Your Vanity…a little space just for YOU!

For those of you who love 💕 makeup and to put on your 💄 makeup this post is for you. For those of you who don’t use much makeup you’ll still enjoy it and learn something new!

Self-care Sunday is all about taking care of yourself and have a little fun doing it!

Now to make your life easier and beauty rituals you need to carve out an area just for you and all your beauties too.

Just make sure you don’t arrange your makeup and skincare directly in the sun ☀️ sunlight. It will ruin your makeup and skincare formulas, lighten your hues, and make your makeup melt too.

I like to separate and organize my makeup brushes, blushes, eyeshadows, 💄 lipsticks and more in a pretty way. I’ve used and repurposed antique plates, tea cups or wine 🍷 goblets. I have also have found some gorgeous display items at TJMaxx, Kirkland’s, Hobby Lobby and more. You DON’T have to spend a fortune $

The important thing is that all your products and things are at your fingertips! Ready when you are.

Another thing I found was from a cocktail 🍸 container. Allow me to explain. I enjoy entertaining with a product called Cocktail Caviar and I love the jar. I couldn’t stand to throw the empty container out. So, I cleaned the jar out and filled with fluffy pink 💕 cotton balls I found! It has a lid so dust doesn’t get on them and keeps them dust free.

See below!

I love Mother Earth 🌍 and have learned to recycle more! It feels good to do it too.

I like to add a fresh seasonal 💐 🌸 🌻 flowers to my space. And I also keep an aloe plant 🌱 on my vanity just in case. Aloes are great for sunburns, curling iron burns and any allergic reactions that come up on the skin!

A hand mirror is always a good idea too! Not just the main one on the wall.

I also keep bottles of sparkling water 💦 and mini bottles of 🍾 Champagne in a mini fridge by my vanity. It is  by Cooluli…I store my face masks, creams, toners, jade roller, agate roller, massage stones, makeup in.

What do you do?

Mom BEAUTY

Mom’s To Be and new Mommy’s I hope you will love these tips!

MOMMY BLOG IMG_5800

  • Choose a simple skin care line for your skin type. Seek a beauty professional for their recommendations if possible. If your skin is acting up with breakouts even more so. If you really have issues consult your dermatologist.
  • Add a probiotic dietary supplement your beauty routine. Beauty from the inside out. Ask your doctor first if you’d like.I highly recommend Flora Prenatal Probiology by Belle +Bella.
  • Use a tinted moisturizer and skip the foundation or use a lighter formula powder foundation.
  • Bronzing powder can be your go to all in one product. You can use it as your blush, soft eye shadow, eyeliner and more. To make gorgeous lips just mix it with a clear gloss or lip balm.
  • Think about using clear mascara that defines lashes but with no color.
  • Buy multi-tasking makeup brushes. One’s that are two or four brushes in one. You don’t need to use a 12 pc. collection/brush set.
  • It is not just about applying  stretch mark cream or vitamin e oil. YOU want to smell good and have softer skin too! Instead of a perfume or cologne choose a double duty product like a hand and body lotion with a touch of fragrance. (and you’ll be washing your hands a lot too) Both a win/win. Try a few refreshing ones by Therapispa.I love the White Tea with natural shea butter.Or Sweet Cream Body Milk Hans and body lotion for your 👛 purse by FarmHouse Fresh . applying body lotion care cosmetic productPhoto by Linda Prebreza on Pexels.com
  • You are going to be hot and hormonal!!! Keep your face cool by using a Rosewater by Noreen Young Cosmetics or Orange Face Mists by Therapispa and healthy with spa water you can make at home and carry with you too.
  • Having a heat wave? Check out and wear a fashion accessory you can cool off with called  Hot Girls Pearls. Simply freeze the necklace for 4 hours and enjoy and look fashionable too. http://www.hotgirlspearls.com
  • Sometimes just wearing a BB or cream,a bold lipstick 💄 or gloss and a pair of sunglasses 🕶 are all you need to LOOK put together and feel it too!
  •  BONUS: Here is my recipe for…cooling foot 🦶 relief.
  • D.I.Y. Recipe for a summer 🌞 foot soak for tired moms, swollen ankles and leg swelling. Simply grab a handful of Epsom salts and add a drop or two of Aura Cacia Peppermint essential oil to a warm water foot bath. If you can tolerate it with  cold water even better. Aaaahh!

Hotel Room Beauty!

I LOVE to travel. Travel changes our lives!

So recently I stayed at one of my fave hotels that you can always count on…Hampton Inn. While I love staying at a luxury hotel, I also love a good basic hotel. I look forward to staying there, know what to expect and know where everything is at the hotel.

The best part when time allows or I get to check in early or have a morning or night turn my room into a spa. Here is what I like to do and perhaps turn you on to some of these ideas too.

I always pack epsom salts, a luxe bath bomb and a mini bottle of bubble bath. You never know when you might just have time for a relaxing foot soak or bubble bath.

I also pack a hair conditioning treatment and turn the hotels shower cap and a blow dryer into a salon like treatment to my hair.

IMG_1101.JPG

Next, I go to the hotel’s coffee pot and hot water carafe refreshment stand and get some hot water, lemon or lemon packet and pour myself a up of hot water. Drinking hot OR warm) lemon water is wonderful for hydration as well as for digestion especially at the beginning or end of the day.

I also get a kick out of the adorable paper cups and cup holders they have for guys and gals. Too cute!

IMG_1104.JPG

Next, I love to wash my face before bed and treat myself to a face mask! Feels so good.

Sometimes I have forgotten to pack my makeup remover so I LOVE that the hotel as they usually have Makeup Wipes for us in the bathroom. So awesome and of course to the rescue!!!

I hate and HATE going to sleep with makeup on and have not done it since I was around 20 years old after a late date. Ya gotta clean your face girls!

They also have a variety of newspapers I can get caught up with on the national and international news in print.

IMG_1105

When time allows I like to use their special soaps that look like this. The soap bar works wonders for deep cleaning makeup brushes in a pinch. Especially if they get really dirty while you’re making up on the road or you traveled with them dirty and have some sprare time to refresh and clean them.

It also makes a nice bath bar. I love to rub those soapy bumps on my butt and thighs! Revs up circulation too!

IMG_1100

I also like to use the honey packets from the breakfast area for tea as a hydrating skin softening treat in my room and add rest in a cup of hot chamomile tea before bed.

As you CAN create a spa in your room and pamper yourself when you travel for work or play too. Take care of your body and it will take care of you!

Happy Travels!

PS

My husband benefits from the above too. HE too has gotten in on the action!

Time to say “Goodbye” to the old…

And “IN” with the NEW!

It is the perfect way to start the new year!

Shampoo, hair treatments, makeup, skincare, eyelash curlers, makeup brushes, body lotions, fragrance and more. Today I showed on TV on River City Live on WJXT.COM I featured these tips and more.

How do you do this?

selective focus photography of makeup brushes

Photo by Bryan Schneider on Pexels.com

Sniff and take a look at your products. If your lipstick smells funky, your nail polish is turning three shades it wasn’t, your makeup not moving when you apply it. Time to throw them out. Mositurizer or body lotion not what it used to look like? Time to throw them out. Your skin health and health depends on it!

Your eyelash curler not curling? Time for a new one or replace the rubber liner inside.

Makeup Brush hairs falling out and the metal band hurting your skin? Time to buy replacements!

Makeup sponges crumbling while you do your makeup? Replace them! Powder puff in your compact dirty as hell and hasn’t been washed in months. Get news ones and throw that dam thing out!

MASCARA the leading culprit of eye infections. Throw it out every three or four  months.  You don’t want to welcome pink eye.

Shampoo and hair conditioner not working for you anymore? Throw it out.

Wood Pencils for eyes and lips cutting your eyes and lips. Buy new ones and start anew.

Your sonic tooth brush head and face cleansing unit brush needs to be replaced too!

Haven’t used a beard or hair dye product that you opened  in a long time? Throw it out. As time goes by it will lose it’s potency and the ingredients will change.

Your razor needs to be replaced or new blades need to be bought and start new.

Your perfume or after shave doesn’t smell as sexy or fabulous as it used to? Use it as a bathroom deodorizer. Don’t wear it any longer.Trust me. You will not smell good.

Got the picture? Like I always say…like MILK your products have expiration dates.

Makeup FUN!

Doing your makeup should not be a chore! It should be fun!!!  IMG_2167.JPG

These makeup brushes swam into my makeup studio this week and are mermaid approved…This shipment really made our shoppers HAPPY to shop my studio Saturday too. I always like to offer the fun factor and spice things up. Aren’t they cute?

They are so lightweight. There are 4 different sizes. They are used to softly contour, can be used to apply blush or powder your face up. The smallest of them all can also be used to blend eye shadow. No they are not sable and yes the handles are not made of wood or bamboo. BUT they are fun and shout “Pick me up and play with me!”

You shouldn’t ever think makeup is a chore. It should be fun and oh so much more. I can’t stop swirling color on face with them. Not all your makeup brushes have to be the same basic ones.

So, get out there and treat yo’self  to something that makes you smile and paint your face  & feel playful and prettier too.

It’s only Natural…

That you want a healthy recipe to wash your makeup brushes with!NB8J8503

Hello my dahlings…Give your brushes a bath this weekend!!!

You’d be surprised how dirty your used brushes really are and what comes out of them.

1 1/2 tablespoons of white vinegar

1-2 tablespoons Castile soap

1 cup of warm water

12 drops of lavender or just plain Tea Tree oil

Wash, rinse well and squeeze out by pressing any residue and makeup colors out of the brush.Rest them on a paper towel over night.

  • DO NOT put the brush handle or silver/metal into the brush bath…ONLY the hair. You will destroy the brush.
  • Wash your brushes and sponges at least once a week. If you won’t do that do it at least twice a month. Dirty makeup brushes and sponges = a not so pretty complexion.

Keep them looking clean, beautiful and your face looking gorgeous too!

D.I.Y. for Cleaning Your Vegan,Cruelty Free Synthetic Makeup Brushes

Hello Gorgeous!

If you want your skin to look flawless you gotta do this! DIRTY brushes = A dirty looking unpolished face.

How-to Care for & Clean Makeup Brushes Oils from skin and dust adhere to brushes and can cause much dreaded breakouts. It is important to clean your  brushes regularly.

Quick Dry Method: Dampen a section of a paper towel with a Fast Drying Brush Cleaner and wipe brush from side to side. As the towel gets dirty, dampen another section and repeat. Not only will this clean the brushes, but the Brush Cleaner evaporates quickly for a clean brush that’s ready to go!

Shampoo & Conditioner: You can use a mild baby shampoo or an liquid soap. Rinse brush head gently under lukewarm water, with the brushes at a 45 degree angle pointing down, using fingers to massage Shampoo/Soap to hair. Apply in the direction of the hair from ferrule towards top. (Ferrule: The metal part of the brush between the hair and handle). Rinse gently under running water, thoroughly.

If you’d like, follow as above with conditioner. Gently reshape the head of the brush and lay flat over the edge of a table or counter so that the bristles are open to the air on all sides. Allow to completely dry for a few hours and then simply hand fluff back to shape.

****Be careful not to let any cleaner or water run inside the ferrule (the metal part of the brush between the hair and handle). This can weaken the glue used to hold the hair and cause shedding problems or even loosen the handles.

Always lay brushes flat to dry. Do not use a blow dryer – this will cause the hair to frizz!

With proper care, a quality (Not dollar store) brushes can be enjoyed for years.

But remember that synthetic brushes don’t last as long as sable and other hairs.
