🍒 Oh the beauty of … Cherries!

These taste like candy and are a great lipstick!

Growing up we had a couple of cherry 🍒 trees. I loved to see them bloom and finally arrive into cherries. They were quite sour & a little sweet and quite a treat!

One thing I’ve learned through the years is that there are so many varieties of Cherries and sadly the season for most of them ends the end of September! 🥲

But since I’m such a foodie I discovered a few years back that the Bing cherry is a rockstar! It’s not only a sweet cherry! It stains your lips with this magenta pink to crimson hue! The best part? It does it Naturally!

Bing is the “King of Cherries” they say!

Developed in 1875, Bing is a large dark red heirloom cherry with a firm bite that is bursting with juiciness and flavor!

Sweet and juicy with just a touch of tartness to balance them out.

Just clean one take the stem off and eat one or two or simply cut the cherry in half and rub on your lips! đź‘„

Voila your lips have this gorgeous stained tint on them!

So next time you buy some cherries 🍒 you know what to do! There not just for eating you can turn them into a lipstick tint too!

Enjoy!

Do you have a fruit, food or veggie beauty tip you’d like to share with me? I’d love to hear from you.

Day 10 of MY Beauty Secrets

*In case you didn’t know office pencil sharpeners WILL not work well to sharpen your eye or lip liners. They will chew up your pencil when you go to sharpen them too. They are not a quality cosmetic sharpener. They are meant to be used for lead, charcoal or colored pencils in your office. And know theses pencils will not work for your eyes. I’ve actually had a client think it was a great beauty hack. Also the pencil can cut your curves or injure your eyes and skin. It’s not a beauty hack! It’s kinda dangerous. You can get an eye infection and incur some expensive doctor visits.

Eye pencil Tip 101

*Always buy the pencil sharpener by the pencil brand you buy. They are usually made for that liner. They ALWAYS work! Others will keep on breaking when you sharpen them. As well as waste your product. Once in a blue moon another brands pencil sharpener may work BUT that does not happen often.

The beauty tools you use matter, always think like a beauty PRO. Protect those pretty eyes, Peeps!

Day 4 of My Beauty Secrets

“Tired of your bold lipstick or lip gloss running down and around your lips?”

Me too!

Invisible Lip Liner! đź‘„

As a professional makeup artist and educator in the spa and salon industry I always get asked this question.

I used to recommend a pigmented lip liner like a cherry red, sangria or a nude liner.

Nowadays not every girl wants to use a lip liner. But don’t want the feathering or bleeding (I hate to say that word) So my beauty secret is using an invisible lip liner.

It magically locks color in place. You can’t even see it when you apply it. It looks like the color of white candle wax in the pencil.

I don’t how it does it. But I use it on myself, my clients, newscasters, bridal parties and on photo shoots.

If you have this problem! Check it out. Your ❤️ the beautiful look and effect!

Invisible Lip Liner is a must! đź‘„

Time to give your hands some love!

The weather is changing around the country and I hear you. Many of you are asking what to do to help hands and fingernails look their best. You can use expensive store bought products or you can use a combination of them with a go to your kitchen twist.

Natural Hand Soak

I like to soak my hands in a bowl of warm water and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. The acid from the apple 🍏 cider vinegar gently exfoliates the skin on your hands. Do this for at least 5-10 minutes.Rinse well and wash your hands with soap and water. Apply your favorite hand and body lotion afterwards. If you have more time take it and follow my next two steps below.

I especially love to do these treatments on Sundays when I have more time now.

Next, I like to use and apply a thin coat of a hydrating FACE mask on my hands. You heard me! Face mask. Your face won’t know you’re using a face mask on your hands but the hands on your skin will know. Leave on at least 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and a washcloth. Your hands will be even more hydrated and look better too.

Please note:A mud mask or a mask for oily skin will not do. Choose a creamy moisturizing mask.

Last natural beauty hack step is organic coconut oil I highly recommend you take those clean hands and apply coconut oil to them. Rub in on the fingernail beds, cuticles and tops and bottoms of the hands.Wrap your hands in saran wrap or simply enjoy the oil alone and leave on 5 minutes and rub into the hands and all over the nails. With all the hand washing we need to do and the weather this 15 minute or more treat will have the skin on hands on your hands feeling so good.

When you’re done you can rinse your hands but I blot my hands on a paper towel and ENJOY the healthy happy hydrated glow of your skin. (Be careful your hands will be a bit slippery for a bit).

*If you are allergic to ANY of the ingredients don’t use and skip the step or substitute with something else.

Cheap and so worth the few minutes it takes to do.

Happy Self Care SUNDAY!
