Travel and Explore!

I just spent an amazing time in Arizona! One of my stays was at the JW Marriott Star ⭐️ Pass Resort & Spa. It is an amazzzing place! And the spa was beautiful too.

It was so refreshing to be back to Arizona again! The history and the food with a bit of heat 🔥 some things more spicy 🌶 than others. It is an awesome place to visit.

The highlights from my trip were visiting the city of De Tubac where arts and history and foodies are alive and kicking. I happened to be there when they had a festival going on. So many creatives in one place!

My fav’ place to eat was at Elvira’s. So delicious and the wait staff was awesome. The restaurant was Eye 👁 candy in itself. All the color from the moment you arrive. The art 🖼 and even using the powder room was a religious experience.

Connected to this place is a fabulous decor & gift shop! From angels, to hearts to art to glassware. I found a hand blown heart ❤️ piece I had to have. I’m going to place it in a gold ribbon and hang it from one of my chandeliers. I used to buy mugs, pot holders and tea towels when visiting places. Now when I travel I got smarter! I buy things that make me 😊 happy and that decor adorns my home or office. A daily reminder of my wonderful trips!

Also in this town there was a fabulous kitchen store Tumacookery I could have shopped there ALL day. If you’re a foodie or chef. What a fabulous and fun place!

Everywhere you travel 🌵 cactus of all kinds follow you. And they have skin care and cocktails 🍹 and other edible cacti treats too! The weather was amazing! 🌞

The people were charming and the sunsets were breathtaking! As I always say…explore beyond your door. Life is even more wonderful if you just get out the door and travel.

Happy Thanksgiving …thoughts!

As we celebrate thanksgiving day I have a few things to say…

I wish the readers of my blog today and followers too a fabulous and yummy Thanksgiving day. I am happy to have you in my life in some small way.

Next,I’d like to ask is…

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful I opened my eyes and woke up today. It was even sweeter when I heard the glorious Star-spangled banner  anthem outside my window. Today they amped up the volume but it was still  beautiful.I live near a naval base. I am happy I was born and raised in America and happy it is my home.

I am thankful for my lovely family. And darling funny husband. I only wish my twin brother, mom and dad were here to share my days with me.Gosh how I miss them!!!

I am thankful  for ALL the little things in life that can bring us so much joy. The sun,the moon, the stars the smell of fresh cut grass and more.

I am thankful for a roof over my head and food on the table.

I am thankful for bakers and chefs not only for making healthier fresh bread but dessert…yes I have a major sweet tooth!

I am thankful for the farmer I am an avid foodie and so love supporting them and eating fresh fruit and vegetables.

I am thankful for fuel for hot baths and warm showers. Especially with a bit of bubbly like a bubble bath.

I m thankful for music which fills my ear with joy.

I am thankful for the person who invented LIPSTICK! They were brilliant! A swipe of color goes a long way!

I am thankful for fuel to jet around town and jet around on a flight to all the amazing places I get to go for my work and to play.

I am thankful for good health.

I am thankful for all I have learned in life and can’t wait to learn more!

AND…I thank MACY’S for bringing me back home even if it is on the TV screen.LOVE the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade! The 90th year.

A true miracle on 34th street where I used to work! #theresnoplacelikehomegive-thanks-leaves-photo-jpg-2016Give THANKS…Not just for today but tomorrow and always!

Have a yummy and beautiful thanksgiving day everyone !

New York,New York

New York, New York … They loved it so much they named it twice.

Guest spoke at the beauty show, painting the city gorgeous and enjoyed yummy things along the way.

They were fabulous and exciting both beauty shows. I will do a blog on what trends I saw in time for the weekend.

Nothing like a hot dog from a street vendor. 2 slices of awesome thin crust pizza and a soda for only $2.75 and honey roasted peanuts for $1.00 if you are on the right street corner around town and in the right place to see their Nuts 4 follow the scent of hot sugary peanuts. They are so delicious!

The bakeries are too die for.Every where you go a giant muffin, bagel, pie, donut and cupcake are talking to you…saying “Come Eat Me”.The chefs in this the city are  are off the charts.

Yes, indeed it was a wonderful time.

The only thing is I am exhausted and I am usually a ball of energy! So, I WILL regroup and  get some beauty rest and write another blog soon.

Stay tuned…

Nothing like a BOOK!

photo ROCCO

There is nothing like reading a book…especially when it is a YUMMY one.

I came across this new cookbook and simply had to share it with you! I love to cook but don’t always have the time as travel does not allow it. Hotel or on the road food are my only choices. However, I do like to cook and love the art of the process an the fun of the presentation.

Celebrity  award winning chef the one and only Rocco  DiSpirito has yet another new book. He is a master at them. I LOVE the name…Cook Your Butt Off!  Don’t you?

Let’s go back I first met Rocco on TV he had a reality show called The Restaurant.

I WAS HOOKED. I had to see him and taste his mamma’s meatballs I dined there several times. Sadly it closed but it did teach you a behind the scenes look at a Chef starting in the industry and ALL that goes into opening a restaurant. His food was AMAZING!!!

The book is an easy to use  and he shares some unique recipes. The book is focused on how to lose up to a pound a day with fat-burning foods. I always wondered what they really are.

And if you like and need gluten-free recipes…you are going to be a happy foodie camper.

Allow me to tempt you with his: Apple,Lime and Basil Smash …is your mouth watering? It is only 37 calories per serving.

BLT Salad…I LOVE a good BLT do you?

Chicken Teriyaki with Sugar Snap Peas for a healthy take-out at home!

Chocolate Mint Thins his version of the old Girl Scout Cookies…easy and just 55 calories per serving. I am going to make them ASAP.

Guys and Gals…

Turn your kitchen into a gym,and burn calories with HIM as you cook.

Rocco’s looking ever so handsome, lean & mean and BETTER than ever.

GET HOOKED…get the book.
