Green is the new black

Sometimes you have to go to the basics and as I continue down the path of eating more clean, care even more about what I put on my face and BODY and love Mother Earth by recycling as much as I can.

I wanted a reminder to women that going green is beautiful. So, I am about to come out with a green lipstick hue to remind them. This fun hue stains the lips and puts you in a good mood too.

Whatever your emotion is…it will tell a story of your mood from deep pinkish rose to soft violet. Counting down to Earth day I think this lipstick is a perfect fit. GREEN LIPS photo 3-2017.JPGTake a walk on the green side. If you liked the mood ring …this is your thing!

On the Go again!

Never a dull moment. How’s life with you?

Starting to pack my makeup bags and luggage. I am so ready to work and rock  New York City too. As much as I travel for work and play…packing is always a challenge when I have to fly for my work.Between the beauty supplies needed as a working make-up artist. So many rules too much beauty and clothes! I want to take every lipstick and walk in closet with me!

Other than working which is my fave’ thing to! I look forward to taking it all in…the city that is and the many things it does for my spirit and soul.I miss living up north.

PS

Found this artist on Instagram who drew this playful illustration of me and my LOVE for makeup and all things LIPS!

I am wild about this shade …it is like a violet with a touch of pink ! Do you like this hue?

I am hoping to find clothes and accessories in this hue! May even create a lipstick in that shade for my cosmetic line too.

SPRING is calling me!

Stay tuned …I can’t wait to share my beauty, travel and food adventures from my trip with you!

When in doubt…throw it out Darlings!

BLOG Thorw it Out 1-2017.JPGAs the new year rings in… and things have calmed a bit think about your beauty and skin care products not just eating better and losing weight!

And now is the hard part. Smell them, shake them and see which you may have to part with.Yes, actually throw out and start fresh! Bad beauty isn’t very pretty and surely not healthy.

As a professional makeup artist I see ALL kinds of cosmetic bags. But some of my clients collections of makeup and their makeup bags frighten me!

  • Her bottle of foundation has turned green along with the beige hue.
  • Another clients  lipsticks had a horrific scent and didn’t glide on like silk.
  • Their eyeliners are so chopped up and the wood base is ready to rip out her cornea anytime.I know this was from not sharpening with the correct pencil sharpener.
  • Another clients nail polishes are turning yellow and green…it makes me want to scream!
  • The blush has such an oil build up on it I could fry french fries on the powder blush from her facial oil.
  • The skin care smells rancid and her sunscreen shakes very watery as it has lost its magic.

The truth is you can’t keep skincare, makeup, nail polish and more forever!!!

I know you love that fave’ shade they discontinued years ago but you’ve got to say goodbye to it. For the sake of your complexion and your health…this is a must. So, now with the  weekend here…perhaps you have some time my dear to play a game I call Let’s Throw It Out!

Restart your beauty game or your face and health won’t look the same.

The gift of …The Perfect Red Lipstick!

cropped-hot-lips.jpg

Last night I attended my first Christmas party of the season with my husband for his business. Over cocktails I quickly discovered women who loved my lips and wanted to know how can they too create the perfect red lip!

I thought you’d like to know this too.So here you go!

The Perfect Tips for Red Luscious Lips!

  • You must start fresh with clean hydrated lips.
  • Apply my  Kissy Lips lip exfoliating Treatment or make a mixture of brown sugar and honey for your lips.
  • Apply my Perfect day Lipstick base
  • Optional:Add  a coat of  China Doll lipstain next to make the color last even longer. It will stain the lips with a rosy stain and make the red hue cling better too.
  • Apply red lip liner or an invisible lip liner that is transparent yet locks color within the lip line.
  • Apply a luscious red lipstick or a red liquid lipstick (they are all the rage).
  • Blot your lips with a fresh tissue or blotting paper.(not powdered just plain)
  • Apply a second coat if you wish to make your pout look bolder.
  • DON’T rub your lips together. Little old ladies do that!

*To make this look even sexier like the makeup artists do in a VICTORIA SECRET runway shows or magazine shoot.Add a dash of a silver or gold lipstick Next add a super shiny gloss in the center of the lips for a sexy highlighted glow. A shimmery way to glow and make the lips look fuller!

You are ready to…Paint the town red,Gorgeous!

A red lipstick & gloss make the perfect gift for your bestie or family member!  Not all gifts need to be costly and over the top. Fill them in Christmas stocking and put a bow on it and give. At this time of year…everyone seems to pull out their best red lipstick, shoes, purse or dress. Make the lips the center of attention.
