Pooped Out? Me too! Between my work,travel and play schedule some days I can look not so pretty tired.

A simple trick I like to do.

I apply a eyeliner in a vibrant hue like a purple, green or blue from the center of the eyelid to the outer ends of the lash line.

A little goes a long way at opening up those eyes!

Skip eyeliner on the bottom of the eye. You might want to just do a thin line near the lash line.

Then I blend a bright liner pencil with an upward stroke towards the brow but staying at the lash line on the eyelid.

I apply a dash of shimmer color on the inner corner of my eyes. I like a sheer champagne,a white pearl, a gold or a silver.

Now you’re ready for a dash of colored mascara.

Day 24 of MY Beauty Secrets

Today while running a few quick errands I came across two women I could not stop looking at! While the were waiting on me at the cash register I was mesmerized by their lovely personality! They really seemed to love their job and happy to even have one.

I also noticed a high frost all over one of the employees faces. She shimmered, sparkled, glowed, gleamed,glimmered and looked like as shiny as the TIN Man off the Wizard of Oz movie. It was everywhere!

Inner corners of her eyes, up her nose, on the tip of her nose (She did not cover her nose with her face mask 😷 properly) and all over the apple of her cheeks. Her brow hairs even got in on the shimmer action! She too was a lovely pretty young woman who clearly overdosed on the makeup. Mainly foundation.

My beauty secret here is ALWAYS make up your face with good lighting or a sunlit window. Blend, blend,blend. Less is truly more!

And if you don’t feel like you are good at doing your own makeup 💄 or feel you’re not sure of the color choices that are right for you! Consult a beauty or skincare PRO.

I think she has been watching a lot of YouTube videos! The makeup distracted me from her true beauty.

My next stop the girl had so much foundation on even with a mask. Her forehead, cheeks, lower jawline and neck I could see on all sides of the face. Her foundation was a Tan Orange. I so wanted to blend that down or give her a complete makeover right there on the spot.

Las Vegas IS always fabulous!

Been so busy since I came back from Las Vegas I finally had a moment to tell you about my beauty filled and foodie trip. I got to go with my sweetie so that’s always good. It wasn’t as hot this year as it usally is in the 100 degree and more mark. I never get tired of Las Vegas and go a few times a year.

I guest spoke at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference.

My class went well and I love the eager to learn audience of makeup artists,estheticans,plastic surgeons and Boss Babes.

I enjoyed and sat in on some other classes TO LEARN too but my fave part of any beauty conference is always  discovering what is on the show floor! Shopped til I dropped. I discovered a few new brands and tools I will share with you in the next few blog posts too.

Healthier Looking SKIN is still in! And so are all kinds of beauty devices and facial tools for anti-aging but they are sold to beauty professionals in the spa or plastic surgeons and dermatologists offices. Where they need to be. I think sometimes these at home machines and pro devices are best used by the PROFESSIONAL. Putting the wrong device in the consumers hands can harm you especially if you don’t know what you are doing.

💄 Makeup is sparkling with all things glam and glitter.

I enjoyed my usual foodie spots for food away from the strip where the locals like to go. And at the top of that food list is the infamous In & Out Burger and animal fries too!

I stayed on an extra day to RELAX  and to join Las Vegas Now’s  host Courtney Perna again. So happy to join her again as she’s always fun to work with and quite a show host… loaded with personality! This time my segment was  Asian Beauty Secrets Revealed. Having just been to Korea and China I had a few unique things to share with their TV viewers. The best part of the segment was rolling an Asian Skin Smoothing and Relaxing face roller with her for fun on Boomerang.

This cool little tool is still on a roll in China and now the USA. Using it is so cool and refreshing and the beauty benefits surely beats a face lift… any day!

Asian Royalty used it for centuries now it has made it to main stream from China. Great for those of you who love all things anti-aging. Revs up circulation and they do so much.

Have you ever seen unusual fruit at an Asian market and wondered what they are?

Dragon fruit and Durian are delightful to eat or add in a smoothie for younger looking skin and overall good health. Don’t be afraid to explore what’s not familiar to you and taste what you never tried before.

Asian women I interviewed on the streets of Hong Kong also shared with me that infamous Pearl Powder. Sold by the box in little vials you almost think you are buying something white powdery and illegal. But it is not. It is a powder when mixed with water makes an amazing skin brightening and tightening face mask. The women use this beauty find that is handed down from generations.

Wishing  I were back in the Orient I had a craving for Dim Sum (Chinese Brunch) that is in some places served all day. I adore the owner,staff and food at Orchids Garden. So, authentic and delightful! About 8 MINUTES from the Las Vegas strip. They serve it on hot oven carts. So delicious and you won’t break the bank.

Shopping in Las Vegas is always fun. You can shop on the strip or go out and drive half an hour to an outlet mall called in Prim. They have a Tommy Bahama Outlet my husband so loves. I enjoy the H & M outlet and other discount shops.

By the airport there is also fabulous shopping experience (not just on the strip) and since I am addicted to all things containers and tidying up… The Container Store is also there! I don’t have one in my city so I try and shop one when I travel. After you’re done stop at the center and have a cocktail or go to grab a bite at The Lazy Dog restaurant. The first time I ever had sweet potato tater tots. Everything made from scratch and from the farm! Food …so fresh.

And by the way, if you’re into cannabis. They have licensed recreational dispensaries there now. It is legal.

Next time you travel ✈️ to Las Vegas check out some of these spots. You don’t need a ton of money or gamble to enjoy Las Vegas. I can’t wait to go back in a few months.

New York Fashion week Beauty… a bit late!

That Hurricane IRMA has me drained,exhausted and not my usual self. So, forgive for the delay on this post. I did not make it to NYC for fashion week this year but I did chat with a few of my friends on what they did or saw behind the beauty scene.

Rumor has it my fav’ things were hot in NYFW fashion week this year!

One is an Ancient Chinese Secret now once again let out of the beauty bag you may know I have used for years on myself and on my clients.This double sided wonder is a fan of Asian Royalty where they used it in gold down to now the everyday woman in jade. One side is for the eye area and one for the face.Rolling in circular motions and upward strokes it brings a beautiful glow to the face. The women of the Orient would use it for ant-aging. One cool tool. Now, model’s and makeup artists covet it.

Another is Rosebud Perfume Companies of salves called Rosebud Salve. The original lips salve is used on the lips,top of the cheeks,on the shoulders and added to a baby tooth brush to groom brows in place or pesky hairs around the face.

 

At NYFW and other beauty events they also used the infamous sheet mask and more. I  too LOVE, LOVE, LOVE K Beauty anything and these instant gratification wonders!They really are magical! Therapispa has an KBeauty Essence your skin will love.

A Chat with Makeup Artist James Vincent

I recently had a chance to bring a fellow PROfessional makeup artist James Vincent to the TV station with me as he was in sunny Florida to guest speak at The Makeup Show in Orlando last weekend. I enjoyed chatting with him and got his take on what is going to be hot for this spring 2016 on the makeup scene.

In his 20 years in the beauty industry James has worked with Lady Gaga,our current President,Courtney Love,Liv Tyler,CNN and Reese Witherspoon to name a few.

He recognizes that innovation and technology in makeup and skin care are ever changing and that the absence of animal testing is key.

Here is a peek at his HOT for spring list that we will be wearing this season to come.

SKIN CARE: Cleanse,polish and protect are key steps to healthy skin.

Make-Up:

Sun kissed eye lip and cheek: Peach and pink will be your go to shades for the season.

A little bit of bronzer goes a long way! However apply it only wear the sunshine usually hits your face.And he recommends you mix it with a dash of your fave blush.Don’t just use it alone.

Black Liquid Liner is always in.

Candy Apple Lips that won’t land on your hips! James recommends a blue based red gloss on top of and only in the center and another shade of red lipstick.

Blue Eyeliner and Eye shadow: Blue eyeliner and shadows get a bad wrap.but says these shades of blue really lift up the eyes and brightens up the face too. He suggests you use pencil eyeliners over liquids or creams for liner as they are easier to apply.

GLOW on: He likes Scott Barnes Body Bling (JLO’s makeup artist) as well as Melanie Mills (A La Dancing with the Stars and more) Gleam body shimmer. they both illuminate  the skin on face and body.

Day 27 to beautfiul skin

Today I saw a client I had not seen in a year or more.
She is in her late 70’s.I was happy she called as I had not had the pleasure of seeing her vibrant personality and enjoy conversations with her.
She booked an appointment for to update her look with a makeup lesson and to replenish her beauty supplies. Oh my gosh…right before my eyes in 3-D and technicolor she LOOKED amazing!
Now,she truly looked 15 years younger.

I did not ask her what she had done but she bubbled over with it as if she had a glass of champagne delight. She told me she had what I see on TV almost every hour. Know what it is?
