Self-Care Sunday …Hand Mask

Lately I’ve noticed women’s hands and feet. While waiting on lines, while grabbing a bite to eat or my clients at my beauty cottage.

Your hands go through sun 🌞 and environmental stressors not to mention using home cleaning products and hand sanitizer. Not just your face. So, they are dry and thirsty for attention.

Hand Mask to the rescue!

Some of you who read my blog may know by now how much I ❤️ to make pretty potions!

So here’s one for you!

One of the mask DIY recipes I like to do is right out of the kitchen. Not a product from a store shelf. This mask gently moisturizes and is applied to the top of the hands.

Easy as 1,2,3.

1 tablespoon of oats

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Mix all of the above. Add water as needed. The mask will be like a paste consistency.

Apply the mask mixture to your hands with a face mask brush or a clean pastry brush.

Leave on at least 15 minutes.

Rub your hands together another minute.

Rinse well with in the sink with a washcloth.

If you have any left over. Save it for another time. Don’t save more than a couple of days. There are no preservatives.

Follow with your favorite hand or body lotion.

You’ll have happy, softer, brighter skin on your hands.

I love coffee & I love TEA!

It is a very foggy day here in Florida. The sun looks like it wants to peek in but the fog is in the way. Mother earth is talking and flowers are popping even though it is still our winter here. The flowers and birds tell me spring is on the way.

How’s life going for you? Staying safe and healthy I hope.

Today is self care Sunday. I don’t really know who started and declared it a day but I seem to always honor it and do something for my face, skin and body on Sundays. Not just the basics of skin care but do a bit more. How about you? Do you enjoy and partake of a little R&R too?

The first thing I like to do is plan a drink. It can be a pitcher of water with fruit or veggies infused.

It can be a pitcher of Champagne cocktails or as simple as a sipping a cup of coffee like cafe au lait I make at home or an aromatic cup of tea.

And today I have decided to do a fresh TEA bath treatment. Let me show you how I make and do it.

Fill green tea in a Muslim bag, bundle in cheesecloth or paper tea filter from a gourmet or tea store.

Run a warm 🛁 water bath water .

Place the tea bundle in the bath water.

If you have muscle aches or want a bit more to the bath add some Epsom salts to the bath water.

The tea helps with stress, body aches, swelling and A just a plain tired body.

Day or night the time is right!

Remember to always make time for you as you take care of your family too. But you have to practice self care and self love ❤️ to be able to continue to take care of others. Theres only one Beautiful YOU!

EGGS GLOrious eggs

I so love eggs. They are little bundles of joy for making so many recipes and things and you know they are so good for our health.

I use eggs on my face. My sister uses egg shells to make art. I use eggs for making quiche, fry eggs in a wok and for making these egg cupcakes.

Don’t you love ❤️ the way that sounds?

I enjoy making these and I thought I’d share them with you!

What you will need:

12 medium eggs

2 cups of baby spinach

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 diced ham steak

1 small tomato, chopped OR add a few baby tomatoes whole

Pre-heat oven to 350 Grease a 12 cup muffin tin.

Whisk and mix all of the above together (But hold off on the spinach leaves) and pour in a cupcake or muffin tin. Add a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Stir in spinach, ham, tomatoes.

Use a 1/3 cup measure and scoop mixture into each muffin cup.

Bake in oven until eggs are puffed and the center is set. Approx. 20 minutes.

Place a small pat of butter on each one when done before serving.

If you want to make these with another cheese…try it. You will find yourself and your sweetie or family wanting even more.

GLOrious Face Mask

Want tighter skin and a glow?  Take a farm fresh organic egg and crack it separating the egg white from the yolk. Add a dash of lemon. Whisk on. Place on a clean face. Enjoy for 15 -20 minutes. It will stiffen up on your face.

Rinse with a a smidge of facial cleanser or facial soap on a luke warm wash cloth.

Follow with a cotton pad with a rosewater facial toner.

Add a dollop of moisturizer and eye cream or gel and get some ZZZZ’s. Wake up refreshed and glowing.

Protect your Neck

Just for kicks and to tighten my skin. I like to make an egg white neck mask. Simply whisk up one egg and place on your neck towards your chest. All you need is a thin coat.. Leave this DIY mask on at least 15 minutes. Rinse and hydrate with your favorite moisturizer and paint the town red!

Even if it is just social distancing with your bestie or sweetie for a drink of lemonade in the back yard patio this 4th weekend.
