I love,love, love color! 💚❤️💜🧡💙❤️🤍💛
Have you ever participated in this beauty filled & colorful festival?
These days into months have not been easy for us. I’ve been keeping busy with my work and lost in our pandemic life. (Sorry I have not posted a blog lately.)
But we’ve got to keep moving, keep going, keep working, keep dreaming and keep taking care of each other and our families.
And above all continue to take care of ourselves even if it is doing it ourselves until we can see a PRO and visit the spa or salon again. I have been able to see my stylist for my haircuts unlike many of you across the country and globe. Wonderful!
Nothing like a fresh haircut and someone else shampooing your hair.
Am I right?
I long for a real mani & pedi!!
I so want a facial! (And not one I do myself)
I want to fly ANYWHERE or travel out of the country again!
I want to work again on the road and continue to spread beauty and love all around the country again! I want to pamper my clients and wrap my arms around them again.
I long to eat at some of my fave local places and around the country safely again!
I want to see the faces of my sisters and feels their hugs and LOVE in person again! There is nothing like A HEALTHY dose of love from your family.
How about you?
What are you doing to take care of you?
How are you?
What are you looking forward to once the world heals better soon?
I have had clients with all kinds of skin issues from a giant zit on their wedding day to sun spots from spending a lifetime outdoors.
But I never knew what to quite do when I had a new client call me with Vitiligo.
So,since it is World Vitiligo Day I thought I’d share with you a brand and Camouflage Makeup Kit … JUST for this condition. A rare beauty find!
Fake Bake ( you know the famous self tan company) has come up with a beautiful brand and product to help people who have a skin condition called Vitiligo.
Created by a Vitiligo patient this system is everything you need to make Vitiligo appear to vanish! Glides on smoothly to temporarily match your existing pigment. Customizable and for warmer to cooler complexions to lighter skin tones.
Nice tropical 🌴 scent! Paraben Free!
Created by a woman and a patient who has this skin condition.
I’m really trying to enjoy being more green, clean and eco friendly…with my food and lifestyle.
And in my skincare too!
Skin is so in…Especially when it is healthy looking. If your skin is not looking the way you would like it to… Perhaps its time to try something fresh and new! Looking good takes a little effort girls and so worth it. If you do not have a skin care regime now is the time to start. Also if you have been wearing sweat pants and not taking care of your skin think about taking time for YOU and get your skin in shape too.
They say “You are what you eat” and it is so true. Eating right … with a little bit of a naughty is really best. All in balance and moderation darlings! I’ve been on a kick of making SMOOTHIE BOWLS and making them is so much fun too. Your whole family will enjoy.
I love to get glowing, use beauty from my kitchen, a local farmer’s market, and make a few D.I.Y. beauty recipes and beauty potions on my own.
I will share some of the them on my new podcast to come too! But here are a few for you to enjoy this Memorial day too.
Take care of your skin and your skin will always take care of you!
Recipe for pretty skin starts from within. Not only are these good to eat they are good to use as skincare. Especially when many of us are on stay at home orders.
Yogurt (plain Greek yogurt) makes a GREAT cheap and chic face mask. Apply to a clan face and leave on at least 15 minutes. Genty exfoliates dead skin cells too.
Avocados are a great for hydrating your face and neck. Add honey to a mashed avocado and leave on at least 15 minutes. Your skin will LOVE it.
Bananas work wonders on dry elbows and knees. If your bananas are beyond ripe and you don’t feel like making banana bread…give your skin a moisturizing natural treat.
In addition, when the weather is hot and you want to chill down and make your skin feel amazing. Take a plain ice cube and rub gently on your skin. Not your eye area but try on the face. It will tighten your pores and make your makeup glide on beautifully. I also like to use an ice cube on my chest and neck. So cool and refreshing.
I love makeup but I also love to cook. Let’s celebrate every single day in our own way!Missing going to our fave Mexican eatery I had a craving for something. So I am making Margaritas and a crisp cold salad and this recipe. I am watching my calories since the pandemic has me filling all of my cravings for food and sweets. It is tough isn’t it?
Here is a recipe I enjoy for healthy Mexican sliders.
1 lb of ground turkey
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1tbsp chili powder
1 avocado mashed
8 tomato slices
4 reduced fat pepper jack cheese
Prepare in a medium bowl, mix together turkey, chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Divide your turkey into 8 different portions to make a slider shape into a patty.
Place patty in frying pan. cook well for at least 3 to 5 minutes
Place burger on a bun and top with 2 tsp avocado, 1 tomato slice and 1/2 a cheese slice. OR switch it up and create your own version to suit your taste!
I once read an article the word cootie comes from the Malaysian word ‘kutu”meaning lice. The word was first recorded when an American general in wartime used the word cooties as an all -encompassing word in a letter referring to the different bugs and lice he encountered in the trenches of battle. No one is quite sure how the word cootie has made its way to schools and the playground.
The other day I was on a Zoom call with a relative and noticed how her children played in the background with such wonder and passion. Trying to discover the next thing they could on the floor. I also noticed MANY things going into their mouths!!! All to happy to explore. I then thought on how much the unit I told you about called SterileLight Illumicide disinfecting case that I use in my beauty business to clean my makeup and skincare, disinfect my makeup brushes and more can be used with babies and in children’s rooms and things. I knew it was great for baby bottles and teething rings but looking around even more at these nine month old babies and another 2 year old what a necessity it could be.
The COVID-19 pandemic is making us think beyond just washing our hands to the entire tune of Happy Birthday to keep our hands clean. Children and our homes and home offices need to be protected and so do all our belongings and things.
Here’s a list of a few things I thought you can disinfect too and in just a few minutes:
Food Bowls and plates
Hair brushes and combs
Nail clippers etc.
Story books both made of paper and plastic
Small baby blankets
Small plush toys
And I am sure you can dream up and think of a whole lot of more things you’d like to disinfect. As I mentioned before when you discover something that you love and you know others would too. YOU simply have to share. So one day do yourself and your family a favor and learn what SterileLight can do for you, your entire family and your entire home too. I don’t work for the company I am simply thrilled about this new technology and what it does. It disinfects and sanitizes using a germicidal and bacteria killing light.
Sharing is caring. I love a good party. Even if it is for one. And even if we are not going to be able to celebrate like years gone by. Check out this fun blog post from one of my fave bloggers. Get shopping it is just days away.
While Cinco de Mayo officially celebrates the 1862 Mexican army’s victory over the French, it’s become a holiday that people across the world celebrate. Typically, most people would spend the day eating at Mexican restaurants, downing margaritas and throwing parties—but in these unprecedented times, we’re having to adjust how we celebrate. Luckily, there are so many…
I so LOVE CANDY…That is why I named my blog Beauty Candy.I also love a good cookie. A friend of mine shared this recipe with me and I am going to make them as soon as I get the three easy ingredients. I have been on the road for beauty so much I am starving my husband according to him as I have not grocery shopped much lately. He eats sardines and clam sauce pasta as meals when I travel. Kinda crazy!
So, I am going to make him so home-cooked meals and cookies!
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of peanut butter (substitute almond butter for peanut if you want)
Pre-heat oven 375 F.
Grease a cookie sheet.
Place in a bowl all of the above. Drop with a cookie scoop little rounds. Flatten with a fork. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until a slight golden look and center settles in.
Cool cookies on wire rack.
She said before she knew it they were all gone and so was a gallon of milk. Yum!
