It’s a secret!

Can you keep a secret?

I tried but it was tough. Last month my husband and I went to a place that had the most amazing vibe. It is located in sunny Florida 🌴 but they asked me to not say a word on the address. They want YOU to find it if you want to go.

You need to make a reservation online. Your reservation will only be for an hour and a half. It’s a popular coveted place! And by the way, reservations are really hard to get! So be flexible.

You’ll be given a secret password just for you that day.

They suggest you dress with an island 🏝 vibe. flowered shirt or dress, Hawaiian vibe and maybe wear a lei flower necklace. 🌺 You know … get into the mood. So I did. My husband did not play. But at least he wore a peach Tommy Bahama top.

When we arrived a beautiful girl greeted us. She told us the story of this magical place. She gave off great energy.

The lighting is dark and mysterious. Unique decor intimate settings are all over. Some of the tables have old school paintings of Asian and Hawaiian women back in the day. Really pretty!

A large TV screen is at the bar that plays non-stop old time movies with an Island twist.

This bar and the staff …so awesome. Old school Hawaiian drinks 🍹 with mini umbrellas of course!

Everywhere you turn there is more exotic decor and a mix of lighting, flowers, Tiki, skulls, cool red lighting and novelty lamp lighting illuminated and filled the room.

Mysterious Lighting!
I never tasted Spam before I ate this!
So delicious! White Rice 🍚 is so yesterday.
Secret Tiki Happy Hour drinks 🥤 & dumplings 🥟 and more!

Worth exploring and stepping into their 🚪 doors! A 😎 place indeed. Perhaps I’ll see you there sometime by chance if you go. Explore beyond your door.

Aloha! 🌺

My adventures to the Wild West! 🐎

Part 2

Meals were so delicious I fell in love with a fabulous brunch and had to order what they call “Pig Candy” So unique and delicious! See photo:

A signature snack or gift treat!

After a day of fun in Wyoming I came back to the room to this! Old fashioned “Turn Down service” in my hotel room in Hotel Jackson. Sweet bonus? Two boxes of decadent chocolate 🍫 duo and bottled water at each of our bedside stands. It truly is about the little things! Isn’t it?

Shopping 🛍 in Wyoming is lots of fun!

I love ❤️ love ❤️ love all things beauty and CANDY. That is why I named my beauty and lifestyle blog Beauty Candy.

So the two old time candy stores were a thrill to discover and browse in! And yummy too. Look what I found? PEZ. Not just any Pez candy for my personal Pez machine at home but in chocolate 🍫 flavor!? Yes, please!

One candy store was called Yippy I-O and another candy shop is Mursell’s a family owned store. So many oldies but goodies to choose from and enjoy! 🍭

Yum! 👄

Walking around the city streets and in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons… you never know what you’ll find! 🦬

It truly is like a 🎥 movie set of an old western!

Look what I found?

No cowboy in sight just cowboy boots!

If you love ❤️ salads you’d love Cafe Genevieve! These delicious place is inside a log cabin. Dining available inside and on the patio outside. Dog 🐶 friendly.

Best salad ever! Really!
Dolce and Gabbana kitchenware anyone?

Shopping the Belle Cose kitchen store was the most amazing place I’ve ever been in. So gorgeous. So many gadgets, gourmet ware and a foodies/chefs play land to get lost in!

Yum!

Everything and anything huckleberry is the coveted yummy and fragrant product. From jam to bath abs body products to this from Jackson Drugs and old time drug store with counter. We loved our huckleberry milk shake with whipped cream and a 🍒 on top of course!

I found a clean beauty 💄 makeup & skincare shop!

The wallpaper on the shop walls matched their biz card with all kinds of beautiful faces! See the details?

Couldn’t leave Jackson Hole without a cold beer 🍻 with my husband at this iconic bar. The bar seats are horse 🐎 saddles!

Well that’s a wrap on my trip. It was so awesome and so was the views we saw. If you haven’t been to Wyoming or Montana maybe now is the time!

I highly recommend you add it to your 🇺🇸 US travel bucket list. You, your sweetie or family would really love it.

My only regret. I wish I made it on a wagon ride and enjoyed a meal fireside. Winter is coming so things were starting to close to prepare for the long cold winter.

PS

Bison 🦬 own the road. Be careful!

Travel MORE!

Let me tell you about Wyoming. Jackson Hole in particular. It is quite the charmer! The Grand Tetons follow you wherever you look and the views are spectacular. Although I have been there and nearby Montana to guest speak… I discovered it has gotten even more delicious and fun!

As you may know if you visit my blog I love ❤️ to travel and mix business trips with pleasure. The days of going home right away are over. I learned over time it’s the perfect thing to do. Even if I’ve been to that state or city before I reconnect with it even if it’s for a day.

Welcomed and greeted at the car door by the hotel the second I arrived. Just as it shows on the website. I couldn’t believe it.

R

Here are a few photos to highlight from my trip. Let’s start with the hotel. Hotel Jackson was absolutely the best place to stay.

I’ve stayed at other hotels but this is by far a 10 Star ⭐️ stay.

To my surprise I did not just see a couple of satin hangers but THIS! Lavender sachets on a hanger in the closet to keep things fresh!

Amenities galore!

Boxed in a beautiful western style white leather box. Filled with fragrant soap, shower cap, 2sets of ear plugs for sleep, refreshing wipe, cotton balls, Q-tips, nail file and did I mention the shampoo, conditioner and body lotions were by the luxe French brand L’Occitane?

I fell in love with the body oil! I had never tried it before. but I do love when I have a Gate departure at the Atlanta airport near the L’Occitane store. I know exactly what I’m going to do is buy more oil my next trip. It us heavenly! My skin felt so wonderful!

The fireplace 🔥 that you flicked with a switch was so relaxing, cozy and the right amount of warmth. Sleeping 😴 at night by it was simply the best!

Coffee & or tea? Both are for me! The hotel served all kinds of Numi organic tea. My favorites were… They also had a Nespresso coffee maker in the rooms. Gourmet frothy fabulous coffee at its best. I own an at home deluxe version of it so this was a welcome surprise and I felt so at home. They also had complimentary bottled water and sparkling water in the fridge.

Nespresso Decadent coffee! ☕️

The hotel also gave us a signature lip 👄balm and an eco friendly tote to enjoy and use to go out and about the city. They frown on plastic bags. I’m glad they do.

Our first night we enjoyed a pretty sweet vision fresh French macrons and a bottle of Panna still water 💦 served on a leather white tray.

Leaving the hotel and venturing the old west streets was so fun. The hotel staff and people all around greet you with the cutest greeting ever…. “HOWDY” I kinda got used to it. Especially when they greeted me with “Howdy Miss!” 😉

Stay tuned for Part 2 of my delicious adventures in the city and more.

Have you ever visited this neck of the woods for vacay, work or play?

Sliders!

I love makeup but I also love to cook. Let’s celebrate every single day in our own way! Missing going to our fave Mexican eatery I had a craving for something. So I am making Margaritas and a crisp cold salad and this recipe. I am watching my calories since the pandemic has me filling all of my cravings for food and sweets. It is tough isn’t it?

Here is a recipe I enjoy for healthy Mexican sliders.

1 lb of ground turkey

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1tbsp chili powder

1 avocado mashed

8 tomato slices

4 reduced fat pepper jack cheese

Prepare in a medium bowl, mix together turkey, chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Divide your turkey into 8 different portions to make a slider shape into a patty.

Place patty in frying pan. cook well for at least 3 to 5 minutes

Place burger on a bun and top with 2 tsp avocado, 1 tomato slice and 1/2 a cheese slice. OR switch it up and create your own version to suit your taste!

Life is delicious!

ENJOY!

Travel and Explore!

I just spent an amazing time in Arizona! One of my stays was at the JW Marriott Star ⭐️ Pass Resort & Spa. It is an amazzzing place! And the spa was beautiful too.

It was so refreshing to be back to Arizona again! The history and the food with a bit of heat 🔥 some things more spicy 🌶 than others. It is an awesome place to visit.

The highlights from my trip were visiting the city of De Tubac where arts and history and foodies are alive and kicking. I happened to be there when they had a festival going on. So many creatives in one place!

My fav’ place to eat was at Elvira’s. So delicious and the wait staff was awesome. The restaurant was Eye 👁 candy in itself. All the color from the moment you arrive. The art 🖼 and even using the powder room was a religious experience.

Connected to this place is a fabulous decor & gift shop! From angels, to hearts to art to glassware. I found a hand blown heart ❤️ piece I had to have. I’m going to place it in a gold ribbon and hang it from one of my chandeliers. I used to buy mugs, pot holders and tea towels when visiting places. Now when I travel I got smarter! I buy things that make me 😊 happy and that decor adorns my home or office. A daily reminder of my wonderful trips!

Also in this town there was a fabulous kitchen store Tumacookery I could have shopped there ALL day. If you’re a foodie or chef. What a fabulous and fun place!

Everywhere you travel 🌵 cactus of all kinds follow you. And they have skin care and cocktails 🍹 and other edible cacti treats too! The weather was amazing! 🌞

The people were charming and the sunsets were breathtaking! As I always say…explore beyond your door. Life is even more wonderful if you just get out the door and travel.

Have you ever been? Share with me.

I LOVE NEW YORK…let me share the ways!

I went to New York City last week on a quick business trip shortened by the recent Nor’Easter…but when I go back home I always want to see what’s NEW! So, since my time was short I grabbed a limo and enjoyed the city…quickly before my meetings and a beauty event that night.

NYC Empire State photo.JPG

The view out my hotel room window was stunning. I never get tired of looking at the Empire State Building. I love the Empire State Bar and Grill. Nom Wah Tea parlor.JPG

I had breakfast at Tiffanys with an awesome Danish and gourmet coffee uptown.Next was so ready to visit my Dim Sum Brunch spot in Chinatown NYC. This street is where many movies are shot and fashionable photo shoots for magazines too. Some of the cast from Saturday Night Live eat here. This is is a historic and unique place.

Nom Wah Tea Parlor.

Do you see the glitter and sparkles? Those are the celebration remains of the  Chinese New Year Parade.

EGGLOO NYC I have a sweet tooth so I had to go to  the newest sensation Eggloo…a hot bubble waffle with your choice of exotic and familiar fav’ ice creams. Toppings to make your lips sing and in the above I got fresh strawberries and Asian cookie sticks. It will set you back $$$ so I’ve warned you. The entire experience was delicious fun and I loved watching them make the bubble waffles from scratch. I only wish I owned the waffle maker.

Next stop to a few new boutiques and then Macy’s in Herald Square. If you have never been this store is HUGE and a shopping mecca. Macy’s has had a makeover the past few years and keeps on getting better.

The only traces of it’s old school decor that is left are these iconic wooden escalator stairs. I hope they never change these. I remember when I worked in Macy’s where I started my NEW YORK beauty career…how MANY TIMES I went up and down these stairs to powder my nose and use the rest room or grab a bite at lunch. I was always afraid my high heels would get caught in those wooden slots…but they never did.

I shopped FAST and had to run on to my next beauty business event!

Macys NYC staircase.JPG

After cocktails, chocolates, cupcakes, gourmet Truffle Chips from Italia, photo opps, seeing my beauty executive friends again and making new ones. I then played in makeup, fragrance and skin care and more.

I craved one thing more before the night was over!!! A NYC style thin crust ooozing with cheese PIZZA. I soon discovered my fav’ place had changed names. I took a chance to see in the pouring rain (I might add) and see if the pizza recipe was the same. It was. This photo of my slice on a paper plate does not do it justice. It was AMAZZZZING! The place is called Bravo Pizza on Seventh Ave. minutes from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

I hoped you enjoyed the sneak peek into my day BEFORE the Nor’Easter snow and cold.

Unfortunately, it snowed like cotton balls were flying from the sky and got even colder. I hate March (Jan. and Feb too) in NYC the WEATHER is so unpredictable! Flew back to the palm trees of FLORIDA WISHING I could have done so much more.

What a Beauty!

photo chile blog.JPG

From the moment I arrived in New Mexico I loved it! I also was drawn in to the sights of these chili peppers dangling at homes, stores and restaurant doors.

They say that the wreaths, strands and other shaped chilies are not just for cooking and eating but for “Welcoming” people to your home or business.I kinda like that. The colorful red hues welcoming you! In fact much of the food I ate had some heat!

I traveled to New Mexico the locals call the land of enchantment for work and play!photo Santa Fe shoppining

The fashion also got my attention with the Native American decor, clothing and more!

Take a scenic drive on the Turquoise  Trail you’ll never know what you will find…like a yummy haunted tavern, fun shopping and more.

The historic Loretto church is rich in religion and history. There are other fabulous churches to explore as well.

There was an annual Chinese Lantern Festival I would have loved to go to…but time did not allow.

One fabulous meal I had has been seen on Diners,Drive Ins and Dives.…it is called TUNE Up Cafe. It was off the food chain fabulous! Beyond YUM and a husband and wife owned business.

Shop the little road side stands you might see…something NEW to discover wherever you go!

Note to self…the SUNSETS are truly amazing! REALLY!

photo Santa Fe postcard.JPGLoved my hotel La Posada de Santa Fe resort. Next post I will share all about my visit to a famous SPA out in Santa Fe.

I only wish my travel date was able to be timed with their annual Hot Air Balloon Event and race. My husband is a hot air balloonist. It would have been quite a ride.

Hope you enjoyed my view of colorful and beautiful New Mexico!

Delta Airlines,Travel and more!

airplane seat POD

I love to travel for work but I love to play too. When I visit a city I don’t just stay the time my business trip is for I stay a little bit more. If you read my blog…I am all about explore!

This time I was in First Class on an airplane that is usually used for International flights. I got lucky. The seats are like this. What you see is my purse and tote bag filled with beauty & fashion magazines and I had my own large screen and HUGE chair that goes back they call a POD. It goes back like a bed!You can actually go to sleep in it. My table space was like a mini vanity. It was an awesome flight!

Lap in luxury after working hard out-of-town across the country…was a very pleasant and most unexpected surprise.

THE SERVICE from the flight attendants was amazing. Delta is my go to airline AND also my happy place. I love to fly! Delta  99% of the time takes care of me. Never disappoints and the CHEF has really stepped it up. The food and desserts are amazing.

Now, I’ve got another half  week ahead…back to TV today and on The Chat, gotta get caught up in my office and makeup studio and taking care of my husband who I have missed too. A business owners work is never done.

Can you say exhausted already?

Enjoy your week,Beautiful!

Summer days…speaking to you?

Coconut LIPS

Me too…maybe it is time for you to explore what’s around the corner or take a day trip or two!

There is this town where they have a lot of amazing things as well as the Fountain of Youth. So much to explore,so little

time. Even the coconut monkeys wear lipstick! You know how that thrills me!

It is in Florida in a quaint town called St. Augustine. This town is approximately 45 minutes away. Yet, I am hardly ever out that way. I am always working. Either in town or headed on an airplane.Yet it haunts me. I LOVE THIS CITY!

Speaking of which it has an awesome Ghost Tour at night. Sangria reigns supreme and it is such a charming city with a major  Spanish influence.Just walking on this city’s streets brick by brick takes you back in time.

Perhaps you have a place near you that is calling out to you. Enjoy the last weeks of summer through mid- September too. There is still time to enjoy the view.

Colorado High!

Denver PhotoI recently enjoyed an escape to a beautiful place I have not been to in awhile. My! Other than food and shopping growth it hasn’t changed. It is still as beautiful and the air is crisp healthy and clear. As I’ve mentioned before…
Explore beyond your door when possible.I love to combine business with pleasure and stay an extra day in a state or city.
It truly does wonders for you, your health, mind and body too.

If you ever doubt where God is just look in the sky and all around you.
