar) preferably a  glass jar or mini bowl.

Enjoy! Refrigerate any leftovers to keep the cleanser preserved until next time you use it.

Like everything this has a shelf life so use it up quick!

This recipe makes a Gentle Makeup Remover that softens your skin and removes makeup at the same time. Use a mini scoop or mini spatula to apply it to your palms and remove your makeup. Then wash your face with your fave gel soap cleanser  or soap bar made for the complexion. Not a deodorant bar. Your face deserves the best! The deodorant bars are meant for your under arms and other body parts. Your face deserves TLC attention with the right stuff.

Please note: if you are allergic to any of the ingredients don’t use it in this recipe.

Your skin will love you… If you’re into natural beauty this plant based complexion treat is for YOU!

By the way, if you’d like to make this with a touch of fragrance try adding a sprinkle of your fave’ essential oil. My go to and fave is lovely relaxing lavender…especially before bed.

Sweet dreams and prettier healthy looking skin!

OOPS!

Beauty disasters or beauty dilemmas no matter what you call them they are not fun when they happen! Here are some common problems and my rescues.

You’re doing the last finishing touches to your eye makeup and you decide since it is date night with your husband you want to add a bit more for sexier bedroom eyes.

You add a deeper shade on the outer corners of the eyes and dark specks of color drop down under your eyes and face.

Beauty Solution:
A q-tip dipped into a dash of your cream concealer can pick up that mess fast. Just don’t rub it in, pick it up and cover it at the same time.Next, blend with a pointed sponge and a dot of more concealer.

Next time use Shadow Shields before you apply your eye makeup.I call them baby bibs for under the eyes.

You wear a fierce colored lipstick or liquid lipstick and that shade of bold and sexy is running out of the lip line. You don’t typically like to nor have the time to apply lip liner.

Beauty Solution:Keep a clear lip liner in your cosmetic bag. You apply it like a regular lip liner and yes it is invisible to the eye but works wonders at keeping the lipstick in place and not run all over your face.

Your stylist or spa waxes your brows and you are all red afterwards.

Beauty Solution:When you get home add a few drops of aloe from a fresh aloe plant. If you don’t have an aloe plant in your kitchen you’re missing out on a beauty essential. It is cooling, soothing and tones down redness too.erfect no mess application.Aloe vera gel by the bottle will work nicley too. But I love to go natural!

After you’re done with your face always do a double take in the MIRROR and a well lit or sun lit area.

Beauty Solution: So many women make the mistake of not applying a light dusting of powder over the foundation to set it. Use a loose or pressed powder with a light weight brush. (But you can use the puff)

This is also needed when you apply blush the two do not lay right nor look good on the skin. Always set your foundation or tinted moisturizer first with powder and when you apply blush go over it again dusting lightly to smooth out the edges too.

But please don’t be a powdered “cake face” as a little goes a long way.

Hot Red Mess!

aloe ice tray
I was on TV on a Morning Show again last Saturday and wanted to share with you a recipe from my TV segment.
I showed “Beauty rescues for beauty dilemmas”.
It is so hot yet people continue to play in the sun and strive for that sun kissed golden glow. But sometimes that fun in the sun turns into a HOT RED MESS sunburn. Your skin is on fire and you need to cool it down.

First doctors recommend taking an aspirin to cool your body heat down. If you can’t take aspirin ask your doctor about another form.

Next, BEFORE your skin really starts to itch and peel you need to take some inexpensive Aloe Vera gel, CVS DRUG store will work fine. It does not need to be expensive. Take an ice cube tray and fill in the empty cube section with ALOE Vera gel. Make sure it’s fresh and NOT last years bottle from your medicine cabinet. Freeze over night or at least a few hours. Pull out tray and check to see if is ready when you are. They freeze in my freezer pretty fast for me.

On clean skin apply the Aloe Vera ice cube and rub gently on affected areas.
It can be used on the face or entire body down to your toes. This is not only cool but will make your skin feel AMAZING and cool the heat. It will also help stop the chance or limit the time you have peeling, dry or itchy skin from the red sunburn.

I love Aloe for that unexpected KITCHEN BURN too and keep a fresh potted plant growing of it near my kitchen door.

Clear Aloe Vera gel can also act as a face primer when you have a burn or allergic reaction to something. I have even used it around my eye area. A little dab will do you.

This magical plants gel can also be used to help fight acne.

Aloe Vera gel is said to be good for insect bites, scalds and to heal blisters from our sky high stilettos!

Aloe Vera juice is a great stomach soother and if you have ACID REFLUX it can do wonders for your digestive tract. It also helps people with stomach ulcers, constipation and has detoxifying effects.

Buy a plant today and keep healthy the natural way!
