I’ve been traveling a lot lately and I can’t resist popping by a few of my favorite big box store out of town. You never know what you’ll find. Right? I was filling my basket with some awesome fashion finds and then browsed the Beauty Dept. I wasn’t there but a couple of minutes and what did I see? A lovely woman before me. I went to look at a few beauty tools when this woman turned around and smiled at me. I smiled back. Smiling and being kind is what I love to do. In a few seconds I was SHOCKED at what I saw. This woman was OPENING all the makeup kits and makeup she could get her hands on. One by one she put the products on her ARM and hands swatching away! I was pretty horrifed when she placed her NOSE in some foundation bottles and creams. At one point she had the tip of her nose filled with creamy white face cream and did all of this NOT even phased by me being there.
I don’t know about you but I NEVER do this and I have never had any clients do this at my private makeup studio. It was so troubling to see. 2 and 1/2 years into Covid you’d think she learned a thing about beauty safety and more.
All of this happened for over 10 minutes as I got lost in the beauty aisle. I could not help but notice her every move testing, swiping and sniffing. It didn’t matter to her that I was even there. NEXT she closed up the boxes and other products and shoved them back on the shelves. I could not stay. I simply had to walk away.
But what was most troubling is a supervisor directed two employees to put out new merchandise and displays to her specification ALL while this lady was testing all the beauty products she could get her hands on. The were so engrossed with their conversations and displays they let this happen a few inches away not feet.
I love discount and closeout stores but this really turned me off and made me think yet again….BEWARE and BE AWARE.
What you are buying may have been rifled through and someone elses germs can be all over what you buy!$
What do you think? I think it is a beauty crime I don’t want to witness it again. I will still shop this store but will proceed with caution what I buy there down the beauty and skin care aisles.
So don’t forget to tell your sweetie to get himself checked out too. Lumps in the breast aren’t normal.
And how about you?
Have you had a mammography or at least check your breasts too?
YOU matter! Stay well and on top of your health too.
And just a reminder. I had Breast Cancer but not in the breast but ON the breast. It was Squamous cell carcinoma. Mayo performed Mohs surgery on me for hours. It was a bit deep. They said it’s not common. So watch out for raised spots or dark dots, reddish spots that suddenly appear on your skin.
Winter, summer, spring or fall… I love a bit of a color best of all. When I moved from NYC to Florida as I fell in love with a man but being in the 🌞 Florida sunshine and getting a tan was the cherry 🍒 on top!
Yes, I do love a pretty, smooth and glowing complexion ! But I also love to tan. Especially in the winter. But I don’t do it at the beach or in a tanning bed anymore. I learned the Florida sun was hard on our skin! Even walking, riding a bike or driving in our car we can get a sunburn fast. Next, I got skin cancer! Never want to go there and get that surgery again.
So I fell in love with sunless tanners. I like to be be kissed by the sun.
One of my absolute favorites is a brand called Tan Towel. The reason why it was such a hit for me and my skin?
No orange tinted hands, no odor, so portable for my travel schedule and lifestyle… and once applied so NATURAL looking!
All from the size of a washcloth! No messy tubes or lotions.
So if you’re looking for a safer kiss of color on your face and body. Check out this awesome 😎 product!
Today I stopped by one of my favorite big-box discount stores. I enjoyed my quick browse and shop run down the aisles of the store.
The checkout was next. A woman in her late 30’s or more browsing the aisle at the register with all the OTHER items they want you to buy told me to go ahead of her on line. So, I did. As I waited I heard clicking sound of things being picked up and like put down and back. This went on minutes. I turned around and what did I see? This woman was TRYING ON 💅 the shelf filled with nail polishes!!!
Every color or so it appeared!
🤢 Yuck! 😡 I was so mad. I could not believe my eyes! I wanted to tell her do you know how unsanitary that is?
Do you know they have a price on them because the nail polishes are for FOR SALE! NOT for you to try on.
I looked around for someone in management but no one was around and I was pressed for time.
Have you ever experienced this?
It is a health hazard and can spread bacteria and germs! That’s why non-discount stores have testers. Testers are for you to be able to TEST drive the colors, creams or fragrance.
My beauty words of wisdom for the day! End of rant.
