Help me! My eyeshadow…

…Creases and I don’t know what to do! I use cream and powder shadows.

Creamy eye shadows usually contain waxes, oils and more which may accentuate lines.

Start by applying a sheer coat of foundation on your eyelids. This will create a barrier between your skin and the eye shadow shade.

Next I apply a shadow with a small eye shadow brush NOT my fingers. Between the oil from your fingers and the eye shadow it will help not add more oil.

Next, dust your eyelids with a light coat of translucent powder. I adore Chinese Rice Powder. But if you have another translucent powder brand you love use it!

The powder absorbs any excess oil.

If you still notice wrinkles look for a silicone not lanolin or mineral oil based eye shadow. You’ll get a smoother finish.

Hope this technique helps you with any eye shadow issues. Sometimes this helps even better than an eye shadow primer!

Chinese Rice Powder

Ancient Chinese Beauty…

I am an all American girl that happens to be Eurasian and my husband says I am a Combination Platter off the Chinese Take Out Menu. People ALWAYS ask me what is my nationality. Even more when I moved from up North to sunny Florida. When I moved here for my husband I was so in love ❤️ I forgave Florida for the HOT 🥵 temperatures and the horrific humidity. But as time went by I came to the conclusion I hate the heat and my makeup melting. I also noticed brides and bridal parties hated it too. So, I pulled out my little box of love for my complexion and made them look amazing. This box is my makeup savior and go to. I have used it on my face since I was a teen and now on my clients for TV work, red carpet beauty moments, photo shoots and for my brides and bridal parties. I use it on men too!

It is an Ancient Chinese Beauty secret handed down from generation to generation.

What is it?

A white looking brownie (yes like the Brownie we eat). It is a hard cake that becomes loose when stroked and applied with a Kabuki powder brush.

Beautiful Benefits?

  • It is feather light powder that makes your makeup last longer.
  • Makes your colors remain true especially when you have issues with your makeup turning colors and helps them remain true.
  • Great for oily skin and complexions with a bit of acne
  • Tones down shine!
  • Sets your makeup!

But wait there’s MORE!

When I make up my face or a client’s face and I accidentally put a bit more blush on or eye shadow too overpowering or doesn’t look right….I simply take a brush, dip into my rice powder and clean up,soften and blend it out.

Oh and not only does it look great on brides and photographs nicely. It also is great for women of a certain age who get steamy and hot flash! Calms the heat and the powder cools the skin with a soft matte finish.

If  YOU or your friends makeup is missing that little something or you crave all things Asian Beauty and or something new this is for YOU!

I don’t think I could live without IT alongside a gorgeous 💄 Lipstick of course!

Sometimes less is more!

FALL is definitely here maybe not so much in Florida 🌴🌞 where I now live but it is here.

As we choose a new look in makeup for fall… I think sometimes less is better!  I love to do a soft and pretty makeup look.  And I love to make up my clients in a soft kiss of color way. Yes, a deeper lipstick is always a good idea.

But you don’t have to go over the top with your makeup!  Now, if you love a lot of it and like it on your face all at one time … I get you.

I am a beauty lover too!!!

But if you are intimidated with makeup and applying it…Don’t be. Just apply a lipstick 💄 and eye 👁 liner.

I have met so many women in my career who say they are so frightened and tell me they suffer with makeup. You don’t have to suffer with it EVER!

It’s OK to apply your makeup softly and not wear it all! Really!

BACK from working at a ginormous Hair and Spa show!

Just came back from educating at the Premeire Orlando and Premiere Day Spa shows.

How fun and exciting it was! Not my first time there but it still gives me a thrill. There’s a special electricity on the show floor. My class room warmed the room with eager beauty professionals wanting to learn all I had to teach and share.photo of woman leaning on pole

This SUMMER it is all about bold lipsticks and sexy shimmery hues. NUDE is put on hold a bit this season.

The NYFW Fall-Winter 2019 Beauty Looks That Convinced Me to Start Wearing Makeup Again — StyleCaster

Which ones your fave…and giving you inpsiration for a new look this year?

I love quie a few.

Though I’m not particularly obsessed with celebrity culture, I am admittedly one of those people who can still go on Instagram and start liking popular posts without going overboard. In short, that means a red carpet moment or the occasional Shade Room update isn’t completely off the table. And come February, my thumbs are working…

Backstage Beauty

IMG_4365.jpg

This morning I took the TV viewers on River City Live to a Backstage BEAUTY Pass… to Fashion week.

Makeup artists who work behind the scenes work tirelessly painting, primping, pampering and and above all hydrating the skin!

It is all about the skin. If the skin does not look it’s best the makeup won’t look the best.

TwinMedix: These essentials got some complexions on the right track with an advanced skin care collection!

Embryolisse: A French delight that models and makeup artist can’t get enough of for gorgeous skin.

Danessa Myricks Beauty: Her Beauty Oils and Dew Balm gives the skin the glowiest look!

Waleda Skin Food: Is another moisturizing lotion that some models request.

Sheet masks from Korea were yet another instant prettier skin fix!

Jade and  Rose Quartz gemstone eye and face rollers: were used to relax the face and make the makeup glide on like silk after a moisturizer or serum was applied.

I’ve even seen silver spoons used in an ice bath and applied to the face for puffy complexions at fashion shows! Or the makeup artists use spoons dry and at room temperature ones are used to curl the eyelashes.stainless steel spoon

Rosebud Salve: A pro FAVE’ was used for unruly tresses, chapped lips and to give the skin a glowy look. This is in my makeup kit too.

The NO MAKEUP Makeup Look made a big appearance BUT it takes makeup and lots of work to achieve the look.

Aquaphor is another lip and face product that is seen behind the scenes.

Makeup Brushes: There are plenty used and  in all shapes and sizes. There is a brush and sponge for every part of the face and body. Powder puffs rule too!

One of brands of nail polish used was Essie. Who doesn’t love it? One of the hot hues used was Licorice. A deep gray black shade of sexy.

Mellow to Yellow…

Move aside, Millennial Pink, Gen Z yellow might be this year’s new It-color, as seen by the dozens of celebrities and influencers who are flaunting the bright canary yellow on their clothes, furniture, and most importantly, eyelids. Since spring has begun, we’ve been seeing more and more stars—from A-list actors such as Margot Robbie to Instagram…

New York Fashion week Beauty… a bit late!

That Hurricane IRMA has me drained, exhausted and not my usual self. So, forgive for the delay on this post. I did not make it to NYC for fashion week this year but I did chat with a few of my friends on what they did or saw behind the beauty scene.

Rumor has it my fav’ things were hot in NYFW fashion week this year!

One is an Ancient Chinese Secret now once again let out of the beauty bag you may know I have used for years on myself and on my clients. This double sided wonder is a fan of Asian Royalty where they used it in gold down to now the everyday woman in jade. One side is for the eye area and one for the face.Rolling in circular motions and upward strokes it brings a beautiful glow to the face. The women of the Orient would use it for ant-aging. One cool tool. Now, model’s and makeup artists covet it.NB8J0393

Another is Rosebud Perfume Companies of salves called Rosebud Salve. The original lips salve is used on the lips, top of the cheeks,on the shoulders and added to a baby tooth brush to groom brows in place or pesky hairs around the face.

At NYFW and other beauty events they also used the infamous sheet mask and more. I  too LOVE, LOVE, LOVE K Beauty anything and these instant gratification wonders! They really are magical! Therapispa has an KBeauty Essence your skin will love.

Not your basic everyday toner or skin freshener. It too gives the skin another layer of love!

And the cat eye lined eye is still holding it’s beauty reign.

The  infamous makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury worked her magic with a shimmer and contour stick and illuminated and chiseled the skin. She is always on point!

That’s all the buzz I have to share tonight.

I hope you explore some of these beauty secrets and get glowing!

My Take on the 2017 Golden Globes…

I was called out of town so I could not post about the Golden Globes until now. BUT on Sunday I was glued to the TV screen. One hand on the TV remote and another with my cell phone.

From the Opening of the show…Jimmy Fallon just doesn’t fit this role to me.

I was Facebooking,Tweeting and simply could not get to Instagraming.I took notes feverishly so I could remember it all while taking it all in for my blog post.Who worked  the best look to you?

Let’s hear it for the GUYS!

Ryan Gosling looked dapper in white and black.Every hair in place and skin that glowed.

Ryan Reynolds seems to always looks good.

Justin Timberlake as ALWAYS looked amazing. And what can’t this guy do?

SLY Stallone is aging with handsome grace. So love him!

Denzel, he always does it for me.Just the sound of his voice.

Never get tired of Brad Pitt he looked handsome and his skin had a golden hue.

However, for a lot of the men the MEN’s  grooming was no where to be found with bushy beards and scruffy looks. Some may be preparing or in the middle of shooting a movie but it appeared scruffy beards were in! Or the actors simply didn’t care. They may have just liked scruffy look!

As for the ladies…

Tracee Ellis Ross looked amazing and always rocks that CLASSIC red lip! Didn’t she?

Goldie Hawn always a knock out for her age.

Jessica Chastain  breasty and gorgeous  in that  blue hue!

Nicole Kidman,Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon never disappoint!

Sarah Jessica Parker aka SJP disappointed me with her hot mess dress and the hair was so off too!

Meryl Streep’s dress reminded me of her Christmas day outfit in all the shades of it sparkling in red, silver and green. I don’t know if she dresses herself every year she attends these type shows but she is never on point.

Can we talk about …

GLEAM BODY RADIANCE

Priyanka Chopra’s PERFECTLY contoured & bodacious breasts? I think she is gorgeous! I wish I looked like her.

Peaches and cream skinned Emma Stone looked awesome from head to toe.

I always get a kick out of Amy Schumer.

Naomi Campbell rocked that pink dress and glistened.

YELLOW and golden nude gowns were popular hues!

Fun BEAUTY FACTS…

Viola Davis not only wore that happy and sexy yellow dress… She also rocked a lotion called GLEAM by Melanie Mills in a deep gold shade on her body. Oh and if you like her makeup as much as I did…Autumn Moultrie did the gorgeous makeup!!!

Kristen Bell wore a BUTT LIFT undergarment and flaunted it on Instagram.

Kayleen McAdams did the makeup on Sofia Vergara. While her nude like dress fit her like a glove it reminded me of many others there and that is trending.

Lots of the celebrities hair locks were styled by celebrity stylists with Pantene hair products.

While L’oreal was a sponsor and the products were used on some of the celebrities.

But I wondered where all those makeup artists were with the infamous powder puff! This very shiny face look was seen on many celebrities.Guys and gals! Did you notice that?

I wanted to jump in on my TV screen and powder their noses and faces.

A popular eyelash used was by KISS lashes…lash couture a $6.00 beauty buy!

They sipped Moet rose at the globes but on some they needed to gloss up and lipstick up because the lipstick looked lack luster or barely there after sipping. No touch ups? Where was the Glam Squad or a  touch up of lipstick and powder in their purse.

If I wasn’t going out of town I would have posted more to this blog but packing my luggage was a priority. I hope you like my take on the Globes and a few beauty secrets along the way.I enjoy watching these shows and going to the movies. But always remember…celebrities are just like you and like me. The difference is they have a job with a huge salary and they get paid to look healthy, glam and good. Don’t worship them.We really don’t even know them. We know the characters they play.

They are actors and they ACT for a living!
