I am doing a Galentine’s Day (Valentine’s Day) Workshop at IKEA in sunny Jacksonville Florida 🌴 only problem is it’s NOT so sunny. It’s been storming and it’s 90% chance of rain ☔️ today. I hope the ladies come out and play with me and not let rain get in the way.
So excited to do a Workshop at IKEA ❤️
If you’re looking for a fun DIY gift 🎁 I like to give as gifts … you’re in luck. My workshop is all about self-care and made with love.
SPA in a Jar
Here’s what you will need to make this gift:
❤️1 medium or large glass jar with a lid and a large neck so you can fill it. Decorative ribbon and other touches to embellish it. Greenery and faux or even fresh cut flowers work too. This gives it a natural and pretty touch.
❤️Things you might want to use to fill your very own SPA in Jar are:
A headband, washcloth or eco friendly washable facial rounds, sheet masks, eye gel masks.
❤️ How about some bubble bath, epsom salts, shower gel, hand lotion, a body lotion and a luxurious soap and bath sponge.
❤️ Crystals, incense, sage,Palo Santo or a mini book.
❤️ A bottle of Prosecco, mini liquor, small beer can, (optional)
❤️ A small box of candy. An apple 🍎 as an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Or you can create a mix of store bought and hand-made DIY recipes. Please note IF you are allergic to any of my recipe ingredients please do not try them.
Kiss Me Lip 👄 Polish
1 jar organic coconut oil
1 packet of sugar left in your purse from last coffee shop stop or 1/4 cup brown or white sugar. It all depends how many jars you want to make. Note: both sugars will work too.
Mix the two together with a spoon or spatula and place in a small microwave safe bowl. Warm the polish 5 seconds to melt a bit and stir again. Be careful. It will be hot. Let cool a bit.
Place mixture into a small glass or plastic jar of your choice. If you want a bigger batch double the recipe. Add a pretty lip stickers or custom label you make and it’s all set. Men and women love ❤️ thus recipe. Including my husband.
Kissable lips in minutes! This is a unisex recipe guys love it too!
❤️ Chamomile Flower Facial Steam Bath
Chamomile dried flowers- a small handful will do.
A pot of water 💦
This recipe is so easy and so gratifying. Your skin will love you back by the way it looks and feels. A relaxing detox facial steam!
Place some dried chamomile flowers in a bag and give it to the person you are gifting to. Add instructions with it. All they do is warm water to a light boil. .
Place the flowers in the water. Place a small towel over your head like a tent. Do NOT put your face in the hot water. You are simply allowing the steam to RISE up to your face. Do this for 3 or 5 minutes. If you have high blood pressure or a skin condition like Rosacea or acne please do not use this facial steam recipe.
Rose 🌹 Eye Mask
Cooling cucumbers 🥒 are refreshing and certainly you can still use them. They work! However, I love this simple aromatic eye mask. Asian Royalty and in many other times in history used them to look younger and refresh their eyes. Did you ever really feel a petal from the rose? It’s so soft and lovely to the touch. It’s known for its skin softening and feel good properties.
Pick me up … for the eyes.
1 fresh Rose rinsed please.
Rinse rose gently in water
Tear off one of the rose petals for an aromatic relaxing treat. They add a touch of moisture for your eye area.
Eyelid pillows are great but I love this nature based eye treatment.
Chill out & rest with a rose petal eye mask!
Laying down close the eyes. Place a rose 🌹 petal on each eyelid and rest the eyes. Listen to some relaxing music. Leave on your closed eyelids at least 6-10 minutes. That’s it!
I hope you enjoy these recipes! Please note…Store bought self-care products are great for your jar. However there’s nothing like a handmade and homemade creation.
Made with LOVE. ❤️
Oops! Forgot to post to my blog before I left. Update despite the rain i had an awesome crowd, workshop and morning at IKEA! Went crazy shopping in the stores food market. Had one of their awesome pretzel with their yummy dipping sauce and drive away smiling all day!
Nail care and self care have never been more important. Looking good feels good and guys want to look their best too. Manicures and pedicures are not just for the ladies. Today on TV on River City Live I am featuring a few segments to do this with ease at home. I still think to get a manicure and pedicure at the spa or salon feels and is amazing. I go with my husband monthly! He actually loves it too.
Here are my tips and tricks to giving yourself aMani & Pedi at home.
One of the main things you need to consider is setting aside time JUST FOR YOU! Don’t rush. For a manicure you will need at least 15-20 minutes for a pedicure at least 30 minutes.
If you have never had a manicure and pedicure add it to your Bucket List of Beauty or make it your monthly beauty routine. YOU owe it to yourself and your body.
Here are some basic supplies you will need:
1 bottle of Cuticle oil
1 tube of cuticle remover PEN -removes dead skin and hydrates
1 bottle of nail polish remover to start fresh- I like one called The Stripper
1 tube or jar of hand and or body lotion and a foot cream
1 clear your favorite nail polish
1 High & Dry Quick-Drying Top Coat 9 it with UVA/ UVB protection
1 emery board
1 cuticle pusher stick
*Optional- a pair of clean nippers or nail clippers
*Optional- pedicure slippers or flip flops
Here are twomethods one for a quick hand and nail fix I like to do and below that is a longer more thorough way to do a nail treatment at home.
If you are REALLY short on time and want a quick manicure fix…You gotta try the new beauty sensation Bonblissity. Like a K Beauty sheet mask does for your face this little gem candy scrub will freshen and soften up those nails, nail beds and hands. INSTANT gratification.
Simply place a candy scrub wrapped in eco-friendly great for the planet way and place the scrub in the palm of your hands.
Run the water or dip your hands into a bowl of luke warm water and get your hands and the cube wet.
Rub gently paying attention to the entire nail area and on the skin on your hands…tops and bottoms. Leave scrub on and rub some more. It is kissing your dead skin away.
Rinse well and enjoy prettier or more handsome hands in a minute!
I interviewed the hot brand used on the red carpet celebrities, Fashion Week and coveted by the girl next door. I love to support woman business owners and fellow professionals in my beauty industry. So, celebrity manicuristDeborah Lippmann was who I needed to reach out to. This brand is an Allure magazine Best in Beauty Award winner. Not easy to win. So easy to fall in love with this nail polish brand because it is Earth week even more this brand is a healthier gel alternative. Vegan polish that glides on like a pat of warm butter on toast. To keep you safe you need to look for a polish that does not contain the 10 bad for you ingredients and only use the good.
Go visit YouTube or her website for her ‘How to Give Yourself the perfect Manicure at HOME Tutorial” www.deborahlippmann.com
For a PEDICURE at Home you will need the above as well. If you do not want to use a color nail polish that is perfectly fine. Or you might consider using a clear polish instead.
EASY STEPS By Deborah Lippmann
1. Cleanse & Prep the nails and remove all polish if you had any on.
2.Exfoliate & Shape the nails of your hands and feet. Clip if necessary.
3.Perfect the cuticles and nourish with cuticle cream to follow.
4. Apply a BASE COAT. She says it will make you manicure last LONGER.
5.Add a nail polish he if you’d like a dash of color.
6.Apply a TOP COAT to protect your color choice.
7.Apply hand or foot cream, like Rich Girl hydrating hand cream with hyaluronic acid and Steppin’ Out foot cream on your feet.
Deborah Lippmann ALSO shares her tips on HOW-To polish like a PRO. Worth a look on YouTube.

Tis the season and I love to give gifts MORE than receiving them. Really! So I am sharing with you some gift ideas that are a D.I.Y. or store bought that they may just ❤️ love.
Here is an easy recipe to make a Japanese Matcha Tea face mask for yourself or someone else.
You can place the Matcha tea in a small glass jar with a recipe and tie it up with a bow or ribbon.
🍵 Or place this recipe in a gift basket with a pretty Asian style tea cup, a mini bowl for the DIY mask, a face mask brush and include a mini jar of honey and a container of Matcha tea.
Recipe for one treatment to enjoy today:
1 teaspoon of Matcha Tea
1 teaspoon of raw 🍯local honey (I love local)
🍵 Another gift idea is giving a pretty mug, a box of tea and a few of their favorite magazines or assorted magazines you know they will love ❤️ tied in a gold gorgeous ribbon. I still love print and enjoy turning the pages and exploring the magazines in my hand. I know I’m not the only one!
🍵 Give a teapot, a cup and a Beautiful Journal wrapped with a pretty pen and ready to give. Add a heartfelt note card.
🍵Give a tea scented candle with a bar of green tea soap and a luxurious sponge.
Give a few teabags from a variety of tea bag boxes and place them in a basket with some store bought or home-made tea biscuits or something yummy you know they love.
Buy them an eye mask and face mask that has TEA as the star ingredient. Add a cup with a tea bag inside for them to enjoy while they mask the day away. Aaah…the beauty of self care!
PLAY and make them a tea blend from tea leaves and flowers: to relax with,to sleep well and or invigorates them to start the day. Choose from: chamomile, lemongrass, lemon peel, lavender, rose hips and more. Recipe is one cup of water to one teaspoon of tea blend.
I hope you have some fun creating and shopping for Tea for One OR a few. It is so nice to receive a gift package that shows you care!
There is a chill in the air and that means Thanksgiving and the other holidays are near. I know you’ve heard or read it all in the news. The supply chain, shortages and more. Don’t stress I’ve got you!
I’ve discovered some unique and pretty ideas to give from hair to toe! Not just for the ladies.
CHI haircare has some new product collections for curly hair, dehydrated hair and a NEW brush that is a 3 in 1. It is a brush that smooths your hair, is a blow dryer and a styler brush for silkier looking shiny hair. I already own the Spin & Curl styler, a hot pink blow dryer by CHI
But this brush is next level fabulous!
So lightweight and easy to use! I think it is an awesome give to give to YOURSELF or someone else.
This week on TV 📺 in my beauty & lifestyle segment I will feature this brush for my holiday gift ideas and stocking stuffers.
Stay tuned for more gift ideas that I featured on TV and have discovered I will share some cool gift ideas. Some of us may also need gifts after Chanukah or Christmas in case you forgot someone on your list. Also don’t forget those hostess gifts.
Self-care is so important now more than ever! Taking care of the hair between haircuts. Conditioning it and using the right tools is what it us all about. Make that haircut and fresh color last longer.
You don’t have to pay a fortune 💵 to look your best! OR to give as a gift.
Have fun in the kitchen and whip up some face and body care. I featured these recipes on TV 📺 yesterday on River City Live on http://www.News4Jax.com

If you are allergic to any other the ingredients below. Please skip that ingredient. If you have very sensitive skin do a patch test on your inner wrist.
I have super sensitive skin. I do not have any problems with any of these delightful DIY treats. 😍
Coconut 🥥 milk by the can is so softening and gives you a healthier sheen. Use it before you shampoo and then pour a cup on your ends and rub a comb through your hair. Leave on at least 15 minutes.
Women from exotic countries love this hair trick!
Canned Coconut milk or coconut oil both work!

Local honey makes a skin softening and soothing face mask for women or men. Yes, it’s a bit messy and you might want to eat it and lick 😋 the leftovers. but it is a quick wonderful mask. Apply on clean face and leave on at least 10 minutes. I also like to do this mask on my neck.
A little honey goes a long way!

My husband likes to join in on the pampering self care fun too!
About now between the catastrophic 🌍 news on TV and horrific views this week along with COVID still with us. I still can’t believe this is happening. I too am feeling a little blue. How about you?
Let’s not allow the negativity and sadness to takeover our life. Our mental health depends on it. So, we need to listen out and hear something good and do something good for (ourselves) YOURSELF.
Light a candle! Burn some sage or aromatic incense! Meditate! Pray! 🙏
Incense smells good & purifies your space!
Do a few face and body exercises. Kiss that facial stress away!
Try a little yoga or stretching exercises. If the sun is shining your way enjoy its warmth on your face and body.
Keep moving… stretch,go walk or ride a bike.
When you get out today or get out today and buy yourself something. Anything. It could simply be a $1.00 item from the dollar store. Go find a bargain!
Just treat yourself to something NEW.
Get out of the house and not just shop online!
Get an old fashioned 🍦 ice cream, gelato, mochi or popsicles at your fave place. I miss the ice cream trucks that drove thru the neighborhood and sold all kinds of ice cream delights!
Call a friend or family member spread some ❤️ love.
Write a letter or send a few cards out to people you love and that that you miss across the country!
Sit down and write ✍️ away and send love the old fashioned way!
Book an appointment for a massage! It may be last minute but you never know they might just have an opening for you!
Guys you need a massage too! My husband and I go for one monthly. FEELs so good!
Get a mani or pedi or polish change.
Treat Yourself!!
Visit a juice shop! You know where they make it fresh squeezed! So good for you and nothing like fresh fruit or veggie juice!
Be good to yourself today. It’s been a tough week for the world!
Lately I’ve noticed women’s hands and feet. While waiting on lines, while grabbing a bite to eat or my clients at my beauty cottage.
Your hands go through sun 🌞 and environmental stressors not to mention using home cleaning products and hand sanitizer. Not just your face. So, they are dry and thirsty for attention.
Hand Mask to the rescue!
Some of you who read my blog may know by now how much I ❤️ to make pretty potions!
So here’s one for you!
One of the mask DIY recipes I like to do is right out of the kitchen. Not a product from a store shelf. This mask gently moisturizes and is applied to the top of the hands.
Easy as 1,2,3.
1 tablespoon of oats
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Mix all of the above. Add water as needed. The mask will be like a paste consistency.
Apply the mask mixture to your hands with a face mask brush or a clean pastry brush.
Leave on at least 15 minutes.
Rub your hands together another minute.
Rinse well with in the sink with a washcloth.
If you have any left over. Save it for another time. Don’t save more than a couple of days. There are no preservatives.
Follow with your favorite hand or body lotion.
You’ll have happy, softer, brighter skin on your hands.
It is a very foggy day here in Florida. The sun looks like it wants to peek in but the fog is in the way. Mother earth is talking and flowers are popping even though it is still our winter here. The flowers and birds tell me spring is on the way.
How’s life going for you? Staying safe and healthy I hope.
Today is self care Sunday. I don’t really know who started and declared it a day but I seem to always honor it and do something for my face, skin and body on Sundays. Not just the basics of skin care but do a bit more. How about you? Do you enjoy and partake of a little R&R too?
The first thing I like to do is plan a drink. It can be a pitcher of water with fruit or veggies infused.
Fill green tea in a Muslim bag, bundle in cheesecloth or paper tea filter from a gourmet or tea store.
Run a warm 🛁 water bath water .
Place the tea bundle in the bath water.
If you have muscle aches or want a bit more to the bath add some Epsom salts to the bath water.
The tea helps with stress, body aches, swelling and A just a plain tired body.
Day or night the time is right!
Remember to always make time for you as you take care of your family too. But you have to practice self care and self love ❤️ to be able to continue to take care of others. Theres only one Beautiful YOU!
