Beauty TIPS:

  • If you are still partying and have guests over this long weekend. Before your guests arrive or even if it is you alone with your pet. Prep with a ripe avocado face mask for softer skin while you cook.
  • You can also apply a hair mask on your hair and place a shower cap over it. Your body heat from running around the kitchen will make it work faster and condition your hair.
  • Put your sandals on and apply a dash of olive oil on your toes and condition your toes and nails while you whiz around the house with that vacuum cleaner.

Double duty beauty time and get your cooking, cleaning and beauty fix in too!

Happy Thanksgiving …thoughts!

As we celebrate thanksgiving day I have a few things to say…

I wish the readers of my blog today and followers too a fabulous and yummy Thanksgiving day. I am happy to have you in my life in some small way.

Next,I’d like to ask is…

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful I opened my eyes and woke up today. It was even sweeter when I heard the glorious Star-spangled banner  anthem outside my window. Today they amped up the volume but it was still  beautiful.I live near a naval base. I am happy I was born and raised in America and happy it is my home.

I am thankful for my lovely family. And darling funny husband. I only wish my twin brother, mom and dad were here to share my days with me.Gosh how I miss them!!!

I am thankful  for ALL the little things in life that can bring us so much joy. The sun,the moon, the stars the smell of fresh cut grass and more.

I am thankful for a roof over my head and food on the table.

I am thankful for bakers and chefs not only for making healthier fresh bread but dessert…yes I have a major sweet tooth!

I am thankful for the farmer I am an avid foodie and so love supporting them and eating fresh fruit and vegetables.

I am thankful for fuel for hot baths and warm showers. Especially with a bit of bubbly like a bubble bath.

I m thankful for music which fills my ear with joy.

I am thankful for the person who invented LIPSTICK! They were brilliant! A swipe of color goes a long way!

I am thankful for fuel to jet around town and jet around on a flight to all the amazing places I get to go for my work and to play.

I am thankful for good health.

I am thankful for all I have learned in life and can’t wait to learn more!

AND…I thank MACY’S for bringing me back home even if it is on the TV screen.LOVE the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade! The 90th year.

A true miracle on 34th street where I used to work! #theresnoplacelikehomegive-thanks-leaves-photo-jpg-2016Give THANKS…Not just for today but tomorrow and always!

Have a yummy and beautiful thanksgiving day everyone !

Thankful November

“Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many”. No one knows who said this but I think the  words are very powerful!

As a professional makeup-artist I hear so many negatives from women about aging and how unattractive they are getting with age. Even the younger ladies tell me this. We need to erase this kind of chatter!!!

I am truly THANKFUL  I am still in the game. Aging with grace and becoming even better with age. It beats the alternative. And you?

A November to be …THANKFUL!

Thanking God that I can drive to work…not walk miles, wait on long lines and TRY and get on a bus to work.
Oh how I feel for the people who are on those long lines. My fellow New Yorker’s and New Jersey are AMAZING people. They do what they need to do. They band together. They CARE and love each other. I am one of them even though I live in Florida as well.

My heart is broken just like on 9/11 to watch them go through the motions. I am sad to see them suffer, cold, hungry and craving a warm shower or cozy bath.

By the way, my sisters have NO hot water, no heat and still no electricity and phone service. It’s only been over 3 days BUT it feels like forever. Praying.

I am truly THANKFUL for today and all I have. Are you?
