Tips for getting that…Kiss of Summer Look!

Today on TV I am sharing some skin care secrets on ways to prep your face and body for a gorgeous tan or safe faux tan.

You can catch the video link later this morning once it is up on http://www.news4jax.com on the one and only Channel 4 in sunny Jacksonville Florida. The Morning Show.

1.Prep your skin with an exfoliant product for a flawless smoother tan. They work wonders and kiss your dull tired skin “Goodbye!” I am crazy about Cure Natural Aqua gel, Fake Bakes Exfoliating Wipes and I also love and old school Creamy Honey and Almond scrub. You decide what works for you. They all work well.

2.Hydrate the skin with a moisturizer.

3.Check out the latest trends in self tanning.

Tanning Drops (Yes, it’s a thing!) by Farmhouse Fresh goods called Bronze Fox.

Tan Towel a towelette that you wiper on the tan.

Flawless Self Tan liquid by Fake Bake. Fake Bake even has a body mate microfiber band with handles to apply your self-tanner evenly and with ease. ALL streak free …no bad scent. They even make a self-tanner for the face. Guys you’ll love to use these too.

4.Powder Bronzer like Fake Bake is a multi-purpose beauty product. I like to use it as an all over face color to fake a tan,as a blush or as an eye shadow or eyeliner when used with a brush. Dip your clean lip brush in it and you can even make a lipstick in a pinch by adding a clear lip balm over it on your lips.

5. In or out of the sun practice safe sun with a sunscreen daily. No matter what your coloring is… especially living in sunny Florida. Sunscreen is a must.

I love to spend time in the sun. Really I do. But now I only take a walk on the beach for some Vitamin C/Sea. As a skin cancer survivor I KNOW and learned the hard way.

I discovered something while shaving …

There is an unwelcome guest on my big toe that gets me where I want to go. It is small the size of a straight pin head. It is black and under the nail. I am worried as it came out of nowhere. Moving from up North to sunny Florida 🌞 🌴 for my husband has it’s rewards but it’s got a downside too. You need to wear a sunscreen here even more. And liberally apply it too. Cause the sun keeps following you… even on a cloudy day.

So since its skin cancer awareness month and as a beauty and skin care professional I had to share! I feel no pain. Nothing is red or inflamed looking but it IS there a few weeks now.

I happen to have a skin care check up booked for next week. So the timing could be more perfect. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I am kinda of scared. I have had squamous cell cancer. The last two times I pointed out brown spots on their face and body to my clients … they were skin cancer and they are no longer with us.

When you head out to enjoy the long 4th of July holiday weekend.

Don’t forget this…SUNSCREEN!

Whether on the beach, sunbathing, walking, playing golf, active in sports, bike riding, surfing,or on a boat. You need to be protected. And by the way just because you have a medium to dark complexion doesn’t mean you don’t need it.
ALL faces, bodies and skin types can get BURNED. Even BABIES need protection!!!

Now don’t get me wrong, you can spend time outdoors and escape for a beautiful walk on the beach. However, you’ve gotta protect your skin and your health! Don’t you?

I LOVVVVVE the way the sun kisses my face daily. I love spending time in the sun.But everything in healthy moderation and the right protection.I am a skin professional who simply wants to HELP you be sun smart.

My sister was diagnosed with Squamous cell skin cancer, my other sister was diagnosed with Melanoma and they don’t even spend time in the sun. They sunbathed just a little when they were teens. They never used a tanning bed and since they live so far from a beach they don’t spend any time at the beach or outdoors except to go in and out of their house door or car. Now,after their diagnosis they stay completely out of the sun and use sunscreen.

Skin cancer is on the rise.
It should be no surprise! MOST people are not skin smart these days.
Don’t be one of the not so pretty or fatal statistics.
Protect yourself!
LOVE that skin and body you’re in.
You’ll be glad you did.
