I discovered something while shaving …

There is an unwelcome guest on my big toe that gets me where I want to go. It is small the size of a straight pin head. It is black and under the nail. I am worried as it came out of nowhere. Moving from up North to sunny Florida 🌞 🌴 for my husband has it’s rewards but it’s got a downside too. You need to wear a sunscreen here even more. And liberally apply it too. Cause the sun keeps following you… even on a cloudy day.

So since its skin cancer awareness month and as a beauty and skin care professional I had to share! I feel no pain. Nothing is red or inflamed looking but it IS there a few weeks now.

I happen to have a skin care check up booked for next week. So the timing could be more perfect. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I am kinda of scared. I have had squamous cell cancer. The last two times I pointed out brown spots on their face and body to my clients … they were skin cancer and they are no longer with us.

The Beauty of being a TWIN!

Once upon a time there was a lovely woman who gave birth to a set of twins. After the twins had been delivered the Dr. quickly came into the room and said to the woman “You have two babies. One is a healthy baby girl and the other is a form we do not know. We recommend you put him in an institution.”

My mother quickly replied…” God gave me two babies and I am taking TWO babies home. I am so glad she did! I am a twin to that handsome charming boy and I couldn’t be prouder!

My twin was born with Down Syndrome. He is a VSP!Twins Kissing

MY…Very Special Person!

Today is our Birthday and since he passed away our birthdays do not get any easier. In fact it is a day I need to smile more and handle myself with TLC.

Norman was laughed at,treated badly and ignored by the universe and by people he came across daily. They stole his little read wagon several times when we were children. I hated the way he was treated and not readily accepted.

He was the kindest, sweetest and SMART guy. He loved music,Sci- Fi  movies and a huge Star Trek fan! You should of seen the look on his face when he actually met Captain Kirk  when I took him to a Star Trek Convention. We were of humble means but he made our family rich!Every day of our lives!

You know the THEME song in the movie the Titanic? That’s all I can think of …my heart is so full today and my heart will go on and on.Until we meet again.I truly miss him.

Next time you see a person tall or short, young or older who has Downs…introduce yourself they love meeting new people!Say Hello and you just might meet a new BFF for life.

Day 26 to more beautiful skin

Do you have something on your face or body that looks like a mole,a sunspot, red splotches or is scaly or itchy?

DON’T ignore these symptoms and play or avoid the doctor. Last night I mingled a fashion event and spoke with several people who found out I was in the beauty and skin health business.
They told me they had family members or friends who ignored the signs on their skin and are no longer with us.

Rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, raised every changing spots, hyperpigmentation they all are not cancer but they do need to be looked at.A prescription recommended and a plan of action to help you on your way to healthier skin!

See a PRO and get a skin care check up every year. Doctor knows best!
On a personal note I SURVIVED squamous skin cancer …I was one of the lucky ones. It all started with a tiny beauty mark like spot.

Day 16 to more beautiful skin

ALL THIS MONTH…I am sharing easy to understand ways to take care of your skin. I am trying to keep it simple for you the girl or guy next door.

Plastic surgery isn’t always the answer if you aren’t feeling very pretty.
Retinol (Retin A) is a topical product that is a form of vitamin A. It is used for anti-aging,acne and hyperpigmentation. This product comes from a prescription from your doctor and also found in many skin care products today. A little goes a long way. It helps to slough off dead skin cells at a normal rate. Sometimes our cells are sluggish and the skin cells do not shed like they should. This will cause clogging of pores or splotches of dry patches on the skin. While using it can make your skin red and flaky and is a strong prescription. Many people find great results from it for wrinkles, sun spots and issues with severe acne.

In face and body creams Retinol is added and mixed with other ingredients to make your skin look better and may even look younger too. Shedding skin cells and skin cell turnover that’s what it’s all about for baby fresh new skin.
