I not only love 💕 sipping their floral type tea … My face loved this facial treat when I tried their facial steam recipe. Shop online and let this be an add to cart long Memorial day weekend.
Give it a whirl! I think you will like it too!
3 The-Qi whole flowers
2 cups of boiling 💦 water
*A few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
Add to a large bowl…
🌺Next: Place your head over the bowl 6 to 8 inches away, and drape a towel over your head, creating a steam tent.
🌸Steam your face or neck for about 5 minutes while breathing in the gorgeous floral scent.
🌺 Rinse your face and neck with luke warm water afterwards.
Pat dry.
🌸 Apply a moisturizer afterwards and rest up, Buttercup!

Treat yourself! Buy some The-Qi tea and do let me know or the company know how much you enjoy this recipe! And their delightful tasting, amazing and unique floral tea. Drink flowers! Enjoy!
This week on TV on River City Live I featured some ideas for snacking, face and body masking and for GLOWING skin! I hope you will enjoy them too.
I try and eat the right stuff and love most fruits and veggies. But sometimes I am looking for a little cheat drink that gives me energy and can help give my skin a boost over time. I discovered an easy recipe that actress Reese Whiterspoon shared on Instagram last year. I am kinda addicted and make and drink this recipe weekly. IF you have not tried it its worth looking into. Even my husband enjoys it.
Mix all of the above to a Vitamix type blender for easy blending.
Sometimes I like to make a smoothie/ drink what I call “Everything but the kitchen sink” I simply pull out whatever leftover vegetables and fruits I have on hand and put it in a blender with a juice I might have leftover or some bottled water. It usually turns out quite delicious!
If you are really pressed for time, Dole makes some delicious options in the freezer aisle of a mix of fruits and greens blend. One of favorites is made with mango.banana, apple, pineapple and spinach.
Stay hydrated for plump happy skin for face and body. If you are not a water drinker snack on cucumbers or drink coconut water. Add a cherry in the glass or an umbrella and make it a fun ritual. you look forward to.
Celebrities just like I love using produce for prettier vibrant skin and a healthier body. Like a strawberry face mask with fresh strawberries or they use it as a teeth whitening treat.
Avocado masks are also good for your hair or face and neck. So nourishing.
Spinach is a rock star for skin and body! My friend Victoria Evelyn founder of the Chocolate Skincare Factory brand happens to be both a pharmacist and an esthetician recommended to me another way to get my greens for my on the go lifestyle! Simply keep on hand fresh bag of spinach in your fridge and pop a handful as a quick snack. I even take a mini snack bag with me on the road or on the run. Be like POPEYE and eat spinach.
I love baby tomatoes! I pop them like candy. Really! There is a magical ingredient in tomatoes that research shows may protect our skin from UV damage from sunburn. Naturally I have to protect my skin with a SUNSCREEN from a tube but I also eat these and also make Italian dishes with tomato paste which is loaded with lycopene. Since I have had a bad sunburn before I really never want to feel that again.
I also love a banana mask for dry elbows and knees. All you do is mash a banana and put it on those dry dull areas for the body. Or you can use it as a soothing hydrating face mask too.
If you crave a little crunch…mini baby carrots are a great go too instead of potato chips! Although I really love a bag of Kettle Chips! Your eyes and skin will love you too.
Grapes are hydrating bites of love that keep your skin looking good too.
Nuts and dried fruits are good for you snack too! You haven’t lived until you have tried dried cherries! I love them as a sweet treat alone or in a salad.
I’ve had my share of making up sports celebrities from NFL football players, sportscasters for FOX Sports, ABC, NBC,CBS and more. It is work with a view in the sky box some people envy and would be thrilled to be in my shoes!
My husband often says I am so ungrateful because between powdering their faces I read Allure magazine and European & Asian fashion magazines.
Now I find myself loving doing my thing, cooking and getting some yumminess ready for my husband to enjoy if he happens to watch the game. And taking care of ME and enjoying some self care time.
So with the pandemic I have more time and not on a plane ✈️ on the weekends for work. Sunday is now my day.
While the Super Bowl goes on I will cleanse, steam, detox, hydrate my skin, help my eye area, sip and play away! I might catch the half-time show. I’ll see how that goes.
If you’re not much into football?
Perhaps you’ll join in on the fun from your house and get all the essentials you need and want to use on your face and body. You may not have to look far. You might just have these kind of things at your house.
My Super Bowl Beauty Time!
So here’s my plan.
I’ll cut up a fresh lemon 🍋 and 🍊 orange and make fresh fruit infused water but not from tap. This time I’ll prepare it with sparkling Perrier water for a fun twist.
After I wash my face I am going to steam my skin with my Mini Nano Facial Steamer. So refreshing, helps the pores and makes my skin look dewy too.
I’ll rinse my face with Intrinsics natural cotton cloths.
Afterwards I’ll pull up all my hair away from face and into a ponytail and apply a honey hair mask that is like an Asian sheet mask for your hair. They work wonders!
I’ll use some Vitabird Vitamin C Powder to brighten the skin.
Next I’m going to use a Korean Beauty AKA K Beauty Cucumber 🥒 Face sheet mask.
I’ll use my Agate Gemstone Facial Roller to help massage yes goodness and ingredients in.
Then I am going to use my Inna Organic eye mask and give a treat to my eye area.
Keeping our skin well moisturized is so important and I am so crazy about Honey Chai lotion by FarmHouse Fresh. I’ll even leave it on my feet sometimes and put them in a pair of clean white cotton socks overnight.
While these are working their magic I’ll apply my Tealiscious Green Tea lip treatment on my lips. Great to use a bit outside the lip area as well. Especially if you have sun damage and or smoke or vape. Gotta take good care of those lips. Nowadays especially since we are wearing face covers and 😷 face masks even more!
Beauty Bonus:
If you’d like and have the time … earlier in the day or later while the game is going on. There is nothing like a bath! Really! A shower simply won’t do! Light up a faux or real candle, set the mood with your fave music 🎶 and get in a warm not hot bath. Either a bath bomb like a invigorating Watermelon scented Bath bomb by Bath Nectar or a bunch of bath bubbles.
Get lost in the bath and let those cares go away from the day or week! It not only makes you feel good but smells good and cleans your skin beautifully!
I hope you have a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday if you live in the USA and that you take some time even if it’s just 10 minutes for you.
Women I meet in my travels and in my private studio continue to ask me how to get their skin clean. They say they don’t have a clue on what to really do.
I tell them to NEVER go to sleep without washing your face or with the days makeup on (and remove every trace of mascara too) as well as getting a great nights sleep. That is why they call it beauty sleep.
I know that’s not always easy to get when you are sleepless in Seattle. But a good nights sleep is essential nightly as your skin needs it.
You need to make a plan and create a nightly beauty ritual and do it every night.
Do what’s right for you and select a skin care line that is so you. You can mix and match. A soap from one brand and a cream from another. But try and keep a few from the same line if possible so you don’t have an allergic reaction.
Just a few easy steps!
Clean:
You may use a soap bar (not deodorant) liquid soap but cream cleanser at night.
Tone:
Rosewater makes a refreshing toner. Stay away from strong alcohol based ones. Way too drying to the skin.
Nourish and Hydrate:
Choose a moisturizer that is light but at night you can use a richer one. It all depends on how your skin is behaving. Your skin changes as the seasons change and from stress or the weather outdoors. Your moisturizer must change to go with the flow.
Eye care:
A hydrating Eye gel or light eye cream is perfect. A little goes a long way.
And remember don’t scrub or rub your face like you’re washing your car or pots and pans. Be gentle with your delicate skin.
Always treat your neck and décolleté to what you put on your face. Not just your face!
So that’s it as far as a SIMPLE nightly skin ritual.

Great looking healthy skin takes a little ME time and effort DAILY!
In the summer our skin tends to break out or get dehydrated from the sun and outdoor activities even more. Here are the latest and greatest in grooming this summer and beyond!
Skin care exfoliation is very important for the guys too. Fruit Peel by celebrity esthetician Elina of Elina Organics will gently exfoliate your skin while you sleep.
Fresh Face Beard Bar is a new way to wash your beard and soften it up and clean the complexion underneath. You don’t want your beard or mustache to be dry and unkempt looking. It’ not enough just to wash your face. 🧼 Don’t use deodorant bars on that handsome face!
Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water.
Floss- Caring for your 🦷 and gums = A healthier heart. Cocofloss is the way to go made with Coconut oil.
A relaxing 🛀 bath with bath salts or your fave Aura Acacia essential oil, detoxifying sheet mask and a hand, feet and body lotion to follow work wonders on the body and skin after a long work day or week.
