New York Fashion week Beauty… a bit late!

That Hurricane IRMA has me drained, exhausted and not my usual self. So, forgive for the delay on this post. I did not make it to NYC for fashion week this year but I did chat with a few of my friends on what they did or saw behind the beauty scene.

Rumor has it my fav’ things were hot in NYFW fashion week this year!

One is an Ancient Chinese Secret now once again let out of the beauty bag you may know I have used for years on myself and on my clients. This double sided wonder is a fan of Asian Royalty where they used it in gold down to now the everyday woman in jade. One side is for the eye area and one for the face.Rolling in circular motions and upward strokes it brings a beautiful glow to the face. The women of the Orient would use it for ant-aging. One cool tool. Now, model’s and makeup artists covet it.NB8J0393

Another is Rosebud Perfume Companies of salves called Rosebud Salve. The original lips salve is used on the lips, top of the cheeks,on the shoulders and added to a baby tooth brush to groom brows in place or pesky hairs around the face.

At NYFW and other beauty events they also used the infamous sheet mask and more. I  too LOVE, LOVE, LOVE K Beauty anything and these instant gratification wonders! They really are magical! Therapispa has an KBeauty Essence your skin will love.

Not your basic everyday toner or skin freshener. It too gives the skin another layer of love!

And the cat eye lined eye is still holding it’s beauty reign.

The  infamous makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury worked her magic with a shimmer and contour stick and illuminated and chiseled the skin. She is always on point!

That’s all the buzz I have to share tonight.

I hope you explore some of these beauty secrets and get glowing!

What I saw,ate and did in Las Vegas!

photo.JPG friesI love Las Vegas. It is a beautiful and fun city. And the best part like New York it has so much FREE eye candy for you to enjoy. You don’t have to spend all your time on the Strip either!

My last post I told you I was going there to guest speak at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa conference. This year the show was better than ever!Alongside the show is a full pavilion called the International Beauty Show. Both are shows if you are in the business of beauty and a licensed beauty professional you do not want to miss. This year we got an extra bonus…The Comic Con show was there. I saw all kinds of characters. From devils to Winnie the Poo to sexy sirens. In 113 to 117 degrees I admired the passion for the world of comic books.

Trends come and go but the biggest trend I continue to see and grow is the look of healthy skin and  the care of the skin.I tried all kinds of lotions, potions, hydrated by a new sheet mask  by the ever popular Image Skincare and skin feeling softer and loved. The ever popular Savvy Sleepers pillowcase rocks your skin with anti-aging smooth benefits. Protects your skin from more wrinkles and saves your hair and extends expensive blowouts all while you sleep. Especially from the aromatherapy spa product aisle. The smell of lavender, peppermint and more filled the show floor.

Another trend that continues to rise is COLOR.It was everywhere on the faces of makeup artists in my classes and on the show floor and at makeup booths. HAIR was colorful too. I saw all the colors of the rainbow kinda hair. It was AMAZING. My fave’ were the luscious world of lipsticks and glosses. Aqua, pink, coral, yellow, purple lipsticks are so on trend and sure to make you happy hues.Let’s not forget that nail polish continues to be in all shades to tempt you. I LOVE the fact that our world has become so color filled. Remember when our beauty world only offered safe colors like soft pink, pearly white and beige. How about when our blow dryers only came in boring gray? Well no more.

My classrooms were filled with eager to learn beauty professionals, spa and salon owners.I love what I do and travel too. After the show I was STARVING and needed to hydrate up and had to stop to my fave place for a for a burger and fries. Smothered in yum and made in the kitchen with LOVE. And a sip one of their shakes…Pink Strawberry. You know how I love pink!

I like to venture away from the strip where the locals who live there go. Not all your meals have to be in swanky expensive  I enjoyed the ever fabulous In and Out Burger where I ordered off their secret menu…ANIMAL style Fries ( see photo)

I also enjoyed exotic  meals from Orchids Garden where they serve ALL DAY Dim Sum! If you haven’t had is Chinese Brunch. The food is so fresh and the staff there is so friendly. Save some room as you might also want to try the coconut bun which is dessert that is perfect with a hot cup of jasmine or green tea.

Who doesn’t LOVE to shop? While I like the SHOPPING on the strip I also like to head to PRIMM at the outlet mall. They have some fabulous shops like Tommy Bahama,Charlotte Rousse,Coach and more.

ALL at fabulous DISCOUNT $$$$$$ prices …You won’t find on the strip.

I bought some Tommy Bahama tops and bathing suit for my husband. Gorgeous bracelets for me,sandals, perfume and a few LV souvenir gifts all for $197.00

So, I hope you enjoyed a peek inside my classrooms, the beauty and the hair shows and see what’s on trend. If you haven’t been to Las Vegas add it to your list!

Travel and explore my darlings and eat up all that life has to offer!!!

These past few months have been spent testing, spraying, rubbing, sniffing and ENJOYING all things Korea and more.Today I will be testing some face masks and body products.

My fascination with these beauty products stems from my being an all American girl whose parents happen to be Polish and Chinese. I know what a combination platter am I!  The strange part was when I was growing up I wanted to buy Revlon and Avon.I did not appreciate the history and culture of my background.

I am picky what goes into our Lucky Cookie beauty box!

Dim Sum …tiny bites of exotic deliciousness!

photo DIM SUM 2016If you are looking for an exotic brunch in NYC this is it! Your new spot to dine!

It is called Joy Luck Palace and it is on 98 Mott Street in NYC.

Chicken feet,Beef short ribs, shrimp dumplings, pork steamed dumplings, taro root,Chinese like potatoes and more oh my. I had to try almost one of everything!

Ladies push metal carts around filled with tiny bites of exotic delights…including sweets.I’ll never forget the first time my husband experienced it. You should have seen the look on his face. If you haven’t been you point to what you want to try and eat and they serve it to you. Most do not speak English or speak broken English and it is hard to know what they are saying in Chinese.

Oh what a fabulous time I had (they seat you with other people not your own table) I was seated with women who were around 80 years young doing what we do best… Girl Talk but spoken all in Chinese.I don’t speak Chinese I speak English and Polish. They sipped hot tea like it was a great glass of wine!

After the meal they nodded goodbye and went on their merry way fed and happy.

It was a lovely sight to see…I will be there one day.

If you are ever in NYC look them up. they are fairly new and this location used to be The Grand Harmony but now has been renovated, new chefs and new and even better dim sum…which I did not even think was possible!

As I have told you before I love to cook, eat out and makeup! EAT up what the world has to offer and explore beyond your door, your town, your country.Life is a beautiful buffet of people, places, cultures and glorious things! Don’t you agree?

My New BABY!

WEBSITE SCREEN SHOT 10-2015

We just a launched a beautiful NEW baby girl!

I worked very very hard on her and wanted to share this happy news with you. When you are an indie brand and sweet & petite brand and business owner every little things counts. Things don’t  get handed to you on a silver platter. It takes lots of work.

I loved doing the photo shoot for products and selecting the photos that will be used on the site. I enjoyed piecing the words together in my voice. I wanted this new website to be even better. Still the same name, beautiful brands but even more unique products and ones that mean something.

I cherry pick whatever brands I select to feature and only put my name on products that we LOVE and use and what can they do for you. In this land of lipsticks, lotions and potions you have to stand out in a sea of big names and corporate funding.

It is an online shop to explore new one of a kind finds. Since I’m addicted to lipsticks we’ve added a few new lip products. We have always featured Asian beauty products before they were en vogue. We also love great gift ideas and pretty things with a truly fun twist.

We pride ourselves on no wasteful extra packaging and thing being green is a gorgeous thing! We do not test our products on animals only my beautiful sisters and behind the scenes team. We really care about the consumer and want her to enjoy our products and have beautiful results.

She is still to be continued, adding new things just in time for the holidays and evolve even more. Hope you like her!

Were proud of her. If you are looking for a fun new place to shop…you’ve found her.

Enjoy BROWZ-ing.

If you love all things exotic and Chinese and you live in New Jersey, New York,PA and Conneticut…this may be a fun weekend for you to do!

Stop by the FACE SHOP on Elizabeth Street for Asian beauty delights!

There will even be a Dumpling Eating Contest in town.

Taste life it is so delicious…EXPLORE beyond your door!

Take a wok on the wild side, beauty and more!

NB8J0361It is the year of the snake and our lunar year celebration is now in full swing. We were cleaning up,dumpling making and getting all dolled up for a brand new LUNAR YEAR! Yes,I get to celebrate both new year celebrations.Lucky me!
We are decorating in red and have our jade on…families are celebrating all over the globe!

I’d like to share a few things with you! My FUN take on Chinese customs.Rice powder is a beauty custom that is centuries old. It looks like a white square brownie but don’t try and eat it….just wear it. It tones down shine, makes your makeup last longer and gives you a matte finish. It is also great for guys too!

Drinking HOT not cold Asian Tea is good for your health. It balances out your digestive tract and cleans out the grease from foods according to my herbalist in Chinatown. Drinking it cold does not do the same.

Pearl cream is an ANCIENT Chinese secret that Asian women use for anit-aging.It softens the skin and makes hyper-pigmentation lighten over time.I USE and love it too.Smells dreamy and is opaque and creamy.

I try and use chopsticks on a daily basis…it helps me control my weight cause I eat less! And using them is a lot of fun!

Veggies are a staple in Asian cooking…and in looking good. FRESH is best and Asian women shop for them daily not weekly. Stir some up and stir fry for your health. Go ahead take a wok on the wild side. You don’t have to be Chinese to do it.

Want prettier skin? Give your face a jasmine rice face mask. Stay tuned for the recipe and MORE! Gotta celebrate Chinese New year some more with dinner for two with my sweetie.
