Two Minutes to a…Natural Summer Glow

SUMMER is definitely not over by any means all across the country. Today in sunny Florida it is going to feel like 107 degrees!

I can barley put on one of my many gorgeous necklaces 💎 and if you know me I love wearing necklaces! I feel naked without one and a lipstick.

So, I have been wearing less and doing a light touch to my beauty routine this summer. I don’t use alot of foundation but do like a bit of even coverage. So, here is one of my recipes for creating a soft summer glow by customizing a lightweight soft looking and feeling foundation.

• Place a dash (a quarter size or less) of your favorite moisturzer in the palm of your hands.
• Sprinkle in a little loose mineral powder a couple of shades darker than you would normally wear. Choose a champagne,gold or tawny shade.
• Mix the two until you get the desired consistency and look and apply to the skin.

THIS combination will even out,or warm up your summer tan glow or to fake a tan!

Set with Rose 🌹 Water Kisses spray.

It can also be used on your chest,decolette and shoulders in the summertime when weraing a low cut or strapless dress.

Where do I test drive a face cream before I buy it?

Not on your hands or fingers darling. As a professional makeup artist and skin therapist I suggest you place it where it goes and where you are going to wear it daily…your FACE!

There you will discover:

Is it creamy and dreamy? Light and airy? Does it apply effortlessly? Does It feel heavy? Above all do you like the way it feels,smells and looks on your skin?

Once you’ve done this and answered these questions in your mind…you are all set to purchase a new moisturizer or night cream.

As simple as it may be many women continue to test things on their hands. In this case face or neck is best!

The RIGHT way to apply moisturizer!

Yes, there is a right and wrong way to apply it.

#1. Apply as soon as you drop that wash cloth or towel out of the shower. It is best to apply while your face is damp. Doing this will seal the water into your skin.

#2. It doesn’t matter if your cream is $275.00 a jar or $10.00. Both price points will work and moisturizing the skin.

#3.Choose one with hyaluronic acid,ceramides, retinol…if you have at least one of these ingredients on the label. (dermatologists recommend these) These hydrate and plump your skin beautifully.

#4.Apply your moisturizer with a patting and pressing motion. PLEASE don’t rub into your skin in strong construction worker movements. It hurts my eyes when I see the heavy duty way women apply moisturizer or even liquid foundation. Be gentle with your skin!

My Aloe Beauty Hack!

I love growing aloe plants and have them in my home in my kitchen,my bathroom and outside my front door. I also grow them in my beauty studio garden. Lately, I am showing my clients how to rescue a sunburn with a fresh aloe plant or store bought bottle of aloe vera gel.

But my favorite aloe skin care hack is to use the juicy love goodness from the inside of the aloe leaf! All you do is cut a small slit on the side of the leave and squeeze…apply on clean skin. It is great to use a plant based oil free moisturizer and can be used UNDER makeup or alone on the face.

In an instant! And so cheap!

The All I have is Five Minutes face!

I know you’re busy were all busy especially around the holidays. Lately I have bumped into clients out and about town who come or have come to my makeup studio in sunny Florida. However, they cover their faces and tell me please don’t look at me. I look awful. That’s kinda sad don’t you think?

If all you have is five minutes here is what you need.

A sheer foundation like Not Your Mothers Foundation or a powder foundation in a compact. Apply a sheer amount on your face staying away from your eyes and lips.

Next,blend a dash of concealer in a lipstick tube.Apply where you need coverage…eyelids, under eye and on sun or red spots.

A dash of  eye shadow all over the lid…Look for a shade like a Champagne,Pink Champagne or a soft beige gold hue.Yes all you will need is one shade. NOT two or three.

YES, mascara is  optional but liner is a must…it not only lines your eyes and accents them it also can create the look like you applied mascara but it is only eye liner eye pencil you have on. You actually don’t need both.

A kiss of blush or powder bronzer applied with a fan brush to give a warmth to your complexion.

A swipe of lipstick,lip gloss or lip balm…wraps up the look.

See how fast and  so EASY this 5 minute face can be to do? There’s no excuse why you can’t do this too.

D.I.Y. Chic and Cheap Beauty

Vitamin C brightens the complexion,is anti-aging,evens out skin tone and really helps with those pesky sunspots.It also can help keep you looking younger. If you’d like to make your own at home try this!

Here is an easy recipe for a D.I.Y.Vitamin C Serum What you will need:

1 teaspoon vitamin C powder (found at Whole Foods or another store near you)

1 teaspoon of distilled water

1 teaspoon of glycerin (found at Whole Foods)

Small dark bottle to store it in…or clear or opaque if you are using this recipe within 24 hours

Directions: Place all ingredients in a small glass bowl until all granules dissolve. Stir well. Pour into a small dark glass bottle Apply a dime size for face and neck. Apply UNDER YOUR MAKEUP before moisturizer or at night after cleansing and toning the skin.

Play with it awhile to see what works for you. If you’d like to dilute it add a dash more water to it too.

Don’t just drink your  juice with vitamin C! Apply it topically on your face,decolette and the tops of your hands for a YOUNGER more even toned skin you.

I like to like to use recipe when I am out of my vitamin c cream at home or I want to do a SPA night or have time and just for my skin fun!

Date Night Beauty

If you want to look good tonight or this weekend you have to treat your skin right and give yourself a mini facial with GlamGlow Mud or if you don’t own it try a clay based mask.
This mask with French clay will make your pores appear smaller,clean and detoxify your skin and your skin will look awesome.

Leave the mask on at least 15 minutes.

Rinse well with lukewarm water and a wash cloth and apply your fave moisturizer.

Next you are ready for applying your makeup.

It will glide on like silk and your skin will look and FEEL AMAZING!
