If you happen to get a Purell wipes, towelettes from a restaurant after your meal or have some rubbing alcohol disinfectant pads. get out your lipstick tubes and lipgloss wands and disinfect those tubes!

1. Take the top off.

2. Roll up those tubes. Be gentle not all the way. Only up to where you’ve used the tube.

3. Swipe and wipe the lipstick itself all around.

4. Next wipe the tube packaging itself. You know lots of germs 🦠 are waiting for you there too.

5. Allow them to evaporate and dry and close the lids.

You’re all set, a quick disinfect and good to go! Safely! Protect those pretty lips!

Oh happy day…the time has come for my fave day of the YEAR!

National 💄 Lipstick Day.

I am sharing  all things LIPSTICK and lips on WJXT 4’S The Morning Show.

One of the most popular questions I get is “How do I get my lipstick to last?”

So, here you go!

You’ve got to take care of your lips on a regular basis. Not just when they are dry,peeling and flaky. So, this is a ritual I professionally recommend.

1st Gently exfoliate and brush your lips and the area around your lips with a lip polish. I am obsessed with Whoopie by FarmHouse Fresh. Kiss those dry and dead skin cells 👋 Bye Bye!

2nd Apply a lip mask (Yes, it’s a thing!)

3rd Prime with a lip base Perfect day Lip Base. This locks the color in place and makes the color last a bit longer. Especially red 💋 high pigmented lipsticks or glossy lip shades that may run.

4th My current go to is an invisible lip liner totally clear but keeps your lipstick in place and gives your lips shape and definition.

5th Apply a gorgeous lipstick! So many choices and formulas…it is truly not your mother’s or grandma’s lipstick anymore!

Now, if you want to make your lipstick shade last even longer without using the LIPSTICK Base. I ALSO cannot live without and use my lipstain called China Doll. It acts like a slip or beloved Spanx underneath your dress to make everything look marvelous. So when you apply a lipstick 💄 (any brand) over it …this stain makes them last a bit longer. Or you can simply use this lipstick solo and enjoy the healthy rosy glow hue!

What’s in my handbag you ask?

Business got in the way yesterday so I am posting this today. Many of you are curious what is in my handbag? So since this week we celebrated National Handbag Day… I decided it was the perfect time to share away.

First of all, I am not necessarily attracted to designer handbags. I purchase handbags like I do bling.I buy what calls out to me on the store shelf. I especially love buying things in my travels so I have a great memory attached to that bag. I used to buy souvenirs like coffee  mugs and tea towels but I stopped that long ago.

So as you can see by the photo in my blog I HAD to own this unique handbag. Isn’t it darling? No, I did not pay a fortune but would have and it does not hold a lot of things but I do love,love, love THIS shoulder strap bag. Don’t you?

Here is what is my handbag:

A mini hairbrush by WET BRUSH…my hair tangles fast and I love this brush.

A mini packet of NeoCell BEAUTY supplements they vary from time to time but this week it is Derma Matrix. I add it to a bottle of water or sprinkle on my food for pretty healthier hydrated skin.

Six assorted shade lipsticks. Cause I never know what mood I am in during a day.

BLACK gel eyeliner pencil. (Never want to be without it )

A pack of Asian powder papers to blot oil and powder my nose at one time.

My wallet with red lips by Betsy Johnson.

My change purse with lips all over it.

A Sharpie Marker in black and in red.

A mini legal pad.

A picture of my TWIN brother and my husband.

A mini pill box filled with aspirin,vitamins C and more.

A package of spearmint gum.

A tiny tin container of Altoids. ( Gotta be KISSABLE)

A business card holder filled with my cards.

To Do List…which changes and gets updated daily

A mini bottle of water if it will fit.

Fun Fact:

I clean out my purse at least once a week. I hate a MESSY inside handbag.

When in doubt…throw it out Darlings!

As the new year rings in… and things have calmed a bit think about your beauty and skin care products not just eating better and losing weight!

And now is the hard part. Smell them, shake them and see which you may have to part with.Yes, actually throw out and start fresh! Bad beauty isn’t very pretty and surely not healthy.

As a professional makeup artist I see ALL kinds of cosmetic bags.But some of my clients collections of makeup and their makeup bags frighten me!

• Her bottle of foundation has turned green along with the beige hue.
• Another clients  lipsticks had a horrific scent and didn’t glide on like silk.
• Their eyeliners are so chopped up and the wood base is ready to rip out her cornea anytime.I know this was from not sharpening with the correct pencil sharpener.
• Another clients nail polishes are turning yellow and green…it makes me want to scream!
• The blush has such an oil build up on it I could fry french fries on the powder blush from her facial oil.
• The skin care smells rancid and her sunscreen shakes very watery as it has lost its magic.

The truth is you can’t keep skincare,makeup,nail polish and more forever!!!

I know you love that fave’ shade they discontinued years ago but you’ve got to say goodbye to it. For the sake of your complexion and your health…this is a must.So, now with the  weekend here…perhaps you have some time my dear to play a game I call Let’s Throw It Out!

It’s Black MAGIC!

Halloween may be over but you can still RUN not walk to your nearest store and grab the ON SALE merchandise they are trying to DUMP! I know you’re thinking candy and I am with you on that. But I am really talking Black lipstick!
To me black lipstick is MAGIC!

Black lipstick is not just for Halloween or theatrical makeup.I like to use it to make new colors out of ugly lipsticks. You know ones that may be way too light or the color just doesn’t seem right.As a professional makeup artist here’s a pretty lipstick plan!

All you need is to line up your lipsticks you want to make darker or different and try one on!

Next place the black lipstick over it.

It may take some blending and playtime but you’ll explore all the possibilities and have so much fun doing it.

Here are some eco chic tips for your beauty or lifestyle routine.

Pour in a pretty bowl and place in a room in your house. The baking soda will suck up the stinky smell and you’ll love the scent of your room.

Left over water in a water bottle that you don’t want to drink anymore? DON’T water the pavement water a plant. Outside your house,inside your house or in the city you are in.FEEL good about not wasting water!

They make my lips and me HAPPY! 

On any given day you can peek into my handbag and you will find up to eight lipsticks and glosses combined. Some for color some for conditioning. Whoever invented them years ago needs a big juicy  kiss~

Color me! Gloss me! Tint me! Soothe me! Nourish me! Paint me! Exfoliate me! Shine me!

I am so very thankful for LUSCIOUS  lipsticks,glosses and balms! 

They protect my pout, add color to my complexion, protect me from skin cancer of the lips! And wearing them make me more KISSABLE!

They make me go from plain to… just plain sexy!
