My Easter table…

One of my most cherished memories since childhood are the Easter 🐣 eggs. Not your ordinary colored eggs but hand painted with old world charm. The Polish and Ukranian neighborhoods made them, sold them and displayed them at art festivals. Oh how gorgeous they were. And even as a make-up artist I could never draw or painted the way they did.

The most beautiful hand-painted Easter eggs!

The art is called Pisanki… which means to write. A centuries old tradition and still created and celebrated today.

You can also find them at online stores and art walks in wooden form. You can decorate your home or holiday table with them on Easter 🐣 🥚 or year round.

Today I am making an Easter meal with Polish kielbasa, pierogi, glazed beets and rye bread (since I don’t have that sweet bread babka).

My mom will be celebrated in my heart 💜 today. She was a wonderful mom and lovely and Polish. I’ll toast to her with a shot of blackberry brandy.

My southern husband enjoys all kinds of food and I’m lucky for that because he’s not just a meant and potatoes man on a daily basis. We dine out, pick up take-out or cook with international bites and delights. Some recipes we get online but others are discovered from our ✈️ travels.

How about you? What are some of your favorite memories from Easter growing up or now?

Happy Easter, Passover or Ramadan… wherever you are in our beautiful world.

Spring and all it’s beauty is here! 🌺

Wanna spruce up your look, fashion and home decor? TRY a few of these.

Makeup is still in but softer and baking and contouring and the cake face is NOT in.

Doing your makeup doesn’t have to be a chore and take hours to do. Before you consider buying all things NEW go over what you own and throw out what is old, smells bad or the mirror cracked. These are all things you do not need. I also recommend you wipe & clean your products down and wash those makeup brushes too.

After you have done the above…Treat yourself to a NEW lip gloss, lip balm or lipstick. 👄

Lipstick adds a little bit of sunshine to your lips! It will make you feel so good. Don’t usually wear anything on your lips? Try it you might just like or LOVE it.

BLUSH is popping this spring. It is front and center for brightening your face & complexion. Just don’t over do.

TIP: If you’re in a hurry or forgot your blush you can use an eye shadow in a pinch and go!

ADD a new handbag and a pair of SUNNIES to your spring wardrobe for a new look. Or add a new pair of shoes! These always put a spring in your step.

Another idea is to SHOP your own closet and drawers. I recently discovered a gorgeous sweater and purse I forgot I bought. Now, I have two things new!

Add some green 🍃 to your home decor scene. So pretty and healthy for you too!

Purify and detox that air in your space.

TREAT yourself to a bouquet of colorful flowers. You know the ones that make YOU happy!

Buy a new mug ☕️ for your coffee or tea! oh and a tea cup set makes sipping tea even more special!

Make your warm drinks a special time for you! 💕

I hope you try a few new ideas for adding a bit of color to your world!

Bathe yourself (mentally) in soothing light!

The magic of salt lamps!

I’m lining myself up for a better, calm and stress free new year. Adding to my decor. I’m not all about making new year resolutions anymore. How about you?

I have added more salt lamps to my spaces from a mini one by my computer 💻 to ones in other rooms of my home.

Salt lamps and Pink Himalayan salt lamps are so cool to look and calming to the spirit. Especially after a stressful or long day at work! You know what I mean.

Do you know many salt lamps are imported from ancient Polish salt mines? Poland was on my bucket list in spring 2020 until Covid arrived in our lives. Since my mom is of Polish descent I really wanted to travel ✈️and visit that part of our beautiful world.

Did you know there are salt spas in Poland that have wonderful powers for our health?

I have grown to love ❤️ the beauty of surrounding myself with salt lamps in my business and in my home. They illuminate your room or corner of the room with peachy, golden yellow and slightly red hues. The benefits are endless. Purifying and clearing the air in your space is just one of them. I love the ambient light they give a room. And so relaxing to gaze at in a room. Maybe it’s time you added a salt lamp or two to your home. They used to be pricey. But not anymore. You can find them now even at big box discount stores.

I have read about the healthy benefits of salt therapy and about the spas and salt mines in Poland. I so wanted to go! There are a few salt caves and spas that are in Poland and the one I hope to go to one day and visit is in a town …Wieliczka, Poland. They say spas and resorts offer therapeutic treatments like breathing salt infused air and incredible facials.

They say… Salt lamps also may help with people with allergies, aging skin, respiratory issues and so much more.

Let the light 💡 envelop you and take it all in with this calming therapy for your space, mind and spirit.

How To Celebrate Cinco De Mayo At Home With A Virtual Fiesta — StyleCaster

Sharing is caring. I love a good party. Even if it is for one. And even if we are not going to be able to celebrate like years gone by. Check out this fun blog post from one of my fave bloggers. Get shopping it is just days away.

While Cinco de Mayo officially celebrates the 1862 Mexican army’s victory over the French, it’s become a holiday that people across the world celebrate. Typically, most people would spend the day eating at Mexican restaurants, downing margaritas and throwing parties—but in these unprecedented times, we’re having to adjust how we celebrate. Luckily, there are so many…

Some beauty inspiration while social distancing…

We all love the Instagrammable shelfie and vanity posts on social media, proudly showcasing the impressive (and impressively organized) beauty collection of our favorite influencers and editors. And while I too am fortunate enough to have a studio with a 1920s built-in vanity table, along with a semi-overflowing beauty closet, I find the challenge of…

Inhale the new and …

Say “Goodbye” to last year too.

Moving forward …

Open your mind and embrace new ideas and mindful rituals. Create a space in your home (your own little sanctuary) and keep a little something on your work desk that will assist with mindful wellness.

You can even take a little something like a crystal with you in your travels ✈️ too!

Healing Harmonies…I love the music 🎶 from David Young. My fave is “Bliss” and George Skaroulis CD 💿 named Sanctuary. Take time to listen to calming music and just breathe. Use music to relax or to mediate or do yoga with.

Crystals are mined from the earth and they can offer some intentional light or meaning in our life too.

Each stone does a different thing and has meaning and a mood. Here are some you need to know about.

Pink Rose quartz is a LOVE 💕 stone.

Agate is a stone for good health.

Green Jade is for luck and prosperity.

Clear crystals are for clarity of the mind.

Amethyst’s are the Happiness stone.

Crystals can be very empowering.

Add some incense, burning sage and Palo Santo which is also known as a “Holy Stick” to your life.

Palo Santo has a sweet scent of pine, lemon and mint. You may also use sage as well. It is also used for a deep meditative state. You light it and let it burn. You may use it and move with it from room to room. When done. Blow it out. Wet the ember tip a bit and place in a 🔥 fire proof dish. Be cautious when using sage or Palo Santo and incense.

FYI

Palo Santo is harvested from natural fallen trees.

Smudging is the ritual of cleansing a physical space, an object or a person.

Great for the spiritual, detoxifying properties, cleansing and clearing the air of a physical space of negative energy.

Will not upset pets or people with allergies. Also they say it is great to kill bacteria after a illness or the flu.

Wellness is not just about what you eat. It is also about what you feed your mind. Check out some new things online and there are plenty of books 📚 you can explore on these modalities too.

Start fresh in this new year and take time to smell the incense and just be.

Please don’t rush…

Christmas!

I SO LOVE ❤️ LOVE ❤️ LOVE Christmas…so please don’t think this is bah humbug post.

The stores started selling ALL things Christmas ⛄️ along with the sound of 🎄 music 🎶 in the air when I popped by some of my fav’ stores to pick up something. 🛍 It was only October!

Sadly I’ve been looking at 🎄 Christmas decorations in my neighborhood since Halloween.

I simply want to enjoy the beauty of TODAY. Thanksgiving is the next holiday! Let’s be grateful for it. First!

I can’t wait to sip some hot apple cider.

Eat a piece of sweet potato pie 🍠 & pumpkin 🎃 pie!!

Give myself a pumpkin face mask.

Treat myself to a new cozy fall scarf 🧣 to take me into winter in style.

Celebrating 🥳 the beauty of each day in my own way. One glorious day at a time.

And you?
