Easy as 1,2,3 …

Pooped Out? Me too! Between my work,travel and play schedule some days I can look not so pretty tired.

A simple trick I like to do.

I apply a eyeliner in a vibrant hue like a purple, green or blue from the center of the eyelid to the outer ends of the lash line.

A little goes a long way at opening up those eyes!

Skip eyeliner on the bottom of the eye. You might want to just do a thin line near the lash line.

Then I blend a bright liner pencil with an upward stroke towards the brow but staying at the lash line on the eyelid.

I apply a dash of shimmer color on the inner corner of my eyes. I like a sheer champagne,a white pearl, a gold or a silver.

Now you’re ready for a dash of colored mascara.

Time to celebrate National Eyelash day!

Notice those long lush lashes little boys,guys and MEN have? It kills me how nature has blessed them with the longest lashes and some even curl WITHOUT an eyelash curler! I am so jealous.

If you weren’t blessed with lashes for days perhaps it is time to get a Lash Lift service which is like a permanent wave for the lashes only. Google anywhere and you’ll find this service and before and after photos of the process.

If you prefer another option a Lash Tint service is another that you can get done. It is usually done every 30 days as it does not last forever but it is a great option.

IF your lashes are sparse there is a product called Lash Lift. You place it on like a mascara and let it dry and then apply your mascara. It pumps up the volume and makes all those lashes show up!

Whatever your need these are three options you can try to give those lashes some attention and make them speak volumes.

Glow all season long into New Years Eve!

Today on TV I am sharing beauty tricks and tips to get that GLOW UP!

Here’s a sneak peek for you.

Prep your skin with a face and neck mask. My go to is The Route Party Peel. Its like champagne bubbles on the skin.

Shine Up that hair with a hair treatment. I like Biosilk.

Glossy Juicy lips require a gloss or a lipstick with a shimmer. Shimmer lipsticks make your lips look fuller. Dark lipsticks make your lips look smaller.

Colored liner gives an INSTANT pop of color to your eyes.

I also love to mix a shimmer eye shadow into my liquid or cream foundation. Just a few sprinkles.Choose a champagne, rose gold, or silver. Just don’t over do it. You can do the same with your body oils or hand and body lotions.

EYES looking tired and lacking that bright eyed look? You might just need Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Wrinkle Tightener eye treatment. It is all the rage on Tik Tok and really works! I have added it to my makeup kit when working on set or on location in my work travels.

Before even thinking about leaving your door. Don’t forget to protect your neck! As well as your decolette and legs (if you are wearing the no hosiery look even more) You want the skin on your hands and body to look healthy and hydrated. To give it a glow brush a shimmer lotion or powder over them or mixed with them for a sexy glowy look.

They had me at “dirty” (naughty me!) but it all fit when I saw this eye lash cleaner on my recent trip ✈️ to guest speak at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference.

I never really thought about or heard of a lash cleaner for strip lashes or lash extensions before. I thought you just rinsed them with a dash of soap and water. But then I walked the trade show floor after my class at the Spa show…. And discovered something.

Everyone seems to be batting their eyes with lashes especially now that we’re wearing face masks 😷 or covers and no other makeup. The emphasis for some are just on the eyes. Not me I must add a dash of it all and can’t forget a luscious lipstick.

So with that comes the need for a little TLC whether the lashes are real,faux strip lashes or lash extensions.

I am back from Las Vegas attending and guest speaking at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference. I discovered a few products and fun finds. Todays blog post is all about lashes for days!

LASHES are at the top of the list these days for beauty lovers deserted on an island. Mascara rules! To some faux lashes are a must instead.

False Lashes were everywhere from faux strips to lash extensions.

Blinc Mascara is still HOT! Don’t paint your lashes tube them! Rinses off with Luke warm water and a washcloth. No running down the face black mascara eyes. No waking up with raccoon eyes.

Lash Lifts are still IN and an ever growing trend.

The beauty product women must have besides lipstick 💄 is her mascara.

Day 28 of MY Beauty Secrets

As you know you shouldn’t go to sleep with a full face of the days makeup on!

I see there are some girls and women who are wearing a full face of makeup under that face mask. You wonder how I see their faces? It is usually BEFORE they put their mask on in the parking lot. Or I see the eyes, forehead or sides of the face around the face mask.

But there are also many of you are turning only to eyeliner,eye shadow, mascara or just false eyelashes on…you need to make sure you remove ALL of that nightly. Don’t get so lazy that your skin will suffer or worse yet you get an eye infection.

So, two things you must remember to do for eyes.

False eyelashes need to be removed nightly.

Place eye makeup remover onto your lashes for six seconds or more and then remove by pressing gently and wiping it all off. I prefer using cotton rounds. Repeat the same for eye makeup. Don’t tug or pull on your lids and lashes. Please!

Also be careful to alternate between basic mascara and waterproof mascaras. Over time your waterproof mascara will destroy your lashes and maybe even a loss of lashes.

Remember your eyelashes need a bath too! There are a few new products on the market to do just that safely and without destroying your lashes.

As a professional make-up artist I have seen it all through the years. Be gentle. Eyes need to be treated well and with lots of TLC love. They give you eyesight daily. Treasure them. Protect those eyes and eyelashes.

Day 25 of MY Beauty Secrets

Do you use eye lash curlers?

I so love to use them too! They are my lash BFF. But do you ever really clean them? Do you? I professionally recommend you do.

Here’s why:

1. Bacteria is growing all over it! You don’t need an unwanted eye 👁 infection.

2. The rubber head strips get filled with mascara gunk!

4. Eventually your Eyelash Curler will need replacing. But in the meantime please remember to replace the rubber band strip inside. It doesn’t last forever!

5. If your lash curler isn’t curling like it used to and mascara isn’t looking the way it used to. Throw it out. Buy a new one.

A simple recipe:

Soap and warm water 💦 with a sprinkle of tea tree oil in clean water at the end. Rinse. Towel dry. Allow it to dry on a paper towel overnight.

Clean and disinfected and ready to … CURL!

As a professional Make-Up Artist I use products and things in different ways. I love being a creative and thinking outside the box,circle and square.

When it comes to mascara and the beauty photo shoot or the client calls for a natural not caked on mascara look… I use a Tinted Grooming Brow Gel on the lashes instead of a true mascara. It adds thickness and color. But the lashes look totally natural.

Another product I like to use is a CLEAR Brow gel on the lashes and not just the brows. Colorless and natural my clients love ❤️ both the looks.

Day 14 of MY Beauty Secrets

When applying a bold hued eyeshadow I always place a dusting of “Translucent” colorless powder across the eyelid BEFORE applying the color. I also use a concealer before it too. Sometimes lash primers aren’t all that. Purple, green, royal blue whatever the hue the powder will make the color go on easier for you.

The powder will also coat your eyelashes a bit and when you put on your mascara you will have more lush lashes too.
