Trying to get in my ….Greens!

Kale

I am trying to eat more greens this year and hear all the great things about kale!
I love to eat fruits and veggies but sometimes lots of greens are hard to eat.

I love Kale chips and kale in my stir fry but this time I made a kale smoothie. I wasn’t sure what it would turn out like nor taste like…but it actually is yummy.

So here you go…my creamy Kale delight!!!
1 banana
2 cups of fresh from the market kale
1 teaspoon of Agave nectar
1/2 cup of unsweetened (or sweetened) soy milk

Place all of the above in a blender.Cover…pulse on puree and serve over ice or without ice. ENJOY!
Very refreshing and interesting yummy taste. No, I did not taste the kale at all.

So if you want to sneak in something healthy and green in your smoothie,your husbands or children’s smoothie…have at it. You know I love to cook and makeup!!!

NB8J0361It is the year of the snake and our lunar year celebration is now in full swing. We were cleaning up,dumpling making and getting all dolled up for a brand new LUNAR YEAR! Yes,I get to celebrate both new year celebrations.Lucky me!
We are decorating in red and have our jade on…families are celebrating all over the globe!

I’d like to share a few things with you! My FUN take on Chinese customs.Rice powder is a beauty custom that is centuries old. It looks like a white square brownie but don’t try and eat it….just wear it. It tones down shine,makes your makeup last longer and gives you a matte finish.It is also great for guys too!

Drinking HOT not cold Asian Tea is good for your health.It balances out your digestive tract and cleans out the grease from foods according to my herbalist in Chinatown. Drinking it cold does not do the same.

Pearl cream is an ANCIENT Chinese secret that Asian women use for anit-aging.It softens the skin and makes hyper-pigmentation lighten over time.I USE and love it too.Smells dreamy and is opaque and creamy.

I try and use chopsticks on a daily basis…it helps me control my weight cause I eat less! And using them is a lot of fun!

Veggies are a staple in Asian cooking…and in looking good. FRESH is best and Asian women shop for them daily not weekly. Stir some up and stir fry for your health. Go ahead take a wok on the wild side. You don’t have to be Chinese to do it.

3. Start with a fabulous NEW skin care regime and products.Never go to bed with your makeup on!

4. Take better care of yourself! Whip up some spa water with fruit, keep hydrated, and drink more water.

5. Smile MORE! WEAR lipstick it brightens your face and day!

6. Buy NEW makeup, get a makeup lesson and let an expert show you how to look like yourself only better.

7. Take a walk and calm your mind and body. Take a break from the mental chatter in your head. Recharge your body’s batteries. Walking or exercising will give you more energy.

8. Always add a dose of laughter in your day. It keeps the blues away.

9. All talk is about anti-aging. Take time for your skin! It is all about having prettier, healthier skin not how old you are.

10. All work and no play make you …a dull girl! Take time for you, shop on, buy something fun and beautiful too!
