You know by now I love to cook or bake. My husband will tell you I kiss better!

But he eats ALL my meals and cleans his plate so go figure!

Here is a recipe from a cookbook someone gifted me.The book is called No Bake Cookies,Bars & Pies. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cookbook.  Since it is a long holiday weekend I thought I’d make these cookies for 4th of July. Wish me luck!

This recipe is quite appropriate for the 4th of July.

It is former President Jimmy Carter’s cookie recipe.

What you will need:

2/3 C. of sugar

2/3  C corn syrup

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/4 C. chunky peanut butter

3 C. corn flakes cereal

In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and add vanilla and peanut butter. Stir until well mixed. Gently mix in corn flakes. Drop the tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Cookies will harden as they cool.

Hope you like them!

Happy 4th for those of you who celebrate!

SUGAR Please!

Happy 1st day of summer!

As the summer begins you want to EXFOLIATE your skin. Dead skin cells mount up on your hands, feet and body and your skin needs a bit of TLC attention. This will also help you get a better even tan. I love doing this before I apply my sunless tanner. Your skin will be smoother and tan faster and more efficiently.

It really WORKS!

Sugar & CITRUS Scrub

2 tablespoons of  white or brown sugar

1 orange zest

1 tablespoon of lemon juice

2 tablespoons of sunflower oil or apricot kernel oil

Mix all of these in a small bowl and on a clean body. I like my body to be slightly damp. Rub in circular motions and slough off your tired looking winter skin. Your skin will turn a little pink and have a flushed look. That’s a good thing. You are bringing blood to the surface and helping circulation.

Rinse well with luke warm washcloth. Next, apply your fave body lotion.

Lemon Love Water

Follow this D.I.Y. treatment by drinking  a half a gallon of water with a slice or two of lemons. Drinking this will eliminate toxins and flush and clean you from the inside.

Sip it throughout your day.

I hope you will enjoy this refreshing skin loving treat,be more hydrated and kiss your dull skin…GOODBYE!

Sugar Me up!

photo SUGAR ME UP.JPGTis’ the season for sugar and  all the tempting sweets that come with it!

It is also the time of the year to kiss lots and the weather can give us the driest lips!

I like to make and use this D.I.Y. when I ma ready to KISS under the mistletoe and my lips get dry from rapid change in the weather  or times your lips simply need a moisturizing plumping boost.

My recipe is simple~

1 Teaspoon of honey (organic is my fav’)

1 Teaspoon of brown sugar (organic is my fav’)

Stir the two together for a lip softening treatment at home! Apply to clean lips and rub back and forth with your ring finger. Leave on at least 3 minutes and repeat rubbing process again.

Rinse with warm water on a wash cloth or flat round cotton pad.

Apply your fav’ lip balm afterwards.

Kiss the night away and ring in the new year with soft lips!

Gilded in Gold…and decadent!

I met this amazing dessert maker.I tasted her AMAZING glamberries (as she calls them) and never stopped dreaming or fantasizing about them. They are not just dipped in the chocolate of your choice but they are also dipped in this awesome sugar.

I hosted an Open House for my clients last weekend and they loved them so much! So much they felt guilty to even touch one as they did not want to ruin my pretty table presentation. That’s a first.

Don’t they look gorgeous?

You can find her on Instagram,Facebook and by telephone. You know when I find something fabulous I have to share it with you.

Bye, Bye, Cellulite!

coffee-grindsWomen keep on asking me about a natural way to help the appearance of cellulite now that bathing suit season approaches…especially the ladies of sunny Florida.

First off you can’t just get rid of cellulite.BUT you can help with way it looks on your thighs and more. I have a bit of it too. So, I decided to share an easy recipe with the viewers on The Chat TV show in Florida.

Here is the D.I.Y. Recipe fix:

1 cup coffee grounds from a pot of coffee you made 1/2 cup organic brown sugar *You can use white sugar of you do not have brown sugar! 1 cup of coconut oil Mix all of the above together in a glass or plastic bowl. Take a quick shower and get wet.Standing or sitting at the edge of the tub if you have one and start to apply this java, oil and sugary blend.

*Be careful it may be a bit slippery in the tub.

Skin Benefits: The caffeine in coffee can help soften the appearance of cellulite. Sugar softens and exfoliates. Of course you know I am a big fan of coconut oil and it hydrates and nourishes your skin too. Rub away and feel better about the appearance of your cellulite with this sweet coffee and sugar treat….without spending a fortune from a store shelf jar.

It is so much fun to D.I.Y. !!!

If you’ve got the thyme!

photo Thyme

My weekend when not guest speaking out of town or painting a sports celebrities face is spent not only working in my makeup studio painting pretty faces and spirits but also stirring up some beauty.

I had some left over thyme from a chicken recipe I cooked for my husband and was in a lemony mood.

So here is what I whipped up…A YUMMY SCENTED and fabulous exfoliating hand and body scrub!

1/4 cup of coconut oil (can’t get enough of it) Whole Foods brand

1/4 cup Greek olive oil

1 cup of granulated sugar

1 dash of lemon essential oil (Auracacia brand)

1 sprig of thyme

Stir them all together with a whisk OR a portable hand mixer/blender. Creamy and sugar with a lemon scent twist.

After this was all done. I sprinkled the mixture with a few torn pieces of thyme.  The herb thyme has benefits but I LOVE the way it looked in the scrub.

I poured from a bowl into empty jam jars.(recycle your jam jars or buy and fill Ball brand jars)

Add a mini wooden spoon and you have a sweet exfoliating gift for yourself or someone else.

Something to do over these cold wintry months and take care of your skin too.

Enjoy this from a beauty who is a true foodie. Oops almost forgot I added the zest of lemon on top of the jar before I put the lid on and shook it back and forth.

D.I.Y. dahling!

Memorial Day weekend Tan

PR 2013 BEACHI can tell the way the phone calls for appointments stop at my sweet beauty retreat in sunny Florida and the phone rings less that we are coming upon a long holiday weekend. Our mail orders show us that people want all things to tan and give that gorgoeus tan glow.
But BEFORE you get your glow on you need this.

In order for your skin to receive self tanner in spray, powder or lotion you MUST exfoliate your skin both face and body.Say bye bye to dead tired skin and prep the skin for that I escaped to a beautiful island look.

I have many beauty recipes that I whip up from time to time in my recipe box.But this one I received from a friend had a sweet ingredient I have never added to my recipe. The sweet secret is HONEY.

Lemon Honey Sweet Sugar Scrub

1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of sweet almond oil
4 teaspoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons of honey
4 drops of lemon essential oil

First you mix the oil and sugar.
Next add the other ingredients and mix well.
Polish your skin using light pressure for 30-60 seconds.Pay special attention to your knees, elbows and any areas of concern where you have dry skin patches.

Wipe clean with a warm soft washcloth and rinse well.

Your skin will feel AMAZING,soft and silky smooth.
Now, your skin is ready for your self tanner or a base tan. But I professionally recommend NOT baking like a dozen chococolate chip cookies in the sun! Beach, patio or backyard PROTECT your beautiful skin from the harmful sun rays.
A little of the sun’s vitamin D goes a long way,my little cupcakes!

Have a beautiful weekend wherever you live. Celebrate life!
