What are you looking for?

I am looking for smiles on peoples faces (without a face cover). I am craving all things we used to be able to freely do. I am counting down to when I can travel and get on an airplane again. But most of all I am looking forward to the day I can really hug family and hug a stranger too. Lately my pandemic cravings have me going for crunchy food like celery but I also have been up to no good with eating old fashioned candy. But since it is getting colder in Florida I am looking for cozy and warm. So today is going to be a relaxing self care and cooking up some edible delights and something in the slow cooker.

So with that said I am NOT going to get out of my silky gold pajamas and tie the hair up o my head with a hair mask that I will leave on for an hour or more. You can find hair masks by the jar on store shelves now but I also like to make them in my kitchen too.Even my husband enjoys these mask now and then.

The first thing I am going to prepare this morning besides a luscious big breakfast is Sangria.

I am going to let it cook away in a crock pot today. OR of course you can enjoy it cold too.

Photo by Nastasya Day on Pexels.com

What I like to make my sangria with is:

2 bottles of dry red wine

1 cup of brandy

1 cup of cranberry juice (not cocktail)

1 cup of simple syrup

2 oranges sliced

1 cup of pomegranate seeds

1 cup of fresh cranberries

4 or more cinnamon sticks

*My husband likes it infused with a sachet of peppercorns but I skip it sometimes)

How-To:

Pour wine, cranberry juice, brandy, orange slices, cinnamon sticks and the sachet of peppercorns (whole) to your 4 quart crock pot.Stir gently.

Set the cooker on high. Stir after one hour and place on low for a few hours.

Check on it and taste test and keep crock pot on low or save for another time and refrigerate what you don’t drink. But I promise you it will be enjoyed and ALL gone!

I like to add a few of Maraschino cherries to each mug before serving. If you’d like to embelish with a cinnamon stick go for it. Use it as your spoon.

This is so easy and fun to make!

Wine Face Mask…Yes Please!

Vinotherapy is the best therapy whether you use a K Beauty mask like Tony Molys wine sheet mask or you make it yourself. In drier colder weather I like to give myself a red or white wine face mask. Simple to make.I do this once a week when i can remember or cheat with a sheet mask. They are so convenient to use. Filled with anti-oxidants wine also is known to give the skin an instant glow. French women know all to well about this beauty skin care secret. And have you ever seen a Parisian woman’s skin? Lovely! Also some people enjoy drinking wine every day.

Before any facial mask you need to cleanse your face.Thoroughly! I like to wash my skin twice. By the way, as always you want to do a patch test on your inner arm above your wrist to see if you happen to be allergic to any of the ingredients.

WINE on and Carry on Gorgeous!

3 tbsp wine

1 tbsp honey

2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt (I prefer organic)

Combine and mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. I apply a sheer coat all over my face not the near the eyes and the lips and on the neck.

Leave the mask on at least 10 minutes.

Rinse well with a lukewarm water and a washcloth.

Apply a spritz of rosewater toner on a cotton round.

Lastly put on your favorite moisturizer.

Got some leftover? Refrigerate but remember it will expire and needs to be used in a few days.

Sip sangria all day give yourself some self care today and nibble away.

Dull Tired Skin?

Afternoon delight or after dinner beauty while in quarantine. Dull dry skin needs your attention for your makeup to glide on like silk and for your skin to feel softer and look refreshed and smooth again.

This recipe’s anti-oxidants and lactic acid also help with fine lines and wrinkles.

What you will need is:

A bottle of red 🍷 wine

2 tablespoons of wine

2 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt (organic)

*This recipe is for adults only please.

Another version can be by simply adding a teaspoon of honey 🍯 to the recipe. Very extra hydration.

Mix all of these in a small glass bowl.

Wash your face.

Apply mask ingredients to your face.

While the face mask dries sip a glass of heart ❤️ healthy wine 🍷 if you’d like.

Leave on at least 15 minutes.

Rinse off with lukewarm water and a washcloth.

Apply your moisturizer and eye gel or cream and you’re good to go.

Your skin will love you back. I promise!

SHOP on,Gorgeous!

Last weekend was Shop Small Saturday all across the country started by American Express. I participated in it proudly again this year. And here are a few takeaways of what girls bought for their  besties or themselves.

Stocking Stuffers or token gifts…

Remember it is the thought that counts not the price OR how much you buy for that person! And you know what the real reason for the season is!

Makeup Brushes by the set are a coveted gift a girl struggles to get for herself. So many to choose from and it can be overwhelming. Buying ala carte is not the best thing to do unless that is your budget. It is cheaper and chicer to buy a set. And you don’t have to spend a fortune for them. Remember the $ dollar $ quality is not the same as a boutique.

Wine, rose, champagne  wine holders  chic and so versatile. Use them for booze, décor and or to rest your bling and baubles on. They say wine is most gals best friend over any other libation. Add a few gourmet or edible delights like below and you have a gift that won’t be forgotten!

Lipsticks are always in style and putting together a set of a variety of them for your mom or bestie can be so much fun! Add a gloss or balm and they love you forever.

*Add a lip brush and you’re all set. Yes, they are still in.

Bath and Body Treats are so lovely! And SO NEEDED. When you shop you can get a lot of little pieces. Aromatic and hydrating are best for the skin. And aromatherapy is so relaxing and mood lifting and calming.

Candles are always a good idea!

Palo Santo,Sage and herb plants are both unique and practical too.

Fragrance is a very personal thing. So, I usually only give it in bath and body lotions not necessarily by the bottle. Unless you know the exact fragrance they love.

I hope I got your juices and creativity going for finding that perfect token gift or stocking stuffer.

Beauty Secrets from around the globe!

image1

I’d like to share some simple beauty and skin care secrets from around the world!

Some are from my travels and some are from women I have met.

The women of Greece keep healthy  by eating that creamy and dreamy Greek yogurt we find readily available at stores.Since it contains so many health and beauty benefits. They are also avid users of skin care products made with olive oil. The women and men are mindful of what they eat and a Mediterranean diet is another beauty and lifestyle secret.

The women of China and Hong Kong clamor for pearl cream and sheet masks of all kinds.Examples: pearl, aloe, bamboo rose and more. They also eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The latest and greatest that has made it to our US grocery stores is the Dragon fruit for it’s anti-aging properties.I love it in smoothies and acai bowls.

Egypt Cleopatra stated it all! The milk and honey bath and honey face masks.

France! Who doesn’t have a love affair with France. While there are many delectable pastries and breads the secret to their success is by eating small meals and just a taste of deserts. Not giant portions of them. Red wine is part of their daily evening meal.As you know it contains resveratrol and is really good for heart heath. The spas offer Vinotherapy which is a wine themed therapy all made with red wine. And wearing a luscious red lipstick and a pair of sunnies  go a long chic way!

Brazil  known for the infamous Brazilian butt lifts and Brazilian blowouts for flawless smooth hair.

I enjoy doing all of the above…minus the surgical butt lift and my hair does not need that type of treatment.

I hope you enjoy these beauty and skin secrets and experiment with them too!

Green Tea Infused Sangria

photo green teaI LOVE all kinds of sangria but never heard of this one. Until I found it in a magazine. Here is one I made this week and so enjoyed it’s exotic Asian twist. I hope you will try and make it this weekend and let me know how you like it. If you have a recipe you would like to share with me. Please do!

What you will need is:

1 bottle white wine

1 1/2 cups of freshly brewed green tea

1/2 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of lime juice

Before adding fruit, stir ingredients until sugar dissolves.Add melon like honeydew or cantaloupe and chill.Garnish with lime slices before serving.

Green tea,melons and wine…who knew?

Stir up some delicious fun and make this one!

Natural, Vegan,Gluten Free and oh so heavenly!

honey-lavender-scrub-300dpi I think it is important to take care of yourself.

I know it takes time and you might be giving a sigh or whine but I personally really try to practice it daily. I recommend you do it too. IF you only have a few minutes to yourself.Sip a cup of soothing hot tea or a glass of wine and enjoy five to 10 minutes to exfoliate, hydrate and oh so much more.

ME TIME! This scrub is on OPRAH’S FAVE sea salt SCRUB on her O -List .

It is 95% natural,Vegan and Gluten Free. It is not greasy and rich with vitamin E rice bran oil. Apply it to your hands, body and feet and give yourself a treat.NOT to be used on your face. This is a salty exfoliating sea salt treat not meant for your delicate complexion. You apply it before you shower or bathe and rub on a DRY body in small circles with your hand or a sponge. Then you rinse it off after it has done the skin softening and exfoliating magic. The honey and lavender additions in the scrub take it to another heavenly level!!!

So RELAXING to use and the scent makes me swoon…You gotta try it.
