These past few months have been spent testing,spraying,rubbing,sniffing and ENJOYING all things Korea and more.Today I will be testing some face masks and body products.
My fascination with these beauty products stems from my being an all American girl whose parents happen to be Polish and Chinese. I know what a combination platter am I! The strange part was when I was growing up I wanted to buy Revlon and Avon.I did not appreciate the history and culture of my background.

I bought myself some flowers and reflected there is so much beauty EVERYWHERE even when there are days in this world that no one seems to care.
It is a glorious day even though the sun is not making a guest appearance in my part of Florida today.
Today I will celebrate Easter the Polish way.I will prepare Pierogi,Kielbasi,beet soup and a box of Polish pastries I found it in town by a miracle.
I miss my mother’s touch in so many ways. She would shape the butter into a Easter bunny with cloves as eyes.I will miss those beautifully stained hard boiled eggs and fresh from the bakery oven Polish bread.When I was younger she would fill the basket of food for me to take to church and have the priest BLESS the food before my sisters and my twin would devour it all on Easter Sunday. I miss the mass in the Polish language and the pretty hymns. But I have beautiful memories to enjoy all day.

On a business and pleasure trip to Chicago this week I had to stop at this awesome hot spot where the locals eat and live just a cab ride from downtown and the wonderful shopping on State Street that great street. Flo and Santos is the name of the restaurant and bar where two lovers who became husband and wife turned their nationalities (Polish and Italian) and food passion into a place to have a cold pitcher of Polish beer,Vodka Shots Journey and devour pizza with sauerkraut,bacon and kielbasa OR have it the Italian way just plain yummy cheese. Or make it a dessert pizza or Polish donut bathed with caramel and chocolate sauce and made with love. No matter how you slice it… Pizza and pierogi those darling plump bites of various yummy fillings. You’ll love Flo & Santos. Down to earth pricing,fabulous and unique food and a cozy twist do the polka all in one place. This place rocked my hips and my lips. You must try this place when visiting or lucky enough to live in Chicago. You don’t have to be half Polish like me to enjoy it~

Lemons can save the day when you’ve eaten your way since Thanksgiving day! I hope you had a yummy day.
Make hot water like you would for making hot tea. Then pour it into a tea cup or coffee mug. Next, squeeze a fresh lemon wedge or two into the water. The more of the lovely lemons the merrier.
I learned this recipe from my beautiful blue eyed mom who said it was a Polish remedy and had used this recipe for years.

I miss how her face would light up when I entered the room.
I miss her crazy meal concoctions.She wasn’t a gourmet chef and no we were to poor to eat like the rich or sort of rich.She whipped up some amazing meals not amazing by taste.Amazing the way she made it happen and fed us every day in her own Polish-American way! Raising all her children alone after my father died.Taking good care of us.
I miss her style.
I miss her speaking to me in Polish.
I miss taking her out for breakfast,lunch dinner or coffee. She would have gotten a kick out of Starbucks,Tea shops and other cafes and coffee shops.
I miss the sound of her playing on her baby grand piano.
I miss her scent.
I miss the sound of her songs and musical voice.
I miss her smile!
I miss being and FEELING loved by her.
I can go on and on…

Merry Christmas it is Christmas day to those of you who celebrate it…Blessings to you and your family too.
I am in Florida and not with my family today. They are up north freezing away.But they are in my heart each and every day. I believe in CHRISTmas,Santa and all the beauty of this season. I am imagining I am at my beautiful Polish church attending mass in Polish and singing all my fav Christmas hymns and songs.I see myself at the table eating Polish food from my mom’s heart.I am imagining I am with my twin and my parents who are no longer with me on earth. I am pretending even just for a few minutes I am with my sisters and laughing all the way. If you are able to be with your family…This Christmas and year, hug them a little tighter. Shower them with sweeter kisses.
As Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz would say.There’s no place like HOME.
