Natural and aromatic…

Because you asked…here’s a recipe for a natural way (NO harsh chemicals) to clean your makeup sponges and makeup brushes at home. This is what I use too.

However, for my beauty business I do extensive cleaning and also use SterileLight Disinfecting case.

1-2 tablespoons of Castile soap

1 1/2tablespoons white vinegar

1 cup of warm water (Use a bit more water if you would like to)

12 drops of lavender Tea Tree oil (if you prefer less essential oil and the scent use 6 drops) I love Aura Cacia essential oils.

Wash your brushes in the water with the above.

Please note:

A lipstick brush or a foundation brush will be more concentrated and need EXTRA attention. Remove any slick buildup and continue wash and swishing around in the water longer. Also PRESS OUT this residue in a paper towel and make sure all the color and product is gone out of the brush.

Rinse well.

Rinse again.

Squeeze out the residue and rest your brushes on a paper towel overnight.

Next morning they will be dry, fresh and ready for you to make up your pretty face!

Don’t let makeup and your facial oils mount up on your makeup brushes and sponges. Don’t spread bacteria and use makeup brushes and sponges daily for weeks. Wash them at least once a week. These are tough pandemic times. You can’t be too clean or too safe. Can we? AND you don’t want those unwanted zits!

Pandemic Beauty Relief!

If you are looking for a little BEAUTY and skincare relief  you are in luck. Today on TV in sunny Florida on WJXT-4  I shared a few ways you can do this. You’ll feel so much better too!

Is your skin extra oily, lifeless and a few zits got you down?

Got to a drug store and buy a sheet mask. It is a mask that is in a sheet form and goes over your face. They are filled with skin loving goodness and will make your skin look amazing. Instant gratification.

A charcoal or detox mask is black and will help control sebum which comes especially when we are under stress. Buy one of these if your skin is oily or shiny.

Please Note …they also come in a jar and you can apply it with your hands. Let it dry and rinse well. Your face will love you!

If your skin is dry or you have normal to combination skin you need a hydrating sheet mask. These masks just cost a few dollars and work wonders.

Moisturized skin is HAPPY skin!

Don’t forget to moisturize your skin. Not just some days but every day. Face covers we have begun to wear are drying to our skin and lips! So PROTECT both your face and lips.

Lips 👄 NEED love too.

Use a Vitamin E lipstick or balm and kiss your lips morning and night with it. It’s clear and mighty and you can go to sleep 😴 with it on!

If you’re going CRAZY for a haircut (like ME) DON’T cut your hair or over pluck or shave your brows…WAIT to see the professionals. That’s why we go to them they are the PROfessionals and we can make your hair, skin, nails, lashes and face look fabulous AGAIN.

Instead condition your hair with a hair treatment mask. Great for dehydrated stressed hair.

Finger nails looking rough? Nails cracking? Chipping?

Use a cuticle and nail oil. If you can’t find one at the store grab a bottle of olive oil from your kitchen. Pour into a squeeze bottle and nourish those cuticles and nail beds.

At home most of the time doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the beauty of a lipstick 💄 or lipgloss. A little kiss of color goes a long way. So swipe away and brighten your mouth and your face!

Hope you enjoyed these tips. We’re all in this together… and we’re all looking and feeling a little frayed around the edges.

Have a beautiful day!

America will look beautiful again!

Bye Bye Zits!

ZitMit

Got Zits? I get them too.

Just found out about this product and wanted to share with you. The ZitMit by Microdermamitt is designed to treat and help prevent acne and breakouts. It is a mit is a thin soft abrasive cloth you slip your hand into that cleans the skin gently and efficiently.

The magical part is NO cleanser,no CHEMICALS,no zit cream or product at all. Simply dip into tap water use on a clean face on the area that has started to get a blemish or you may use on the entire face (not the eye area of course). It removes tired dull winter skin and will help your other beauty products penetrate and work better. Your makeup will glide on like butter on a slice of bread.

This cleansing mitt increases cell turnover and calms down the irritated slightly blemished skin. And it does it naturally.

I have very sensitive skin and really love mine!

Day 17 to beautiful skin!

Think you have acne?

It is a problem for many people. One of the main things for sure is chocolate and greasy foods don’t always cause acne nor make it worse. Keeping your face and hands clean. Keeping your hands off your face IS important! Change your pillowcase often.
My dermatologist warns a few zits are not acne! Besides genetics here are some other reasons you may develop acne.
Hormones, stress, bacteria, lack of sleep, your diet, food allergies, poor cell turnover, cosmetic related allergies and an over active sebaceous gland can cause acne flair ups.

D.I.Y Skin Toner for Blemished Skin

1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice
1 cup of water
2/3 cup of witch hazel

Mix all of the above together and use nighlty and play with it first to see how your skin reacts to it. Apply with cotton pad and stay away from eye area or lips. It will also brighten your complexion/skin.

*This recipe is from a client of mine who has acne and swears by this.I tried it… it feels refreshing! If you are allergic to any of the above please do not try this recipe.
If you have a noticeable strong case of acne or any skin concerns consult a dermatologist…Doctor knows best.
