Love is in the air! ❤️

Today on River City Live TV I am sharing some of my favorite ideas to give as a Valentine’s Day gift. The show airs in Florida on WJXT4 .

Here’s one idea that does NOT cost much except your words, time, paper and seasonal embellishments. It is a beautiful way to tell anyone in your life you love or care for them. To your sweetie,your daughter, your son, your mom or even yourself!

What better way to say “I love you” than writing a love ❤️ letter!

A sImple way to say “I LOVE You”

It doesn’t have to be long. It can be short and sweet. You can mail it, leave it on a mirror in the house or under or on a pillow for your lover to discover when it’s time to go to bed.

Embellish with your “ sealed with kiss created with your actual lip print, a kiss 💋 rubber stamp, home-made label you make on your computer or decorative ribbons with lips or LOVE on it.

Whatever you want to do! Surely they will love the gesture too. Better than a greeting card or along with a card.

Add a Hershey’s Kiss chocolate or a flower 🌺 they will love even better!

So I hope you’ll consider this old school but beautiful gift. Handwritten and homemade and straight from your heart!

Words of Asian Wisdom

I discovered a tall Tea cup on a shelf in a store in Asia. I purchased it in my travels to the Orient. ✈️ . What’s so interesting it has words across it not a design with an Asian theme. I love ❤️ sipping from this unique cup. Especially with my flower 🌺 tea.

As it’s Chinese 🧨 New🎉 Year 🧧 which is a fifteen day celebration I thought I’d share what it reads.

Gotta get some rest I’m on TV 📺 in the morning on River City Live TV here in sunny but very cold Jacksonville Florida.

It’s the MOST craziest time of the year!

Wow! I never expected the last few weeks to be filled with so much adventure! NO comfort and joy for me. I know I’ve been MIA … it’s so unlike me!

But I wanted to fill you in on why I have not been blogging. I’ve been traveling for work. Puerto Rico, Santa Barbara, LA and beautiful Palm Beach. I love traveling and exploring wether it’s work or play. Airplanes are my happy 😊 place!

First there was a late in the season hurricane in 🌴 Florida.

Then while that was brewing I got sick with an upper respiratory infection. Thank goodness no flu or Covid.

Next I got attacked by three angry 🐝 wasps! Three different times!!! While minding my own business. It was bad.

All with Shop Small Saturday events at my studio and my Holiday Open House 🏡 weekend for my beauty cottage. Needless to say… I’m exhausted from all of this and the steroids I had to take too.

But I wanted you to know I have not forgotten about you and my blog too.

LET’S Celebrate National lipstick day!

Its is my favorite time of year! The day we wear and celebrate the beauty of a lipstick and what it does for our lips,complexion and face!

Now’s the time to update your lipstick wardrobe and buy something fresh,fun and new! Run don’t walk! Treat yourself to this instant mood lifter!

But before you do … go over and throw out lipsticks 💄 you do not use. Please bear in mind you don’t want to pass on your makeup to others even family because of Covid-19 even more so.

What’s HOT in lipsticks now?

PINK and fuchsia are the IT shades right now! They brighten the complexion and give you a rosy healthy glow! Summertime also is the perfect time for coral reds and golden shades too. You know sun’-kissed and to show off that tan.

If a color lipstick that you bought is not for you simply apply a sheer white lipstick with a touch of shimmer over it and you might just fall in love with a new gorgeous sexy hue!

It isn’t a party without …

Pixie Dust Sprinkles…

I recently discovered on Instagram a Florida owned company that offers these Pixie Dust Sprinkles in a variety of hues. Some of my favorites are: A luxurious Sea Glass that gives me a walk on the beach or mermaid vibes. a gorgeous mix of metallic and patriotic themed hues of God Bless America and a blend of sophisticated hues of Luxe Vibes.

I LOVE 💗 anything that sparkles,glows or is color filled. I also love to throw a party in my home or business. Even if it for a party of two. Every day we wake up is a reason to celebrate. Right?

Not your ordinary sprinkles they add FUN to any kitchen creation. I have played with my little nieces and nephews and test drove them on my husband. All passed with flying colors! This weekend I am going to dip some champagne flutes and celebrate something bubbly in style. The kids will love a pretty glass of pixie dust rimmed glasses too. Why not try them embellishing a glass of Aloha punch or yummy pink lemonade for the kids.

A slice of banana topped with whipped cream or peanut butter or honey

Hello,Sunshine!

TIME to get outdoors without our face masks where possible and enjoy some sun.

This month is Skin Cancer Awareness Month so just don’t forget to apply a sunscreen when you’re ready to go out and start your day.

In Florida where I live the sun is already calling Floridians and tourists out the door. 🏖 Beaches, parks, the woods,playgrounds they can’t resist the 🌞 and shed some clothes.

Unfortunately what I also see are girls, guys and children with sunburned lobster hued skin. Ouch! It is pretty bad and painful to see.

Just remember wearing an SPF will not prevent you from getting some color you just will be more protected and not burn. As a skin cancer survivor I know what I’m talking about. I’ve been there!

So I hope you’ll enjoy spending more time outdoors to explore. But just protect that wonderful skin you’re in!

I’m like the rest of you … taking it day by day. I’m at home in Jacksonville 🌴 Florida with my husband. Since social distancing is the new norm I do my part and just do it.

While we do not have children we do have our businesses and they are both like a child. Need to be fed, cleaned,loved and nurtured.

It is so strange to be able to watch TV shows I never get a chance to watch, lay in bed and enjoy the beauty of doing nothing!

One day I’m cleaning,organizing and list making and the next I’m grabbing the little bit of relaxation I don’t always get a chance to do. I found myself actually napping 😴 yesterday. I never can nap. I don’t know how.

Time is on my side to take a walk in the middle of the day. To meditate or pray.

Valentine Gift 🎁 Ideas!

Today on TV 📺 on WJXT 4 in sunny 🌞 Florida 🌴 I am sharing gift ideas you can make at home.

Here are a few ideas:

Create a Spa, Nail 💅 , Skin OR Bath 🛀 gift in a jar. All you need is a recycled if you have large round jar or it could be a tall one. But it needs to fit the things you want to put inside. Keep it in a theme and simple. Don’t clutter fill the jar. Add a ribbon 🎀 and note card and you’re good to go!

I created on TV a Gift in a Jar that is all about the nails! I found cool Color Street nail strips! So unique and FUN. I added a nail file, a nail brush for hands and feet. A relaxing epsom salt foot bomb fizzy,

Make HIM a beard 🧔 or mustache oil … his skin and beard will 💋 be more soft and get him ready for lots of kissing. All you need is almond oil and a drop or two of essential oil. Mix and shake the two! Pour in a user friendly bottle.

Buy a Chinese Take Out box fill it with rice and a coupon for a meal for two! Or better yet an I LOVE ❤️You Take Out gift card. Add a set of designer chopsticks 🥢 and a fortune cookie (with your own message in side) and you’re all set. This is a unisex gift idea!

Make a lip balm with your daughters or niece. Small or big. They will love it. Just take a mint or candy cane from Christmas and smash it on the kitchen counter. Mix in a microwaveable bowl a teaspoon of organic coconut oil a few pieces of the crushed peppermint candy.

Microwave it a few seconds. Watch it melt down. Let it cool. Pour in a small jar. Add a lip brush and they will have softer skin with yummy peppermint 👄 lips!

* FYI optional: you can add a small drop of peppermint oil for more intense flavor.

Nothing like giving a LOVE ❤️ letter. I wrote a short one on a sticky note and stick it on the mirror a few years ago to my husband. He liked it so much it’s STILL on his mirror in the bathroom. It is a reminder simply saying ” I love you” XOXO your wife!

I hope these ideas get you going! There are so many ways to show your love. And it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money!

It truly is about the little things, the moments… and making beautiful memories. Right?

Sometimes less is more!

FALL is definitely here maybe not so much in Florida 🌴🌞 where I now live but it is here.

As we choose a new look in makeup for fall… I think sometimes less is better!  I love to do a soft and pretty makeup look.  And I love to make up my clients in a soft kiss of color way. Yes, a deeper lipstick is always a good idea.

But you don’t have to go over the top with your makeup!  Now, if you love a lot of it and like it on your face all at one time … I get you.

I am a beauty lover too!!!

But if you are intimidated with makeup and applying it…Don’t be. Just apply a lipstick 💄 and eye 👁 liner.

I have met so many women in my career who say they are so frightened and tell me they suffer with makeup. You don’t have to suffer with it EVER!

It’s OK to apply your makeup softly and not wear it all! Really!
