Prepping for my Super šŸˆ Bowl!

I’ve had my share of making up sports celebrities from NFL football players, sportscasters for FOX Sports, ABC, NBC,CBS and more. It is work with a view in the sky box some people envy and would be thrilled to be in my shoes!

My husband often says I am so ungrateful because between powdering their faces I read Allure magazine and European & Asian fashion magazines.

Now I find myself loving doing my thing, cooking and getting some yumminess ready for my husband to enjoy if he happens to watch the game. And taking care of ME and enjoying some self care time.

So with the pandemic I have more time and not on a plane āœˆļø on the weekends for work. Sunday is now my day.

While the Super Bowl goes on I will cleanse, steam, detox, hydrate my skin, help my eye area, sip and play away! I might catch the half-time show. I’ll see how that goes.

If you’re not much into football?

Perhaps you’ll join in on the fun from your house and get all the essentials you need and want to use on your face and body. You may not have to look far. You might just have these kind of things at your house.

My Super Bowl Beauty Time!

So here’s my plan.

I’ll cut up a fresh lemon šŸ‹ and šŸŠ orange and make fresh fruit infused water but not from tap. This time I’ll prepare it with sparkling Perrier water for a fun twist.

After I wash my face I am going to steam my skin with my Mini Nano Facial Steamer. So refreshing, helps the pores and makes my skin look dewy too.

I’ll rinse my face with Intrinsics natural cotton cloths.

Afterwards I’ll pull up all my hair away from face and into a ponytail and apply a honey hair mask that is like an Asian sheet mask for your hair. They work wonders!

I’ll use some Vitabird Vitamin C Powder to brighten the skin.

Next I’m going to use a Korean Beauty AKA K Beauty Cucumber šŸ„’ Face sheet mask.

I’ll use my Agate Gemstone Facial Roller to help massage yes goodness and ingredients in.

Then I am going to use my Inna Organic eye mask and give a treat to my eye area.

Keeping our skin well moisturized is so important and I am so crazy about Honey Chai lotion by FarmHouse Fresh. I’ll even leave it on my feet sometimes and put them in a pair of clean white cotton socks overnight.

While these are working their magic I’ll apply my Tealiscious Green Tea lip treatment on my lips. Great to use a bit outside the lip area as well. Especially if you have sun damage and or smoke or vape. Gotta take good care of those lips. Nowadays especially since we are wearing face covers and 😷 face masks even more!

Beauty Bonus:

If you’d like and have the time … earlier in the day or later while the game is going on. There is nothing like a bath! Really! A shower simply won’t do! Light up a faux or real candle, set the mood with your fave music šŸŽ¶ and get in a warm not hot bath. Either a bath bomb like a invigorating Watermelon scented Bath bomb by Bath Nectar or a bunch of bath bubbles.

Get lost in the bath and let those cares go away from the day or week! It not only makes you feel good but smells good and cleans your skin beautifully!

I hope you have a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday if you live in the USA and that you take some time even if it’s just 10 minutes for you.

Day 16 of MY Beauty Secrets

I have super sensitive skin! So I often like to whip up my own potions for my skin. This is one of my go to’s especially when my skin is needs it.

What you will need is:

First wash your face…

1 Ripe šŸ„‘ Avocado

1/4 cup of oatmeal (uncooked)

Avocado, honey & oat face and neck mask

2 tablespoons of raw organic honey šŸÆ

Mix well all of the above ingredients.

If you are allergic to any ingredients do not use them all.

Apply the mixture to your face. I also like to include my neck too.

It may be a bit messy but so worth it!

Allow it to rest on your face for at least 15 minutes.

Wash off your face with a lukewarm washcloth drenched with water.

The honey and avocado moisturize your skin. The oatmeal calms and soothes.

Great to do this once or twice a month.

I hope enjoy this creamy hydrating treat for your skin.

Enjoy!

EGGS GLOrious eggs

brown egg with leaf

Photo by Wendy van Zyl on Pexels.com

I so love eggs. They are little bundles of joy for making so many recipes and things and you know they are so good for our health.

I use eggs on my face. My sister uses egg shells to make art. I use eggs for making quiche, fry eggs in a wok and for making these egg cupcakes.

Don’t you love ā¤ļø the way that sounds?

I enjoy making these and I thought I’d share them with you!

What you will need:

12 medium eggs

2 cups of baby spinach

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 diced ham steak

1 small tomato, chopped OR add a few baby tomatoes whole

Pre-heat oven to 350 Grease a 12 cup muffin tin.

Whisk and mix all of the above together (But hold off on the spinach leaves) and pour in a cupcake or muffin tin. Add a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Stir in spinach, ham, tomatoes.

Use a 1/3 cup measure and scoop mixture into each muffin cup.

Bake in oven until eggs are puffed and the center is set. Approx. 20 minutes.

Place a small pat of butter on each one when done before serving.

If you want to make these with another cheese…try it. You will find yourself and your sweetie or family wanting even more.

GLOrious Face Mask

Want tighter skin and a glow?  Take a farm fresh organic egg and crack it separating the egg white from the yolk. Add a dash of lemon. Whisk on. Place on a clean face. Enjoy for 15 -20 minutes. It will stiffen up on your face.

Rinse with a a smidge of facial cleanser or facial soap on a luke warm wash cloth.

Follow with a cotton pad with a rosewater facial toner.

Add a dollop of moisturizer and eye cream or gel and get some ZZZZ’s. Wake up refreshed and glowing.

Protect your Neck

Just for kicks and to tighten my skin. I like to make an egg white neck mask. Simply whisk up one egg and place on your neck towards your chest. All you need is a thin coat.. Leave this DIY mask on at least 15 minutes. Rinse and hydrate with your favorite moisturizer and paint the town red!

Even if it is just social distancing with your bestie or sweetie for a drink of lemonade in the back yard patio this 4th weekend.

All Eyes on YOU!

If your practicing social distancing and doing the right thing by wearing a face cover or mask your face is not fully seen when you are out and about. That is why your eyes are NOW the center of attention. Here are a few tips I shared on TV yesterday that you might want to consider and ADD to your EYE beauty routine.

Quarantine Fatigue is a real thing I have it too. We look tired even if we got rest. bUt you can do something about it. GUYS can do some of these tips too.

Refrigerate your eye gel or eye cream. It will FEEL so cool and refreshing when you apply it.

Cucumbers DO work when you place those thin slices on each eye and close your eyes and take a quick nap to rest. Bye Bye Puffy stressed out eyes.

Buy eye masks made of gel or paper or in capsule form…they are filled with ingredients to hydrate, calm and brighten up the eyes.

Experiment with a salmon or yellow concealer. Tap on a few dots under and around the eyes. Pat and blend in softly with your fingers.

I think and always  say “An eye lash curler is like a BOOB Job for your lashes! It lifts them and curls them and is great to use even if you don’t have mascara available. Especially if you are out of your fave mascara.

If you don’t want your mascara to run and smear down and around your eyes…Try Blinc mascara. They say “Don’t paint your lashes tube them.”  The brand does NOT run and you won’t have racoon eyes either. Defines the lashes nicely and removes the tube coating  on your lashes with warm water and a washcloth. Unlike any other mascara you ever tried.

OR use a CLEAR mascara for definition without a tint.

As for wearing eye shadow try wearing a single color like a matte nude, champagne or soft gold hue. Don’t fuss with lots of color. Just add this to highlight your eyes.

Line the eyes with a cocoa, gray, or blue. I live in a creamy gel pencil eyeliner. But I love to define my eyes in this color. If your eyes are deep set or you have tired looking appearance you might want to steer clear from black. Just keep it simple. Especially for the day and the times were in.

I hope you enjoyed these tips and tricks just for your eyes!

Take care of yourself NOW more than ever.

Night Time IS the Right Time! ā°

Women I meet in my travels and in my private studio continue to ask me how to get their skin clean. They say they don’t have a clue on what to really do.

I tell them to NEVER go to sleep without washing your face or with the days makeup on (and remove every trace of mascara too) as well as getting a great nights sleep. That is why they call it beauty sleep.

I know that’s not always easy to get when you are sleepless in Seattle. But a good nights sleep is essential nightly as your skin needs it.

You need to make a plan and create a nightly beauty ritual and do it every night.

Do what’s right for you and select a skin care line that is so you. You can mix and match. A soap from one brand and a cream from another. But try and keep a few from the same line if possible so you don’t have an allergic reaction.

Just a few easy steps!

Clean:

You may use a soap bar (not deodorant) liquid soap but cream cleanser at night.

Tone:

Rosewater makes a refreshing toner. Stay away from strong alcohol based ones. Way too drying to the skin.

Nourish and Hydrate:

Choose a moisturizer that is light but at night you can use a richer one. It all depends on how your skin is behaving. Your skin changes as the seasons change and from stress or the weather outdoors. Your moisturizer must change to go with the flow.

Eye care:

A hydrating Eye gel or light eye cream is perfect. A little goes a long way.

And remember don’t scrub or rub your face like you’re washing your car or pots and pans. Be gentle with your delicate skin.

Always treat your neck and dƩcolletƩ to what you put on your face. Not just your face!

So that’s it as far as a SIMPLE nightly skin ritual.

Blackheads are rearing their ugly heads…

anise aroma art bazaar

Once they come to the surface. That is why they call them blackheads the dreadedĀ  clogged pore!Ā

Sometimes blackheads come from an over worked sebaceous gland. Not washing your face good enough at night and more.

Here is my go to D.I.Y. recipe for telling them goodbye!

2 teaspoons of cornmeal (I grind it fine in my coffee grinder)

1 teaspoon of Chinese or any other clay mask powder

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

2 teaspoons of plain yogurt (I prefer Greek)

bottle container cream creamy

Mix all of the above in a bowl. Let it rest. The cornmeal will get creamy and the clay will soften together. Stir and apply the mix on a wet face that you FIRST splashed with water. Apply to your face with a clean MASK brush or your fingers. Stay away from your eye area. I like to focus my attention to the T-zone or wear there may be a stubborn blackhead. Rinse with warm water and your fav’ cleanser and rinse again.

Your face will look better, skin tighter and the blackhead be gone (fingers crossed).

Beauty TIPS:

  • If you are still partying and have guests over this long weekend. Before your guests arrive or even if it is you alone with your pet. Prep with a ripe avocado face mask for softer skin while you cook.
  • You can also apply a hair mask on your hair and place a shower cap over it. Your body heat from running around the kitchen will make it work faster and condition your hair.
  • Put your sandals on and apply a dash of olive oil on your toes and condition your toes and nails while you whiz around the house with that vacuum cleaner.

Double duty beauty time and get your cooking, cleaning and beauty fix in too!

Because you asked…MY Skin Care Rituals!

Beauty Infusion

The most common question I get asked is what areĀ  MY daily skin rituals?

So, because so many of you have asked I decided to share it with you.

#1 I take care of my skin!

NO secret there. I never go to sleep with the end of the days makeup on. No matter how tired I am or how much champagne IĀ  might have enjoyed at a beauty event or at a party that evening.I always remove my makeup and wash my face well.

My main goal is to have healthy looking clear (blemish free skin) skin and also want to be healthy from within!

I love to spray my face with rosewater during the day.I also set my makeup with it.

I don’t wear lots of foundation.I apply it where I need it. I am not fond of looking at a couple ofĀ  sunspots I got from sunbathing when I first moved to Florida.I like an even lookingĀ  complexion.

I am a “water girl”…I drink tons of it!!!

I drink bottled water and also enjoy drinking a special water called All Beauty Water. I rarely drink soda or other sweet drinks.

After I wake up I drink a cup of hot water with a squeeze of lemon. This is my go to!!!

My mother taught me this since I was a little girl. She drank this daily. Then I drink either coffee or aromatic jasmine tea. Sometimes depending how my day is going to be I drinkĀ  Italian coffee with a pot I bought in Italy I got addicted to it on trips to Italy.

I take Belle + BellaĀ Ā  ProbiologyĀ  capsule probiotic daily. It really helps me to maintain healthy skin from within…the gut~

I also love to drink my collagen and wear it too with NeoCell‘s new collagen supplement in powder form and my standby Beauty Infusion powder skin supplements by NeoCell too. Just add them to water, sip and go! My skin LOVES it and it shows.

Since moving from NYC/NJ to sunnyĀ  Florida for my husband I have gotten smarter and learned to love adding a sunscreen to my beauty skin routine. After meeting countless women with weathered sun damaged skin,I simply had to.

I also learned a good pair of sunglasses “sunnies” are a healthy addition to my fashion/SKINcare wardrobe.”They protect your eyes as well as the skin around your eyes where squinting wrinkles form.

I love to eat fresh fruits and vegetables. I buy them almost on a daily basis.Fresh is BEST! They do wonders for your skin.I love to visit Asian market and stores and farmers markets or shop at Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe’s.

I love supporting small biz farmers vegetable and fruit stands when I travel too! This weekend I am going to enjoy steamed veggies, yummy salads with edible flowers,I’ll make some blueberry sangria and a bit of naughty. Not sure what that naughty will be.

When I want to eat candy I love Sweet Pete’s in Jacksonville Florida or shop Dylan’s Candy Bar in NYC or pop in the Sugar Factory in LV…but sinceĀ  sweets age your skin faster I put myself on pause and eat a Beauty Burst by NeoCell. It is like candy for your skin. It has wonderful bonusesĀ  for skin, nails and my hair and tastes like a StarBurst’s chewy candy.Taking vitamins never tasted or feels so good.

Since I LOVE natural I am going to make my skin a treat! I use this mask before I put on makeup. I vary using different fresh recipes I have created through the years.

An Oatmeal & Coconut Milk Face Mask

Try this recipe if you like to D.I.Y.face mask:

3 ounces of ground oats

1 1/2 ounces of coconut milk

Optional: Grind a small vanilla bean into the oats.It will smell amazing!

Mix dry with the wet ingredients and add a dash of fresh whole milk if it is not moist enough.

Apply to a clean face and leave on about 10-15 minutes.

The Beauty Benefits?

Great for all skin types including sensitive skin. It adds moisture to your complexion and gently exfoliates dry flaky skin too. I prefer to leave it on 10 minutes or so. Rinse mask off withĀ  warm water and a washcloth. Add any one of theĀ  moisturizer’s on my shelf and apply Young Eyes eye gel.

I also will slice some cold cucumbers and place one of each on my eye lids and rest my eyes. I truly think music is healting to the soul and calms the spirit. My fav’ is listening to the beautiful music of George Skaroulis “Sanctuary or David Young’s “Bliss”. If you don’t know their music you need to!

Hope you enjoyed a peek inside my skin care rituals.

I embrace my not so perfect lovely face. Do you?Ā  What do you do?

*Due to your requests and inspired by the site Into The Gloss too. I hope you enjoyed the rituals I do.More on my skin rituals to come .
