Its is my favorite time of year! The day we wear and celebrate the beauty of a lipstick and what it does for our lips,complexion and face!

Now’s the time to update your lipstick wardrobe and buy something fresh,fun and new! Run don’t walk! Treat yourself to this instant mood lifter!

But before you do … go over and throw out lipsticks 💄 you do not use. Please bear in mind you don’t want to pass on your makeup to others even family because of Covid-19 even more so.

What’s HOT in lipsticks now?

PINK and fuchsia are the IT shades right now! They brighten the complexion and give you a rosy healthy glow! Summertime also is the perfect time for coral reds and golden shades too. You know sun’-kissed and to show off that tan.

It was an awesome 👄 day on TV 📺 today!

If a color lipstick that you bought is not for you simply apply a sheer white lipstick with a touch of shimmer over it and you might just fall in love with a new gorgeous sexy hue!

I’m in beautiful and always fabulous Vegas! The heat is on. The other day it was 116 degrees.

Have you ever been?

Today I guest spoke at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference show. I had a sold out crowd! I so LOVE what I do!

Anyone who is anyone in beauty and hair is here! It is so exciting. I have missed guest speaking since Covid. But it’s beginning to look like a sense of normalcy and happiness!

The show floor was filled to the brim with so many booths. I attended a few classes and shopped and explored. I’m exhausted.

Tonight we had dinner at a delicious place called Orchids Gardens. They serve all kinds of Dim Sum 🥟 all day. I have been going to this place for years.

I’m taking notes 📝 and checking out all that I can and that is trending!

So please … Stay tuned. The time zone for me is a 3 hour difference and I’m starting to fade. Im going to take a bubble bath 🛀 and relax.

Then, I’m joining my husband for a cocktail 🍸 and eating a box of chocolates together in bed.

Backstage Beauty

This morning I took the TV viewers on River City Live to a Backstage BEAUTY Pass… to Fashion week.

Makeup artists who work behind the scenes work tirelessly painting,primping,pampering and and above all hydrating the skin!

It is all about the skin. If the skin does not look it’s best the makeup won’t look the best.

TwinMedix: These essentials got some complexions on the right track with an advanced skin care collection!

Embryolisse: A French delight that models and makeup artist can’t get enough of for gorgeous skin.

Danessa Myricks Beauty: Her Beauty Oils and Dew Balm gives the skin the glowiest look!

Waleda Skin Food: Is another moisturizing lotion that some models request.

Sheet masks from Korea were yet another instant prettier skin fix!

Jade and  Rose Quartz gemstone eye and face rollers: were used to relax the face and make the makeup glide on like silk after a moisturizer or serum was applied.

I’ve even seen silver spoons used in an ice bath and applied to the face for puffy complexions at fashion shows! Or the makeup artists use spoons dry and at room temperature ones are used to curl the eyelashes.

Rosebud Salve: A pro FAVE’ was used for unruly tresses,chapped lips and to give the skin a glowy look. This is in my makeup kit too.

The NO MAKEUP Makeup Look made a big appearance BUT it takes makeup and lots of work to achieve the look.

Aquaphor is another lip and face product that is seen behind the scenes.

Makeup Brushes: There are plenty used and  in all shapes and sizes. There is a brush and sponge for every part of the face and body. Powder puffs rule too!

One of brands of nail polish used was Essie. Who doesn’t love it? One of the hot hues used was Licorice. A deep gray black shade of sexy.

Mr. Eyeliner a set of cosmetic pencils was used on the faces on the models by Jasmine Ortiz MUA on a fashion show featuring  Kilane Collection by celeb fashion designer Pamela Quinzi . Photographed by @rjensalada_21 on Instagram

Makeup FUN!

Doing your makeup should not be a chore! It should be fun!!! 

These makeup brushes swam into my makeup studio this week and are mermaid approved…This shipment really made our shoppers HAPPY to shop my studio Saturday too. I always like to offer the fun factor and spice things up. Aren’t they cute?

They are so lightweight.There are 4 different sizes. They are used to softly contour,can be used to apply blush or powder your face up. The smallest of them all can also be used to blend eye shadow. No they are not sable and yes the handles are not made of wood or bamboo. BUT they are fun and shout “Pick me up and play with me!” 

You shouldn’t ever think makeup is a chore. It should be fun and oh so much more. I can’t stop swirling color on face with them. Not all your makeup brushes have to be the same basic ones.

So, get out there and treat yo’self  to something that makes you smile and paint your face  & feel playful and prettier too.

 

Tweezers 101 & more!

Have you ever wondered about the shape of those tweezers you own or see while shopping? Me too!

Angled– are perfect for eyebrow grooming.

Flat-are great for removing multiple hairs.

Slanted-This shape helps you remove sensitive hair areas and precise grooming.

Pointed– Perfect for fine hairs and for ingrown hair.

I like to add the BEAUTY BEAM to my tweezers so I can light up and ……….see where I am working and removing hair.

I also like to own several sizes of tweezers from pricey to cheap. And the MINI ones are perfect for your cosmetic bag in your purse.

So there you have it. A little 101 on tweezers and more.

You will fall in love with the Beauty Beam once you try it. I use it on TV,photo shoots or when I do makeup in my studio or on location.

You never know when you need a little light on your face,brows,eye area and lips!

An Apple a Day…keeps you healthier!

It has been non-stop for me for 11 days with work and play. I have been traveling to the BEAUTIFUL state of Maine, next a trip to NYC (will share soon about these trips with you) and then back to FLORIDA for more work. We did another one of our signature Pop Up shop at an event with Jacksonville magazine. Yesterday was spent painting pretty faces at my makeup studio.

Today  I am going to celebrate my husbands birthday starting with breakfast in bed.

And for me I am eating clean as I am craving green! Don’t you just love the first bite into a green crunchy apple? God’s edible masterpiece! Last night I shopped the aisles and bought the freshest batch of colorful fruits and veggies. And this week I am going to back on a beautiful food track (with a little bit of his Birthday cake)

Travel and stress takes a toll on your body and skin. Sometimes you have to take a break and treat yourself to all the bounty from a farmer’s market.And feed your body what it needs.

Be well and take time to smell the strawberries,apples and papaya!!!

 

Green is the new black

Sometimes you have to go to the basics and as I continue down the path of eating more clean,care even more about what I put on my face and BODY and love Mother Earth by recycling as much as I can.

I wanted a reminder to women that going green is beautiful. So, I am about to come out with a green lipstick hue to remind them.This fun hue stains the lips and puts you in a good mood too.

Whatever your emotion is…it will tell a story of your mood from deep pinkish rose to soft violet. Counting down to Earth day I think this lipstick is a perfect fit. Take a walk on the green side. If you liked the mood ring …this is your thing!

This Girls Gone Green!

Today is Earth day eve and I am trying to put you in MY mood!

Enjoy somewhere where there is GREEN tonight or on Earth day.

Soak in that luscious green view that is so healthy for you!

Bite into a beautiful crisp GREEN apple and or other green fruit you love. Savour the taste on your tongue. I love my apples sliced with a big piece of Brie melted on top.Sensual YUM!

 

Don’t throw out the last amount in the jar. Use a mini spatula and go ahead and scrape out of that jar or tube or any other container.

Don’t throw out those glass bottles use them again and again by refilling with pancake syrup  from a larger bottle. Reuse perfume bottles and or make some D.I.Y. spa delights and have them on hand for an awesome spa day or night! I LOVE this type of recycling.

Support a farmer and buy some fresh herbs and cook without herbs and spices from a plastic bottle or jar.

Treat yourself to a steam bath facial with fresh tea,flowers and herbs. Your skin will love you!

On the Go again!

Never a dull moment. How’s life with you?

Starting to pack my makeup bags and luggage. I am so ready to work and rock  New York City too. As much as I travel for work and play…packing is always a challenge when I have to fly for my work.Between the beauty supplies needed as a working make-up artist. So many rules too much beauty and clothes! I want to take every lipstick and walk in closet with me!

Other than working which is my fave’ thing to! I look forward to taking it all in…the city that is and the many things it does for my spirit and soul.I miss living up north.

I am wild about this shade …it is like a violet with a touch of pink ! Do you like this hue? 

I am hoping to find clothes and accessories in this hue! May even create a lipstick in that shade for my cosmetic line too.
