All Eyes on YOU!

If your practicing social distancing and doing the right thing by wearing a face cover or mask your face is not fully seen when you are out and about. That is why your eyes are NOW the center of attention. Here are a few tips I shared on TV yesterday that you might want to consider and ADD to your EYE beauty routine.

Quarantine Fatigue is a real thing I have it too. We look tired even if we got rest. bUt you can do something about it. GUYS can do some of these tips too.

Refrigerate your eye gel or eye cream. It will FEEL so cool and refreshing when you apply it.

Cucumbers DO work when you place those thin slices on each eye and close your eyes and take a quick nap to rest. Bye Bye Puffy stressed out eyes.

Buy eye masks made of gel or paper or in capsule form…they are filled with ingredients to hydrate, calm and brighten up the eyes.

Experiment with a salmon or yellow concealer. Tap on a few dots under and around the eyes. Pat and blend in softly with your fingers.

I think and always  say “An eye lash curler is like a BOOB Job for your lashes! It lifts them and curls them and is great to use even if you don’t have mascara available. Especially if you are out of your fave mascara.

If you don’t want your mascara to run and smear down and around your eyes…Try Blinc mascara. They say “Don’t paint your lashes tube them.”  The brand does NOT run and you won’t have racoon eyes either. Defines the lashes nicely and removes the tube coating  on your lashes with warm water and a washcloth. Unlike any other mascara you ever tried.

OR use a CLEAR mascara for definition without a tint.

As for wearing eye shadow try wearing a single color like a matte nude, champagne or soft gold hue. Don’t fuss with lots of color. Just add this to highlight your eyes.

Line the eyes with a cocoa, gray, or blue. I live in a creamy gel pencil eyeliner. But I love to define my eyes in this color. If your eyes are deep set or you have tired looking appearance you might want to steer clear from black. Just keep it simple. Especially for the day and the times were in.

I hope you enjoyed these tips and tricks just for your eyes!

Take care of yourself NOW more than ever.

Pandemic Beauty Relief!

If you are looking for a little BEAUTY and skincare relief  you are in luck. Today on TV in sunny Florida on WJXT-4  I shared a few ways you can do this. You’ll feel so much better too!

Is your skin extra oily, lifeless and a few zits got you down?

Got to a drug store and buy a sheet mask. It is a mask that is in a sheet form and goes over your face. They are filled with skin loving goodness and will make your skin look amazing. Instant gratification.

A charcoal or detox mask is black and will help control sebum which comes especially when we are under stress. Buy one of these if your skin is oily or shiny.

Please Note …they also come in a jar and you can apply it with your hands. Let it dry and rinse well. Your face will love you!

If your skin is dry or you have normal to combination skin you need a hydrating sheet mask. These masks just cost a few dollars and work wonders.

Moisturized skin is HAPPY skin!

Don’t forget to moisturize your skin. Not just some days but every day. Face covers we have begun to wear are drying to our skin and lips! So PROTECT both your face and lips.

Lips ๐Ÿ‘„ NEED love too.

Use a Vitamin E lipstick or balm and kiss your lips morning and night with it. It’s clear and mighty and you can go to sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด with it on!

If you’re going CRAZY for a haircut (like ME) DON’T cut your hair or over pluck or shave your brows…WAIT to see the professionals. That’s why we go to them they are the PROfessionals and we can make your hair, skin, nails, lashes and face look fabulous AGAIN.

Instead condition your hair with a hair treatment mask. Great for dehydrated stressed hair.

Finger nails looking rough? Nails cracking? Chipping?

Use a cuticle and nail oil. If you can’t find one at the store grab a bottle of olive oil from your kitchen. Pour into a squeeze bottle and nourish those cuticles and nail beds.

At home most of the time doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the beauty of a lipstick ๐Ÿ’„ or lipgloss. A little kiss of color goes a long way. So swipe away and brighten your mouth and your face!

Hope you enjoyed these tips. We’re all in this together… and we’re all looking and feeling a little frayed around the edges.

Have a beautiful day!

America will look beautiful again!

Nailed It!

The latest trend that snuk up on me is one a client told me about! I just had a nail party with my fingers and toes in my hotel room with a thing called Nail Strips. The Brand name is Color Street nails. What fun!

Here are the deets:

Dry Nail Polish Strips ๐Ÿ’… Who Knew?

๐Ÿ’ฏReal nail Polish

No dry time, no smudges or streaks!

They come in glitter, solid hues and fun nail art designs too. Also available for pedicures.

They are like applying a sticker.

Lasts up to 10 days!

Removes easy with nail polish remover. Preferably with moisturizers.

My absolute favorite is “Tokyo Lights” which is like a rose gold on steroids. So sparkling and gorgeous! I also am in love with Charmed and Dangerous which is a lip ๐Ÿ’‹ theme and pink polish nail strip. So ME!

It took a 5 minute learning curve for me.๐Ÿ˜œ But I did it and it was so fast and pure fun!!!

I hope one day you’ll explore and get all dolled up with them!

PS

Another friend test drove them and shared with me it does not come off easily. She just birthed twins a few months and has a  toddler too.She said it lasted with diaper changing, washing hands, cooking cleaning, bathing …SHE was amazed at the superior performance and the gorgeous hues they come in.

Is YOUR Skin Acting Up?

Is your skin feeling tight, dry, have a bit of red patches and flaky? Is your skin acting up?

You’re not alone. It is the fall season and headed into the dreaded cold long winter.

This morning I will be on TV on The Saturday edition of the Morning Show on WJXT4 you will find today’s video link there later this morning. http://www.news4jax.com

Here are the deets on skin care right now:

Is before you moisturize you have to make certain that your skin is exfoliated. CURE Natural Aqua Gel has got you covered. This I have a feeling is going to be my new beauty go to a friend told me about. One bottle is sold every 4.5 seconds in Japan. Girls and women can’t get enough of this gel. No chemicals!

Keep calm and moisturize on. Your skin needs it now! Keep a large bottle or jar handy in your home or at your desk or add a travel size one in your purse. There are so many to choose from. There is no excuse for not using moisturizer. *Even oily skin needs it!

Don’t wash your face with deodorant soap.enjoy the beauty of a goat milk soap Beekman 1802 in honeyed grapefruit is my fav’!

The skin on your body needs LOVE too. TherapiSpa has some deeply moisturizing lotions for hands and body.

Repair Balm Balm by Eminence Organics can rescue your red irritated skin. Or choose the Aveeno with oatmeal.

Kocostar Eye Rescue mask capsules are the latest and greatest serious to give you the 911 for your skin. Eye areas need moisture too. But NOT moisturizer you use on your face. This delicate area needs an eye gel or a mask.

Besides the above Aveeno has a body wash that you can use in the shower or bath. Bye Bye to feeling very dry and itchy and red skin. It too works wonders and is gentle.

Got fly aways and having a bad hair day? Your hair needs moisturizer too. Give it a treatment with not only conditioner but a hair treatment too.

If your skin needs EMERGENCY relief NOW and FAST.

Try any of the face, lip, eye area and body care with a sheet mask or a gel mask. Not only are they the latest trend that isn’t going away. They REALLY work.

Got a beauty or skin care question? Just ask.

After a day at the beach or in the sun!

It isn’t all you expected is it? The first few  or time back in the sun after winter is tough. on your skin. Especially when you don’t bring your BFF’S. A sunscreen, sunglasses and lip conditioner. SUNBURN that dreaded look and feeling after a day or two in the sun. You aren’t sitting pretty!

The #1. thing you should have done was throw out last years or expired sunscreen or sunblocks. You need a fresh one! Please don’t forget to reapply not just apply once and think you are all set. You’re NOT!

2. Protect those PEEPERS and wear sunglasses. Squinting causes wrinkles and your eyes themselves need sun protection. Your lips need some love to with a lip balm.

3. Once you’re burned by the sun and outdoors…you need to rescue your skin! But calm down I’ve got your back!

Try a yogurt …plain fluffy Greek yogurt. You can make your own (I will share how you on another TV blog) get some store bought. Apply to your skin like a face mask. A thin coat will do. leave on and rinse well. Add moisture back to your skin! Apply your fav’ moisturizer and face cream.

*Yogurt is a legendary and easy remedy.

4. COOL the burn on your skin with milk on a flat cotton pad or gauze.

5. IF you own an aloe plant…grab a leaf. Cut it open and apply the gel inside on the skin. Great for peeling and itchy skin too. Or fill an ice cube tray with aloe vera gel (found in drug store) and freeze. Roll a cube on the burn and cool down that skin! Aloe plants make great plants for outside your kitchen door. OR in your home. Easy to maintain. Good for kitchen burns while cooking too.

6. Add moisture back to your skin! Soothe your skin further by applying your fav’ moisturizer and face cream. My latest aloe find is Therapispa aloe lotion for the body and the face cream.

I hope and know you will find these skin rescues for your skin useful.

Enjoy a healthy dose of the sun ๐ŸŒž this summer!

*Sharing these tips on WJXT4 on River City Live this moring. You can cacththe video clip later today online and watch anytime!

Happy Galentine’s Day!

Yes it is a day! Made-Up in recent years but still another reason to celebrate LOVE and friendship with your gal pals, besties or even family.

Yesterday I featured on my beauty and lifestyle segment on TV ways to do just that. Grab a cup of coffee and tea and enjoy my blog with an easy D.I.Y. There is still time to throw a mini soiree. For two or for 12 besties. If you can’t do it today. You can always do it Valentine’s day or even a day over this weekend.

1. Invite friends you want to celebrate with via text, phone or email.

2.Create a theme. I like the beauty or pajama party type theme.Decorate accordingly or choose LOVE as your decor with hearts and more.

3.Think of the treats, food and drink you’d like to serve.Make a list and go get it. (Serve in disposable glassware, plates and silverware to keep it simple)

4.Examples Menu: Who doesn’t love chocolate? Get a box of chocolates or even a bag of Hershey’s Kisses. Add something sparkling.Maybe a mini cake, cheesecake or cupcakes sprinkled with lips or hearts. A pitcher of spa water:Try fresh mint and lemon water.

5.Pick up swag to giveaway. It doesn’t have to be expensive.I found the cutest mirrors with red lips at a local dollar store. Who doesn’t love a treat to take home?

6. I gather up a few ideas for conversation and to Kiss & MAKEUP. Lipsticks, eyeshadow, nail polish, fragrance or you can go as far as K Beauty sheet masks and lip scrubs.Share beauty secrets and beauty faux pas and laugh the afternoon or night away.

7. I also like a fun game. I pass around a framed piece that says” What the way YOU USE your Lipstick says about you”. Girls can’t wait to dig in their purse for their lipstick tubes to see what their tube says about them.

I hope I have given you some inspiration for a little gathering with friends and celebrate! I’d love to hear what you come up with. Talk to me. Share with me.

You don’t need a man to buy you a box of chocolates. TREAT YOURSELF!

Planning a Trip?

IMG_2879.JPGTis’ the season to vacation and or maybe just a getaway even if it is just for a weekend.

As I fly for business and pleasure often I have learned a lot through the years.

The number one thing is to make a list on what you want to pack and what you want to take. I like to make a list. Then I start pack what I need and buy what I do need. Some tings I remove after packing some things stay. Pack according to the trip you are taking. A two day beach getaway is different than a trip to Europe for 2 weeks.

Lighten Up!

  • Travel with smaller sizes or kits. If you like the IMAGE brand and are a fan of their facial treatments you’ll love to know they have travel kits. Sunscreen included!
  • Or you can buy small containers and fill them with what you want to take. Examples: sunscreen, foundation, moisturizer, hair spray and more.
  • Pack things in smaller zip lock bags of various sizes. NAIL POLISH and some other liquids will open and spread all over the place like on your clothes so keep them contained.Personally, I pack a back up bottle of nail polish (in case my nails chip and needย  a touch up) in my purse NOT in my luggage. I take it on the plane zip lock bag that has any liquids I want to take.

I’ve even had this happen to me when traveling in the car. Keep nail polish and liquid foundation upright and in a sealed plastic bag.

  • Choose a color theme for your makeup wardrobe. Don’t bring ALL THE MAKEUP you own and think you have to have with you. Examples: pinks and plums, nudes and bronze and so on.Don’t take every makeup brush you own either.Keep it simple.
  • Pack a mini FIRST-AID kit and more filled with aspirin,band-aides,Tums,nail file, mini clippers, toothpicks and sewing kit. YOU decide what you want and may need.Don’t pack your medicine in your luggage you check in. Take it with you on the plane.
  • Bring snacks for the plane. You never know how long you may sit on the runway. Cheese and crackers, bananas, nuts, gummy bears or mini chocolate bars. I’ve been waiting for take off for up to 3 hours and had no food or drink. Until you are up,up and away you need to have something to snack on.
  • I like to travel with an empty bottle of water. I fill this when I get in the airport after security or when switching airplanes. I use the fountain with filtered drinking water next to the water fountains usually depending on the airport you are at. Water bottles are expensive and you can pay up to $4.00 a bottle. This bottle comes in quite handy.
  • Pack your medicine and beauty supplements wisely. No need to take the RX bottles with you. (label the contents in the pill pack.)
  • Bring a scarf to wrap around you if you are cold on the plane. They don’t have blankets for everyone unless you are in first class.
  • Down size to a smaller handbag. That big Birken bag or other purse may be nice but by taking a smaller bag you will travel lighter and love not having to carry so much with you!

I featured the above and more on TV today. If you want to watch the video go to http://www.news4jax.comย  click on River City Live.
