The Beauty of being a TWIN!

Once upon a time there was a lovely woman who gave birth to a set of twins. After the twins had been delivered the Dr. quickly came into the room and said to the woman “You have two babies. One is a healthy baby girl and the other is a form we do not know. We recommend you put him in an institution.”

My mother quickly replied…” God gave me two babies and I am taking TWO babies home. I am so glad she did! I am a twin to that handsome charming boy and I couldn’t be prouder!

My twin was born with Down Syndrome. He is a VSP!Twins Kissing

MY…Very Special Person!

Today is our Birthday and since he passed away our birthdays do not get any easier. In fact it is a day I need to smile more and handle myself with TLC.

Norman was laughed at,treated badly and ignored by the universe and by people he came across daily. They stole his little read wagon several times when we were children. I hated the way he was treated and not readily accepted.

He was the kindest, sweetest and SMART guy. He loved music,Sci- Fi  movies and a huge Star Trek fan! You should of seen the look on his face when he actually met Captain Kirk  when I took him to a Star Trek Convention. We were of humble means but he made our family rich!Every day of our lives!

You know the THEME song in the movie the Titanic? That’s all I can think of …my heart is so full today and my heart will go on and on.Until we meet again.I truly miss him.

Next time you see a person tall or short, young or older who has Downs…introduce yourself they love meeting new people!Say Hello and you just might meet a new BFF for life.

*Get to know the person NOT the disability.

If you don’t want to look older before your age…START a beauty regime and use a beautiful beauty secret…

A SUNSCREEN.

Want to lose elasticity, get more wrinkles, drier skin, sunspots, red splotches uneven skin tone and MAYBE get skin cancer…then you need to use it even more. This month is Skin Cancer Melanoma Awareness month. Be street smart! Be sun smart be careful guys and gals. As much as I love the sun and sunshine rays you need to be aware and BEWARE.

A day at the beach, riding a bike or taking a hike ALL need your TLC and skin love.

MY mantra ala Noreen Young says “Give your skin a hug with sunscreen.”

Your skin does a lot for you…LOVE it back!

Please…Don’t judge a person by their face!

Have you passed someone with Downs and smiled at them today?
You don’t know what you have missed.
October is  National Down Syndrome Awareness month.People born with Downs are bright, friendly and the kindest people you will ever meet. They would give you the shirt of their back if you asked for it and needed it. Don’t judge a book by its cover.
I know firsthand. My twin was born minutes before me and had Downs. What my family learned is something money can’t buy.
Make a friend today. Smile when that special person looks your way. You might just meet your new BFF.

They are the beautiful people not just celebrities~ Color your world with all kinds of  people~
