Day 8 of MY Beauty Secrets

I’m crazy for all things … Coconut!

Once a week I devote to a bath 🛁 with coconut oil. I take off my clothes. Slather on warm melted coconut oil on my body. Tonight was that night. I feel so amazing. Refreshed.

I apply coconut oil like hand and body lotion. You must be careful not to slip or fall. But so worth it! Remember a little goes a long way.

Next, I dip my toes and body into a warm water 💦 drawn bath. I relax around 10 minutes. I sip coconut water in a plastic goblet and enjoy the luxurious silky coconut oil bath.

Then I rinse slightly and step out of the tub.

I wrap my body in my luxe white fluffy robe with a giant set of lips 💋 on it.

I apply white socks on the 🥥 coconut oil feet. And then I go to sleep.

This is a super soft body treat. You’ll wake up with baby soft skin.

Try it! You’ll love ❤️ it.

Sunnies,Vitamin SEA and Me!

LIDO BEACH READING IMG_0713

I have just come back from a much needed early winter getaway!

When I arrived the palm tree lined streets home of Ringling Brothers (yes, the circus creator) I knew I was headed  to some place special!!!

Yes I live in Florida now. But I live closer to Atlanta and now was clear across the state. When I got to the sunny resorts door  I smelled a scent I recognized but was not sure of.  I got to my room and jumped for joy! I went to open the  curtain to the balcony I discovered I was just steps from the ocean. Finally, it dawned on me I work so hard and spend lots of time in my makeup studio,TV and at airports …I didn’t realize that scent was the beautiful salty ocean air! Oh how I EMBRACED and gave in to that awesome air.

A Tropical drink is ALWAYS a good idea. Even if it isn’t filled with alcohol. But this one was a tease of it on my tongue. Just what I needed.

Seashells and Sunnies IMG_0733

(I decorated the table with some of my sea finds)

A heart healthy walk and an exfoliating facial for my feet and soles was next. My feet and calve muscles loved me too!

I rinsed my hair in the sunlight and salt water detoxing my hair of any oil and product buildup. And although I did NOT sunbathe at practice what I preach…I managed to get a little kiss of color and VITAMIN SEA.

I loved the hotel balcony I hated to leave it.I shopped and window shopped, dined in some yummy places and had an amazzzing relaxing time. UNTIL my iphone had plans for me!

It died  … I mean really died totally black screen would not fire up! For days!

I hated being less than 8 hours there and no phone. No connection to my beauty business. No blog posts,no social media. It was so STRANGE!  I hated the feeling of being so attached with my phone and all of it’s trappings.

Long story short. I had to drive to get it checked  on and perhaps get a replacement. I have only had the phone a few months. But did you know if you live out of town you cannot and they will not just give you a replacement from the Apple store? You have to go back home to where you bought it and work on getting it checked and perhaps a replacement there. Oh and it takes another week to get a new phone replacement. The diagnostics said my phone was from a bad batch that was recalled. But I was not informed. Quite a phone adventure I did not plan for.

Perhaps my phone was trying to tell me something along with the salty sea kissed air. SLOW DOWN…enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Unplug. What do you think?

Puerto Rico my recent tropical escape!

PR 2013 BEACH

I visited this pretty island in the US with my husband to work and play.It is an amazing place.
Although PR reminds me of sunny Florida it had a different sexy twist!

As a makeup artist and avid fashionista I am a people watcher. The ladies and teens love to smell good and quite a few wear makeup.

The men smelled amazing and a lot of them wore blousy tropical tops with loose cotton like pants for the bottoms…think like Ricky in The I Love Lucy TV show. They were impeccable.

The people were very friendly and spoke mostly Spanish but if you spoke with them in English most seemed to know English.

At night we left our resort hotel for the famous San Juan Hotel for a drink.WOW was that worth the trip itself. This old hotel reminds me of old Hollywood…simply beautiful. At night this hotel comes ALIVE with woman of all ages. ready to dance. They dress to the nines…the shorter and tighter the dress the better. The men dress to the nines and every hair in place too.

Puerto Rican people are SEXY people. they move sexy, they dance sexy and even talk sexy. My husband and I couldn’t take our eyes off these people on the dance floor. They dance with each other, they dance woman to woman and the men or women even dance ALONE. They have moves I couldn’t believe no matter what their age or size. This hotel is a must see.
We loved our visit for work and play. One day you have to see it in your OWN way! San Juan and historic old San Juan is an amazing place with aqua clean beaches and delicious exotic foods.

Explore beyond your door…pretty Puerto Rico!

Day 5 to more beautiful skin!

Hands looking older, dry and are your cuticles looking unkept? Now is the time to book and appointment for a paraffin dip and skinny dip with your hands. Paraffin treatments at salons or spas are mini hydrating vacations for your skin.

It takes about ten minutes total and will refresh your skin and moisturize it too. Follow up with a decadent hand and body lotion or cream. Take care of your hands they say so much without your saying a word.

His Eyes were glazed over!

I so wish I had taken a photo to show you. He (my husband) WAS back to the SPA.

Working seven days a week and not allowing much ME time, I insisted my husband join me for SPA week last week at the Ponte Vedra Inn SPA in sunny Florida.

We arrived around noon time for check in bathing suit in hand and ready to escape. I booked an appt. for an Old World Exfoliating body treatment to slough off dead skin cells , detox and moisturize to  shed away his stress. I WANTED my sweetie back. The nice guy whose on a life high… Not Mr.Tension!

The guy who helps Santa every year!

After you are welcomed back to PARADISE by the spa receptionists and locker room attendants. (Though we were 45 minutes from our home.) We felt we had landed on a private Island. We got undressed into their cozy spa robes and slippers.

This spa is awesome and breathtaking. It’s design and layout makes you succumb to RELAX and be taken away for the day. He rejuvenated in the whirlpool, steam room and sauna. “Good Bye to toxins and Hello sweat”. He melted like the witch from the Wizard of OZ !

He drank, Spa water, ate fresh red apples and relaxed beside the pool.He swam his laps and enjoyed a cool afternoon in the sun. It was a gorgeous day!

Later, he joined me for a late lunch in the spa lounge cafe.  The menu was delightful and delicious as usual.

He had the salmon cooked to perfection. I had a unique salad with watermelon, chick peas and lathered in lovely dressing greens. Endless sparkling water was served along with a yummy roll.

He came out glazed eyes,starry-eyed and…  he was Prince Charming again.

THANKS  to Ponte Vedra Spa and INN you did it again. Can’t wait to go back…we  feel awesome and still are daydreaming about our time in the sun and at your spa.

This time to partake of the spa and all its amenities BEFORE the holiday rush and to buy gift certificates! If you come to sunny Florida or are passing through over the holidays or early next year. Discover this beautiful place. A real spa! A gorgeous SPA  boutique AND services to relax and delight your senses.

Love yourself, take care of yourself…if you don’t , WHO will?

An afternoon in Paris~

Paris…viva la beauty! Ooh la la! Paris is an amazing place.

The Eiffel tower, the decadent patisseries, the shopping, spas and oh so much more. I adore Paris!

After a day of shopping and gambling, yes gambling I retreat to a peaceful place. Yes, I am in Paris however; it is the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. If you have never been now is the time.

I love the Paris Hotel and the casino but I am getting to now know the SPAAAAAAAAAAH!

The Eiffel Tower towers over this beautiful hotel lined with cobblestone streets just like Europe. As I enter the spa I am charmed by the kind and caring staff that greets me. She allows me peruse the menu and decide what I really want to partake of. NOT PUSHY.

She noticed I have a fresh haircut, nice manicure and says my skin is lovely. She was not sure what I wanted. I chose the “DAY PASS”…for $25.00 I can relax and renew in the spa from that morning until 7:00 that weekday evening.

If you have never been to a real spa not a salon that offers a paraffin treatment or massage. A day SPA is a very special place.

Here is my PASSPORT to Beauty and what you will find on your spa day here:

A locker holds your personal things and you are given a fresh robe and slippers in just your size. This is what you will wear all day. You may enjoy the spa naked or bathe in a bathing suit/bikini. The staff shows you around and tells you everything you need to know. Fresh towels and cold wet washcloths to cool off with are waiting for you.

Sauna

Whirlpool bath/Jacuzzi

Steam room to detoxify

Once you start your journey in one of the above, you are on your way and transported to the other side. RELAXATION. The music is just right here…no whale music sounds… pretty and delightful to my ears. As an educator/ consultant for the spa and beauty industry all over the country and as a beauty business owner it is so nice to be on the other side.

You can also book a service for a facial, massage, haircut, manicure, pedicure or detoxifying special bath, or you can enjoy the relaxation or meditation room and do the above. The lighting is low and the mood is quiet. The staff almost whispers in the spa area. No talking aloud…think the library.

 At my finger tips were:

Chinese Green tea filled with antioxidants to keep healthy and hydrated.

Cool lemon spa water

Colombian coffee (I wish they served a more authentic one like French coffee like a café au lait or a French roast blend.)

Giant red apples

Fresh bananas were ready to bite into!

It is a petite cozy place in the Mandara Spa as it is called and a truly nice way to treat myself and escape. I already feel my blood pressure lowering and my mind was able to shut off all the work and stress of the travel day.

My favorite product is the Elemis brand Exotic Frangipani Monoi moisture melt. If you have ever been on a cruise, the ships feature these products and a variety of wonderful services. I love the warm hair treatment and scalp massage that they use the above with. If you buy it, you can continue the magic at home. This product is so addictive and can be used all over your body. I also love it as it reminds me of my trips to Hawaii and the islands.

The moisture melt also can take your cares away and can be used for a massage (my husband loves it) it can also be used to give yourself a moisturizing foot conditioner and hand treatment.

The Elemis Detox BATH treatment is yet another beauty gem by Elemis that I so enjoyed another trip in my own private room and bath with candles and rose petals.

After my spa day, I went to the Le Madeleine Patisserie and bought a creamy and dreamy hot chocolate and a French decadent tomato and cheese tart. It was to die for!

Las Vegas is an awesome place. You do not need a lot of money to enjoy all it has to offer. Just like the famous and fun master, Walt Disney has created Disney world and had a vision for children and adults alike. So did all the masterminds who created Las Vegas.

Next time you are in L.V. don’t just drink, party and gamble…enjoy pampering and renewing wonderful you.

Explore beyond your hotel room door.

There is a sweet retreat waiting for you! Make it a Girlfriends Weekend or DAY Getaway and enjoy the fabulous escape that is Paris! Las Vegas that is!

“The art of doing nothing”…I want to major in it at least once a month in a spa somewhere.” How about you?
