I have super sensitive skin. I do not have any problems with any of these delightful DIY treats. 😍

Coconut 🥥 milk by the can is so softening and gives you a healthier sheen. Use it before you shampoo and then pour a cup on your ends and rub a comb through your hair. Leave on at least 15 minutes.

Women from exotic countries love this hair trick!

Canned Coconut milk or coconut oil both work!

Local honey makes a skin softening and soothing face mask for women or men. Yes, it’s a bit messy and you might want to eat it and lick 😋 the leftovers. but it is a quick wonderful mask. Apply on clean face and leave on at least 10 minutes. I also like to do this mask on my neck.

A little honey goes a long way!

Tone,Tighten and Glow Me Up!

I don’t know about you but I feel a little bit off. This pandemic is still with us, my usual positive spirit is off and my skin needs a little LOVE. Not just from a dream face cream or eating the right stuff but something else. I discovered a good book and found a fabulous read for you to enjoy and actually put to use this summer.

It is called Face Fitness by an esthetician, yoga teacher, a chakra meditation instructor and working mom! I don’t know how she was able to make this book happen with three children. Her name is Patricia San Pedro.

There are a plethora of skin care tips, tricks and exercises for the face. No yoga or exercise studio to drive to. Easy to do at home. Or in a hotel room while I’ll be traveling again soon.

Just launched …

I have a few favorites so far but I am still trying to master them before I do some others. But it is fun to explore. Even as a beauty and skin professional I am learning something new. We never stop learning do we?

Since I am MAD about the lips I find I am crazy about the Lip Cardio exercise. Glow Flow is yet another one I am practicing. Neck Detox is a great one to get the blood flowing and bye bye to the impurities.

On this Self-Care Sunday think about what you can do for yourself. Not just your family, the sweetie in your life or friends. You NEED to take care of one and only you!

I know many of you think you need Botox, filler and filters but think again. There is a healthy alternative for you that will rev up your skin, tighten, tone and make you feel and look happier in that skin.

I am embracing my face and enjoying and taking one beautiful minute and day at time. I hope you do too!

LOVE on your skin!

Day 12 of MY Beauty Secrets

The other day I was test driving some new products someone sent me as a gift. I applied the eye cream and facial moisturizer to a clean face that night.

In a matter of five minutes my face freaked out. It seems that something In them were not agreeing with me. My face didn’t want it on either.

I quickly took a wash cloth filled it with warm soapy water and washed my face. I removed all the products.

Next, I pat dried my skin.

I went to my kitchen and poured on a cotton round some whipping cream. That is all I had. I carefully applied it to my face and pat soothingly across my closed eyelids.

Milk or Cream for the Win!

I gently pat the milky cream on my entire face. I went to watch TV and allowed it to dry.

Within a few minutes… that cream rescued my skin! The flaming redness went down. The eyelids stopped swelling and I felt so relieved and felt better!

While I’m not a dermatologist I highly recommend if you are in a bind and some new skin care or makeup reacts badly in your skin. Try this DIY.

I think I will put this in my beauty secrets and tricks recipe book!

I did not remove the cream and went to sleep with the cream on. The next morning my face was no more red and felt so baby soft!

Day 7 of MY Beauty Secrets

Feeling stressed? Grinding your teeth? Getting headaches?

Stress less my dear with a Jade Facial roller. Not just for anti-aging I love to use it for all of the above.

Even my dentist noticed a difference in my grinding. I didn’t want to look like I was frowning. It relaxes the jawline when used around the mouth.

It also is great for tired computer eyes. Not so pretty puffy eyes.

I even use it on my shoulders to de-stress and help with muscles tension.

Experiment and play and see what works for you!

So get going and start rolling!

EGGS GLOrious eggs

I so love eggs. They are little bundles of joy for making so many recipes and things and you know they are so good for our health.

I use eggs on my face. My sister uses egg shells to make art. I use eggs for making quiche, fry eggs in a wok and for making these egg cupcakes.

Don’t you love ❤️ the way that sounds?

I enjoy making these and I thought I’d share them with you!

What you will need:

12 medium eggs

2 cups of baby spinach

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 diced ham steak

1 small tomato, chopped OR add a few baby tomatoes whole

Pre-heat oven to 350 Grease a 12 cup muffin tin.

Whisk and mix all of the above together (But hold off on the spinach leaves) and pour in a cupcake or muffin tin. Add a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Stir in spinach, ham, tomatoes.

Use a 1/3 cup measure and scoop mixture into each muffin cup.

Bake in oven until eggs are puffed and the center is set. Approx. 20 minutes.

Place a small pat of butter on each one when done before serving.

If you want to make these with another cheese…try it. You will find yourself and your sweetie or family wanting even more.

GLOrious Face Mask

Want tighter skin and a glow?  Take a farm fresh organic egg and crack it separating the egg white from the yolk. Add a dash of lemon. Whisk on. Place on a clean face. Enjoy for 15 -20 minutes. It will stiffen up on your face.

Rinse with a a smidge of facial cleanser or facial soap on a luke warm wash cloth.

Follow with a cotton pad with a rosewater facial toner.

Add a dollop of moisturizer and eye cream or gel and get some ZZZZ’s. Wake up refreshed and glowing.

Protect your Neck

Just for kicks and to tighten my skin. I like to make an egg white neck mask. Simply whisk up one egg and place on your neck towards your chest. All you need is a thin coat.. Leave this DIY mask on at least 15 minutes. Rinse and hydrate with your favorite moisturizer and paint the town red!

Even if it is just social distancing with your bestie or sweetie for a drink of lemonade in the back yard patio this 4th weekend.

Know when to say…GOODBYE & Clean your Skin Care Routine!

While staying at home and helping to do our part on flattening the curve you can get your mind off of the virus 🦠 and be productive and get lots of things done. I can’t stop organizing my home, cleaning and doing other things to bring me joy.

The other day I started to use a cream I had received from a beauty event in NYC six months ago and I applied this new face cream but I quickly smelled something funky.

I washed my face IMMEDIATELY.

It wasn’t something I wanted to use on my face So, I also threw it out. Once opened or sitting in a box for several years OR unopened BOTH matter! You have to know when to throw it out!If you HAVEN’T worn it in many months and are not sure how old it is…it is probably old.

You want to be safe and protect your face, body, hair, fingers, toes and more! Don’t you? Be smart. Armed and dangerous and protect yourself!

So I thought you might need a reminder on your skincare.

Here is what to KEEP or Toss when it comes to your skincare:

Moisturizer and eye cream or gelUnopened lasts 2-3 years. But only if it is stored in a dark place. Not in or near a sunny 🌞 window or area.

Once opened = Lasts up to 1 year

Sunscreen or Sunblock- Unopened 2-3 years Once opened-Lasts 6 mos. to 1 year .

Face Masks –Unopened 2 to 3 years Once opened– Last up to a year.

Treatment skincare productsUnopened last no longer than 1 year. Once opened– Lasts up to six months.

Now just a reminder. Did you know you can disinfect your skin care products too?

You simply need to own a SterileLight disinfecting case. Visit their website for all the information.

http://www.sterilelight.com

All you do is open the jars, tube cap, tops and more. Next place in the SterileLight disinfecting case unit. Three minutes of disinfecting ❤️ love!

And once a week I like to wipe down all my skincare jars, bottles, tubes that I have used or that need some cleaning attention.

Washing our hands and makeup brushes is so important but disinfecting the opened products you use makes so much sense.

Now what are you waiting for? You’ve got the time. Go over all your skincare and decide what to keep and what needs to be thrown away. Your health and skin health depends on it!!

Vitamin C , AHAs, retinoids, Facial Serums, Essences or skin toners. Unopened or Opened the cosmetic chemists recommend to not keep them beyond a year.

Now, to disinfect and sanitize your skincare products especially in today’s new world.

You need to DISINFECT and sanitize your skincare and beauty products. I USED TO and still do wipe them down with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. Your safety and health (as well as your families) is very important. But now I use the SterileLight disinfecting case. I am addicted since this COVID-19 hit the US. I feel SAFER.

STOP the insanity!

It’s time to hang around the house,go to the mail box or take a walk with a little color on your face, lips and nails!

I see in social media some people have NOT put on makeup or a lipstick in approaching a month! As a professional Make-Up artist and Skin Therapist I find this so sad!🙁

As I mentioned before my mantra is ” A woman without lipstick is like a day without sunshine” So, please pretty please at least put on some lipstick 💄 or at least a lipgloss 👄

I promise you’ll not only FEEL better. You’ll look better too.

Tomorrow is a new day if you didn’t do it today.

Take the time to get a little dolled up! WHY you say? For who? For YOU and those around you.

Because you need to! Perk yourself up! Brighten that complexion! Give those cheeks a pop of color!

If you don’t want to do any makeup at all and I haven’t convinced you enough on that go do something good for your hair.

If you don’t want to go all the way with foundation and more. At least put a tinted moisturizer or BB cream on. Add a little blush to your cheeks, put on little mascara and lipstick.

While you’re at it apply a nude or metallic hue to your nails. They don’t require a lot of work or precision to apply. Just swipe and you’re good to go!

These nail polish shades also don’t show chips as fast.

As for your hair...

Give yourself a hydrating treat by mixing tap water in a spray bottle with a bit of conditioner added.

Shake the two together.

Spritz on dry hair and rinse after 15 -20 minutes. Take a bath or shower and wash your hair. No need to condition your hair again.

Give a bit of the blow dryer and you’ll have shiny happy better looking brush and go hair. Even if you’re just going to your living room. 😁

I know we’re all restlesswe’re all in this together and need to keep our spirits UP and look our best waiting and staying home.

Toilet paper 🧻… really?

This past week or more has been a whirlwind. How about for you?

Have you been feeling crazy with life too?

Since we are all consumed with doing the right thing, washing our hands and trying to distance ourselves and continue on with daily life… I thought we could use an extra dose of vitamin C. Keep your body hydrated and your body happy.

Try and enjoy a few of life’s treasures to eat but also make an effort to keep your cool and eat the colors of the rainbow.

I came across a recipe I had made before and so loved. I thought you might like it too.

Here is what you will need:

1 green Apple 🍏

1 avocado 🥑 Peeled and without the pit of course

1 kiwi 🥝

A few pieces of spinach leaves!

1 piece of fresh ginger (peeled)

A dash o of lemon 🍋 and a dash of fresh squeezed lime juice.

1 bottle of coconut 🥥 water

I hope you enjoy this recipe and get in your pretty greens too.

PS

I am down to 4 rolls of toilet 🧻 paper. Wish people weren’t hoarding so. I went to 4 stores last night. Totally out of toilet paper until Monday or Tuesday deliveries they say.

Wish me luck!

If you want… save a slice of the avocado and use it to make a hydrating face mask!

You can also make variations on this drink recipe!

Night Time IS the Right Time! ⏰

Women I meet in my travels and in my private studio continue to ask me how to get their skin clean. They say they don’t have a clue on what to really do.

I tell them to NEVER go to sleep without washing your face or with the days makeup on (and remove every trace of mascara too) as well as getting a great nights sleep. That is why they call it beauty sleep.

I know that’s not always easy to get when you are sleepless in Seattle. But a good nights sleep is essential nightly as your skin needs it.

You need to make a plan and create a nightly beauty ritual and do it every night.

Do what’s right for you and select a skin care line that is so you. You can mix and match. A soap from one brand and a cream from another. But try and keep a few from the same line if possible so you don’t have an allergic reaction.

Just a few easy steps!

Clean:

You may use a soap bar (not deodorant) liquid soap but cream cleanser at night.

Tone:

Rosewater makes a refreshing toner. Stay away from strong alcohol based ones. Way too drying to the skin.

Nourish and Hydrate:

Choose a moisturizer that is light but at night you can use a richer one. It all depends on how your skin is behaving. Your skin changes as the seasons change and from stress or the weather outdoors. Your moisturizer must change to go with the flow.

Eye care:

A hydrating Eye gel or light eye cream is perfect. A little goes a long way.

And remember don’t scrub or rub your face like you’re washing your car or pots and pans. Be gentle with your delicate skin.

Always treat your neck and décolleté to what you put on your face. Not just your face!

So that’s it as far as a SIMPLE nightly skin ritual.
