Having traveled to Asia a few months ago I so enjoyed awesome beauty, skincare, fireworks, customs, food, drink and fun. Counting down to when I go back for more adventures. I hope you enjoy today’s show. If you have ANY beauty and skin care questions simply ask me!

Ancient Chinese Beauty…

I am an all American girl that happens to be Eurasian and my husband says I am a Combination Platter off the Chinese Take Out Menu. People ALWAYS ask me what is my nationality. Even more when I moved from up North to sunny Florida. When I moved here for my husband I was so in love ❤️ I forgave Florida for the HOT 🥵 temperatures and the horrific humidity. But as time went by I came to the conclusion I hate the heat and my makeup melting. I also noticed brides and bridal parties hated it too. So, I pulled out my little box of love for my complexion and made them look amazing. This box is my makeup savior and go to. I have used it on my face since I was a teen and now on my clients for TV work, red carpet beauty moments, photo shoots and for my brides and bridal parties. I use it on men too!

It is an Ancient Chinese Beauty secret handed down from generation to generation.

What is it?

A white looking brownie (yes like the Brownie we eat). It is a hard cake that becomes loose when stroked and applied with a Kabuki powder brush.

Beautiful Benefits?

  • It is feather light powder that makes your makeup last longer.
  • Makes your colors remain true especially when you have issues with your makeup turning colors and helps them remain true.
  • Great for oily skin and complexions with a bit of acne
  • Tones down shine!
  • Sets your makeup!

But wait there’s MORE!

When I make up my face or a client’s face and I accidentally put a bit more blush on or eye shadow too overpowering or doesn’t look right….I simply take a brush, dip into my rice powder and clean up,soften and blend it out.

Oh and not only does it look great on brides and photographs nicely. It also is great for women of a certain age who get steamy and hot flash! Calms the heat and the powder cools the skin with a soft matte finish.

If  YOU or your friends makeup is missing that little something or you crave all things Asian Beauty and or something new this is for YOU!

I don’t think I could live without IT alongside a gorgeous 💄 Lipstick of course!

Hong Kong PART 2

IMG_4465.JPG

I so loved all the amazing tea shops and small business owners selling all kinds of cups of tea! Known as CHA.

But my absolute fav’ place was for tea was at The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 .The Peninula’s legendary Afternoon Tea is they say a ritual routed in British Custom with the Duchess of Bedford originally bringing afternoon 🍵 in vogue in 1830. Today the Grande Dame of Hong Kong honors this general tradition by elevating the art of Afternoon Tea in the legendary surrounds of the huge and grand lobby.

Here warm, buttery scones are accompanied by organic jam and clotted cream served on tiered, silver cake stands, alongside gourmet finger sandwiches and fine pastries.

My husband and I enjoyed the most delicious hot tea, warm scones, tea pastries, macarons, mini decadent chocolates ended the tea time.

Tea choices served were Assam, Darjeeling,Earl grey, Peninsula Breakfast Tea and Peninsula blend.

You could also select from: Almond, Caramel,Cinnamon, 🥭 Passionfruit, 🍑 Peach, Raspberry and 🌹 Rose teas.IMG_4134.JPG

The extra special topping was a glass of 🥂 Deutz Peninsula Brut 🍾 champagne.

It was so delightful and decadent! The grandeur of the hotel itself was quite the experience. Being in Hong King made it even better!

I glanced over at my husband mid-way of our feast and his eyes were glazed and I have not seen him so content in a long time. He like I am is almost always working. He told me he was so relaxed and found the process of enjoying Afternoon Tea very very relaxing. It was so nice to see!

I have been to High Teas in Europe and all over the US but have NEVER had a high Tea experience like in Hong Kong. The staff was wondeful too.

If you ever have to go to China on business or travel for pleasure. Try and take the time to have tea at the HK Peninsula Hotel. Well worth the luxurious and delightful trip!

Ready,set,TV!

Just back from an amazing trip to So.Korea and China and featuring a few highlights from my trip I am featuring on TV on River City Live today in sunny Jacksonville Florida.

Asians are smart cookies and have a foodie lifestyle that is all about FRESH and they shop for on a daily basis.Green leaf vegetables and fresh exotic fruits are at the top of the list. Seafood, meat and poultry are the accessory!

Tea is something they cherish drinking. They enjoy  it on a daily basis even for  quiet time in the afternoon. It is filled with anti-oxidants and so great for the body and skin.

Sandalwood Incense fills the street air and in homes. It is burned to ward off evil spirits, bring good luck and calms the spirit and soul.

Women and Girls clamor for whimsical beauty products have to offer.Face masks are very very popular there. MEN love them too. Beauty tools and gadgets too. As well as face creams made with illuminating pearls. They covet clear no brown spot skin. They even use an umbrella even when uit is not raining to protect the skin.

Pearl powder and pearl creams are the most popular ancient Chinese beauty secret. They give the face a brighter evened out look and temporarily tightens the skin. The powder is sold by the box and these mini beauty vials are rituals handed down from generations.

I have so much to share with you from my trip. I LOVE discovering what all cultures have to offer us. Please come back for more. Right now I am still trying to fight jet lag after this trip and LONG flights. Since my last trip to Scandanavia, I had forgotten how tough (but worth it) International flights can be.

I LOVE NEW YORK…let me share the ways!

I went to New York City last week on a quick business trip shortened by the recent Nor’Easter…but when I go back home I always want to see what’s NEW! So, since my time was short I grabbed a limo and enjoyed the city…quickly before my meetings and a beauty event that night.

NYC Empire State photo.JPG

The view out my hotel room window was stunning. I never get tired of looking at the Empire State Building. I love the Empire State Bar and Grill. Nom Wah Tea parlor.JPG

I had breakfast at Tiffanys with an awesome Danish and gourmet coffee uptown.Next was so ready to visit my Dim Sum Brunch spot in Chinatown NYC. This street is where many movies are shot and fashionable photo shoots for magazines too. Some of the cast from Saturday Night Live eat here. This is is a historic and unique place.

Nom Wah Tea Parlor.

Do you see the glitter and sparkles? Those are the celebration remains of the  Chinese New Year Parade.

EGGLOO NYC I have a sweet tooth so I had to go to  the newest sensation Eggloo…a hot bubble waffle with your choice of exotic and familiar fav’ ice creams. Toppings to make your lips sing and in the above I got fresh strawberries and Asian cookie sticks. It will set you back $$$ so I’ve warned you. The entire experience was delicious fun and I loved watching them make the bubble waffles from scratch. I only wish I owned the waffle maker.

Next stop to a few new boutiques and then Macy’s in Herald Square. If you have never been this store is HUGE and a shopping mecca. Macy’s has had a makeover the past few years and keeps on getting better.

The only traces of it’s old school decor that is left are these iconic wooden escalator stairs. I hope they never change these. I remember when I worked in Macy’s where I started my NEW YORK beauty career…how MANY TIMES I went up and down these stairs to powder my nose and use the rest room or grab a bite at lunch. I was always afraid my high heels would get caught in those wooden slots…but they never did.

I shopped FAST and had to run on to my next beauty business event!

Macys NYC staircase.JPG

After cocktails, chocolates, cupcakes, gourmet Truffle Chips from Italia, photo opps, seeing my beauty executive friends again and making new ones. I then played in makeup, fragrance and skin care and more.

I craved one thing more before the night was over!!! A NYC style thin crust ooozing with cheese PIZZA. I soon discovered my fav’ place had changed names. I took a chance to see in the pouring rain (I might add) and see if the pizza recipe was the same. It was. This photo of my slice on a paper plate does not do it justice. It was AMAZZZZING! The place is called Bravo Pizza on Seventh Ave. minutes from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

I hoped you enjoyed the sneak peek into my day BEFORE the Nor’Easter snow and cold.

Unfortunately, it snowed like cotton balls were flying from the sky and got even colder. I hate March (Jan. and Feb too) in NYC the WEATHER is so unpredictable! Flew back to the palm trees of FLORIDA WISHING I could have done so much more.

New York Fashion week Beauty… a bit late!

That Hurricane IRMA has me drained, exhausted and not my usual self. So, forgive for the delay on this post. I did not make it to NYC for fashion week this year but I did chat with a few of my friends on what they did or saw behind the beauty scene.

Rumor has it my fav’ things were hot in NYFW fashion week this year!

One is an Ancient Chinese Secret now once again let out of the beauty bag you may know I have used for years on myself and on my clients. This double sided wonder is a fan of Asian Royalty where they used it in gold down to now the everyday woman in jade. One side is for the eye area and one for the face.Rolling in circular motions and upward strokes it brings a beautiful glow to the face. The women of the Orient would use it for ant-aging. One cool tool. Now, model’s and makeup artists covet it.NB8J0393

Another is Rosebud Perfume Companies of salves called Rosebud Salve. The original lips salve is used on the lips, top of the cheeks,on the shoulders and added to a baby tooth brush to groom brows in place or pesky hairs around the face.

RoseMandarin

At NYFW and other beauty events they also used the infamous sheet mask and more. I  too LOVE, LOVE, LOVE K Beauty anything and these instant gratification wonders! They really are magical! Therapispa has an KBeauty Essence your skin will love.

Not your basic everyday toner or skin freshener. It too gives the skin another layer of love!

Face-Essence-_-Combination_Oily-Skin2_580x@2x

And the cat eye lined eye is still holding it’s beauty reign.

The  infamous makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury worked her magic with a shimmer and contour stick and illuminated and chiseled the skin. She is always on point!

That’s all the buzz I have to share tonight.

I hope you explore some of these beauty secrets and get glowing!

What I saw,ate and did in Las Vegas!

photo.JPG friesI love Las Vegas. It is a beautiful and fun city. And the best part like New York it has so much FREE eye candy for you to enjoy. You don’t have to spend all your time on the Strip either!

My last post I told you I was going there to guest speak at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa conference. This year the show was better than ever!Alongside the show is a full pavilion called the International Beauty Show. Both are shows if you are in the business of beauty and a licensed beauty professional you do not want to miss. This year we got an extra bonus…The Comic Con show was there. I saw all kinds of characters. From devils to Winnie the Poo to sexy sirens. In 113 to 117 degrees I admired the passion for the world of comic books.

Trends come and go but the biggest trend I continue to see and grow is the look of healthy skin and  the care of the skin.I tried all kinds of lotions, potions, hydrated by a new sheet mask  by the ever popular Image Skincare and skin feeling softer and loved. The ever popular Savvy Sleepers pillowcase rocks your skin with anti-aging smooth benefits. Protects your skin from more wrinkles and saves your hair and extends expensive blowouts all while you sleep. Especially from the aromatherapy spa product aisle. The smell of lavender, peppermint and more filled the show floor.

Another trend that continues to rise is COLOR.It was everywhere on the faces of makeup artists in my classes and on the show floor and at makeup booths. HAIR was colorful too. I saw all the colors of the rainbow kinda hair. It was AMAZING. My fave’ were the luscious world of lipsticks and glosses. Aqua, pink, coral, yellow, purple lipsticks are so on trend and sure to make you happy hues.Let’s not forget that nail polish continues to be in all shades to tempt you. I LOVE the fact that our world has become so color filled. Remember when our beauty world only offered safe colors like soft pink, pearly white and beige. How about when our blow dryers only came in boring gray? Well no more.

My classrooms were filled with eager to learn beauty professionals, spa and salon owners.I love what I do and travel too. After the show I was STARVING and needed to hydrate up and had to stop to my fave place for a for a burger and fries. Smothered in yum and made in the kitchen with LOVE. And a sip one of their shakes…Pink Strawberry. You know how I love pink!

I like to venture away from the strip where the locals who live there go. Not all your meals have to be in swanky expensive  I enjoyed the ever fabulous In and Out Burger where I ordered off their secret menu…ANIMAL style Fries ( see photo)

I also enjoyed exotic  meals from Orchids Garden where they serve ALL DAY Dim Sum! If you haven’t had is Chinese Brunch. The food is so fresh and the staff there is so friendly. Save some room as you might also want to try the coconut bun which is dessert that is perfect with a hot cup of jasmine or green tea.

Who doesn’t LOVE to shop? While I like the SHOPPING on the strip I also like to head to PRIMM at the outlet mall. They have some fabulous shops like Tommy Bahama,Charlotte Rousse,Coach and more.

ALL at fabulous DISCOUNT $$$$$$ prices …You won’t find on the strip.

I bought some Tommy Bahama tops and bathing suit for my husband. Gorgeous bracelets for me,sandals, perfume and a few LV souvenir gifts all for $197.00

So, I hope you enjoyed a peek inside my classrooms, the beauty and the hair shows and see what’s on trend. If you haven’t been to Las Vegas add it to your list!

Travel and explore my darlings and eat up all that life has to offer!!!

I LOVE NEW YORK….Don’t you?

I have meetings with many VIPS and going to take in all the show has to offer. alongside this show is the International Hair Show…can’t wait to explore that show floor and sit in on some hair classes too.If you are a PRO and attending the show…come by my class and say “Hello!”

Before and after long show days will be spent to shop til I drop and eat my way through the city~ Don’t laugh but I cannot wait to bite into a hot bagel with cream cheese toasted, hot dog from a street vendor and devour street food in Chinatown and throughout NYC.I see there is a new yummy popcorn Food truck can’t wait to taste!

New York is the city that never sleeps and I will not rest much either. There is no place like being back home and working there too!
