MOM … The Most Beautiful Word!

Sometimes when I fly ✈️ I speak to my mom in the sky!

It is about to be another tough Mother’s Day for me. Even though my mother died a few years ago the sting is still real. It lives with me. My heart ❤️ is sad. How about you have you lost your mom too? Do you have similar feelings?

But one thing that comforts me is I have many beautiful memories! No one can take that away from us.

I so miss my mom!

❤️ I miss her lovely smile.

❤️ I miss her beautiful baby blue eyes.

❤️ I miss her Polish meals and speaking Polish to her!

❤️ I miss her burnt meals.

❤️ I miss her hugs!

So I am going to make the best of today and think happy thoughts of our times and years together that I was LUCKY to have!

World Down Syndrome Day

I have been in bed ill with the flu and a day late to post. But Down Syndrome is always in my heart!! World Down Syndrome day is a day we celebrate 🎊 all who were born with Down Syndrome. In case you didn’t know they have the biggest hearts ♥️ and 😊 smiles you’ve ever seen.

Today I salute my beautiful twin. I truly miss him, his glowing smile and those awesome hugs! Twins are forever!

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

I bought myself some flowers and reflected there is so much beauty EVERYWHERE even when there are days in this world that no one seems to care.

It is a glorious day even though the sun is not making a guest appearance in my part of Florida today.

Today I will celebrate Easter the Polish way.I will prepare Pierogi,Kielbasi,beet soup and a box of Polish pastries I found it in town by a miracle.

I miss my mother’s touch in so many ways. She would shape the butter into a Easter bunny with cloves as eyes.I will miss those beautifully stained hard boiled eggs and fresh from the bakery oven Polish bread.When I was younger she would fill the basket of food for me to take to church and have the priest BLESS the food before my sisters and my twin would devour it all on Easter Sunday. I miss the mass in  the Polish language and the pretty hymns. But I have beautiful memories to enjoy all day.

*Did you know why you see Pussy Willows along with the Easter lily at stores around Easter? They are a  Polish, Russian and United Kingdom tradition.Also, I never knew this but the pretty Narcissus flower symbolizes spring and rebirth.It is a traditional Easter flower in Northern Italy and France.It was originally the Easter flower by Ancient Greeks.

 

 

 

Selfies

I don’t do selfies. NEVER have!!!
And when I take an unexpected pose for a photo request I also don’t pose in photos with that one arm on the hip syndrome when standing and striking a pose like a fashion model. I am just ME.

Here’s my NEW headshot. No, I am not in the pose I just told you about above. I am sitting on a couch and resting my arm on arm of the chair.The photographer captured me last week like I never expected.She bought my soul and spirit to life.I added the fun sunglasses as I am crazy for all things lips! I love the way the pic’ turned out. Do you?

I used to take a photo with my twin and am so happy I have those memories as my twin died unexpectedly. Since that time I decided to take photographs more often.I convinced my many sisters to do it too.Each year is like a chapter of your life. Life is short I made it a point to take a photo every few years so I can see the many sides of me.Every face has a story.
