As a professional Make-Up Artist I use products and things in different ways. I love being a creative and thinking outside the box, circle and square.
Lashes
When it comes to mascara and the beauty photo shoot or the client calls for a natural not caked on mascara look… I use a Tinted Grooming Brow Gel on the lashes instead of a true mascara. It adds thickness and color. But the lashes look totally natural.
Another product I like to use is a CLEAR Brow gel on the lashes and not just the brows. Colorless and natural my clients love ❤️ both the looks.
I have lived a wonderful life and have learned a lot of things and enjoyed many beauty secrets in my life but BETTY ! Beloved American actress Betty White turns99 YEARS YOUNG today!
I have followed her career and have so enjoyed watching her on TV and in other places through the years. What I have learned that she continually says is her beauty secrets (Besides good genes) and living a long happy, healthy life and they are not necessarily found in jar on a beauty shelf.
They are simple and unique to say the least.
VODKA (She loves a good cocktail)
Hot Dogs
PB & J sandwiches
Other Betty White Pearls Of Wisdom that she and I share too are:
Laugh More!
Have a sense of humor!
Avoid complaining!
Keep Busy!
Exercise your MIND! She’s become addicted to crossword puzzles. She can’t seem to put them down.
Stay POSITIVE!
I LOVE TO WORK!
So, I think we ALL can learn a few lessons from Betty White. Although they say she will be spending it in our pandemic quarantine and staying safe…I raise a Bloody Mary glass with vodka and toast to BETTY today!
I’m certain she is spending it well in her own special way!
Were already into the new year and I KNOW some of you have made new year resolutions, some of you may have not kept those resolutions and some of you have not even made any. That’s OK!
We’ve already had a crazy start to the new year!
But I think its a perfect time to refresh our makeup and and start fresh with some new skincare. I know you’ve heard it all before but we have to throw out our makeup and skincare at some point. It doesn’t last forever and now with Covid we have to protect our health, skin, eyes and body even more. Bacteria is doing the salsaon and in our products. So, get Stay healthy and get beauty smart and learn a few new ideas I have for you. This week on TV I am sharing with my River City Live TV viewers in sunny Florida Step by Step ways to do this.
Here’s a sneak peek for you.
Step 1. Pull out all your skincare and check each bottle, tube and jar. Ask yourself when was the last time you used them? Yesterday or a year ago. Once opened they lose their potency and quality of the ingredients breaks down. Next how does it smell? Pretty or pretty ugly? Or no scent. Are the tubes closing properly or are de-funked.You decide. The point is if it smells bad or OLD or doesn’t close tightly it should be thrown away.
Step 2.Do the same to your makeup. Put all your beauty on the table. Check if your liquid or cream foundation has an odor OR if it looks different. Are your compact or eye shadow mirrors broken or the glass chipped? Lipsticks smell weird? I realize some of you Beauty Lovers will need to do a round or three of this exercise since you own so much beauty booty. But it is important to do it!
Step 4. When you are ready so shop and time and your budget allows. Create a Beauty Shopping List and start browsing and shopping to add some some new things to start with a few new things. Ask for samples if the brick and mortar beauty store has any or the online site you are shopping at has samples. Look in current magazines you subscribe to for free sample inserts inside. They have turned me into a buyer once I tried them.
Shop on!
Step 5. Now make a list of what you might need and go shop! Brands are not all the same. Choose wisely. Some will take a little play and experimentation to see if the brand you buy agrees with you and your skin. Especially when it comes to skincare. Also some cheap $1.00 store and other type stores where the price points are really low should proceed with caution. Some makeup brands and certain colors like a purple hued eye shadow kit may have allergic reactions on you like itchy red eyes. Be careful if you have sensitive skin.
Check out your makeup brushes!
Step 3. Next go over all your makeup brushes and sponges. They too are breeding ground of bacteria and need cleaning, sanitizing and or replacing eventually.
Step 6: Since the pandemic I am even more cautious when it comes to makeup and skincare I wash my personal sponges and brushes more often. I also have added assorted spatulas on my vanity to apply my face creams, masks and other products with. DON’T double or triple dip into your creams. This contaminates your product after even a bit of time. So, I highly recommend you do too. Also ALWAYS wash your hands before you do your makeup or clean your skin.
*NEVER share Makeup! Even if it is your family. Don’t give your used or old makeup to family or friends. Stay safe and healthy! Throw it out.

*Have you heard there is a NEW makeup bag that has just launched in the world of beauty that is anti-microbial?
Electronics, travel bag, child toys, baby bottles and pacifiers and more. You can even use it on the tray on your next airline flight to protect yourself even further.
The other day I was test driving some new products someone sent me as a gift. I applied the eye cream and facial moisturizer to a clean face that night.
In a matter of five minutes my face freaked out. It seems that something In them were not agreeing with me. My face didn’t want it on either.
I quickly took a wash cloth filled it with warm soapy water and washed my face. I removed all the products.
Next, I pat dried my skin.
I went to my kitchen and poured on a cotton round some whipping cream. That is all I had. I carefully applied it to my face and pat soothingly across my closed eyelids.
Milk or Cream for the Win!
I gently pat the milky cream on my entire face. I went to watch TV and allowed it to dry.
Within a few minutes… that cream rescued my skin! The flaming redness went down. The eyelids stopped swelling and I felt so relieved and felt better!
While I’m not a dermatologist I highly recommend if you are in a bind and some new skin care or makeup reacts badly in your skin. Try this DIY.
I think I will put this in my beauty secrets and tricks recipe book!
I did not remove the cream and went to sleep with the cream on. The next morning my face was no more red and felt so baby soft!
If you feel like your complexion is looking pale and pasty and needs a little color!
Mix a quarter size of your bronzer to your moisturizer and glow! OR use a nickels worth of loose or pressed bronzing powder to a moisturizer. Mix well and glow!
It will warm up your complexion.
Add a dash of a rose gold or champagne colored lip gloss and you’re good to go!
Use Bronzer OR Self Tanner Say “Yes” to Rose Gold or Champagne Gloss
Nourish the cuticles and nails with a nail oil nightly. I even use it on my toes before I go to sleep at night. If you don’t have a store bought one go to your kitchen. I have used sunflower oil, olive oil and even coconut oil.
Rub it in and all around your nails too.
I keep a squeeze bottle of it at my bedside.
Your hands and toes will be instantly refreshed and glowing.
Got extra oil on your hands?
Run the remains in your hair and comb with your fingers and hydrate it a bit too.
Your complexion looks best when it is even in tone and makes you look so well rested. Even with a face mask or face covers I still do this!
Place a few dots of concealer under the eyes, on your eyelids, around your nose and a dash on your chin. This will even out sunspots, broken capillaries and town down any redness. No foundation needed.
The problem I see is when girls over do by going crazy with their concealer like on the filtered faces of Instagram or beauty videos on YouTube… it looks so unnatural. Too much!
You want to look like yourself only better and let your pretty complexion shine through!
*By the way, when I feel I look really tired my go to is a salmon colored concealer. I also keep a fleshy yellow concealer and a nude too. I like to mix and match or depending on my need that day use one hue at a time.
You may feel like a D.I.Y. that you can whip up yourself with a recipe of white sugar and coconut oil or olive oil. Apply to lips and brush the lips with a babies tooth brush.Rinse well with a warm washcloth.

Fresh organic honey 🍯 is a natural and wonderful lip 👄mask!
TLC Vitamin E or Clip conditioners in a tube travel friendly and work wonders too.
Lip gel or sheet masks from Korea give instant gratification to your lips. All the rage with professional makeup artists and celebrities too.
DRINK plenty of water 💦 to keep yourself hydrated.
