Time to Refresh …

Your sun protection.

The weather is warming 🌞 up a bit and for some of us a lot depending on where you live. It’s time to purchase two top things for sun care & protection. Get in the habit of buying a NEW sunscreen when a new season begins. Your old one will not work. Also applying and using MORE not less. Most people use too little thinking it’s going to be enough and think it’s going to be effective. Not true.

And you must reapply it especially at the beach or outside doing exercise or sports etc.

If you don’t use sunscreen/sunblock you’ll be suffering the consequences and leather like skin. The sun is loaded with vitamin D but it also can give you a 🥵 sunburn …Ouch! As well as age your skin faster.

Another purchase you need to consider is buying a good pair of sunglasses 🕶️ aka “sunnies”. Dollar store sunglasses won’t do. Protect those pretty eyes. And make sure they have lenses that are UVA and UVB protection.

Sunscreen and sunnies a winning combination!! So, stock up and remember we need to wear sunscreen every single day even on cloudy days!

Now you’re ready to get out there and get some 😎 sun. Safely!

Travel or home …Squeeze in Some ME Time!

Flight ✈️ delays, cancelled flights and attitudes of crazy travelers. It is a hot mess! I just got back from a trip and I needed these too!

Hotel Room Beauty

So when you get some time when you reach your hotel or B&B destination take a little time for you!

If you’re jet-lagged or just plain old stressed I like to travel with a sachet filled with fresh lavender buds. I make them at home and put them in a baggie and pack in my luggage.

Or you can travel with your favorite essential oil and sprinkle it on a flat cotton pad and place the sachet or cotton pad in your hotel room pillowcase. Choose from lavender, rose, lemon all will make you feel amazing. Unless of course you don’t like one or more of these.

Remember A little goes a long way.

The scent is so relaxing and soothing. Some say a scent of lavender even makes them sleep better. Sweet Dreams!

Take a warm 🛀 bath give in to a calming bath for a change. I travel with Epsom salts which my massage therapist calls a natural muscle relaxant. No sleep aides required.

Or I travel with powdered milk in a small baggies. Sprinkle a cupful or small baggie full to luke warm water. Your skin will be silky and body relaxed.

Treat your face to a fabulous and refreshing sheet face mask!

Instead of traveling with a mask in a jar travel “lighter” with a sheet mask. Korean beauties are all the rage, it’s superior quality and in 15 – 20 minutes gives your faces instant gratification.

I like to travel with a piece of fruit 🍎 and a small dark chocolate bar. Fruit like apples keep you regular especially when on the road. Both red or green apples 🍏 both work.

They say chocolate 🍫 makes you feel good and it helps you sleep better.

Travel with a few good lightweight books and or magazines. Go “old school” instead of the blue illuminating light screen. Better for your eyes. Also will help you sleep!

I like to read self-help books, cookbooks, medical books, beauty books and more!

I hope you enjoy these few note-worthy tips to enjoy and do when you are on the road for work or PLAY!

Or for Labor Day weekend too!

Take ME time seriously. You need to take care of one and only YOU!

Hot Girl Summer 🌞 Tips

Today on NBC WTLV 12 on a TV show called First Coast Living I featured some beauty and lifestyle trends and a fun beauty DIY for the summer and beyond.

Lights, cameras … action!

If you want to be “on trend” or in the know … Think PINK! Rose gold, baby pink, fuchsia pink, hot pink. There’s a pink you can wear and love 💕 waiting just for you!

You’re already seeing pink is everywhere!

In makeup, nail polish, high heels, athletic wear, clothes, fashion accessories, kitchens, bedrooms and home decor. Add some of these hues in your world too! All inspired by the new Barbie movie coming out in July! Ok if you’re not into Mattel’s Barbie craze that’s fine. But at least snatch up a few touches of this color to your style or in your home!

I have been having so much fun with the NEW CHI brand just styler. A triple barrel waver that you don’t have to do too much with. It does the styling without a long process. It doesn’t matter which way you really use it. But of course I would dry your hair and spray with a heat styling spray before you use the iron.

My fave thing about it is in a pretty in pink color! And it shuts off on its own in 1 hour. Not to worry if you accidentally forgot to shut it off. And I did! Another bonus: it’s quite universal. No matter which way you place the waver you will get the same effect! Pretty cool! 😎

Barbie Totally Hair 1.25 waver! I’ve never seen or owned a waver/ styler like it! It is the OG of them!

There are several CHI Barbie waver styles to get mermaid 🧜‍♀️ waves! My waver is a solid soft pink hue.

Pink is a pretty and uplifting color and it’s a “feel good” kind of hue.

What’s also so in are mocktails. Mocktails are the new cocktails! I recently discovered “Little Saints”a plant magic drink. Botanical Terpenes and Reishi mushrooms. They come in a variety of flavors and 0 sugar content. Contains 10 CBD. NO alchohol. Chill, Sip bring your sexy back and calm down. Enjoy these aromatic delicious mocktail.

Choose from: Spicy Margarita, Negroni Spritz, Paloma and Ginger Mule. All delicious moodlifting and mellow delights.

Good vibes only!

Created by a woman.

While you’re out having fun in the sun and sipping mocktails or cocktails…

Make an ice cube tray of Aloe Vera ice cubes. Or whole milk ice cubes. They are “Sunburn Soothers.”If you or your kiddos have lobster face and beyond.

Pull a cube out and allow it to melt it a bit in the palm of your hand. You don’t want freezer burn. Gently rub the cooling cube on your face, chest or shoulders wherever you need it. If you have any leftover. Place them back in the fridge and use them again another time .

When life gives you sunburn … try using an Aloe Vera 🧊 ice cube.

Or on a budget and can’t buy one right now? Not to worry. Noreen to the “rescue”!

Looking for a bit of a healthy glow on your face and warm up your complexion? No foundation needed. Girls or Guys can make it and use a tinted moisturizer. Jordan one of the awesome show hosts and I had so much fun 🤩 making one!

All you need for this DIY beauty recipe is:

1 tube or jar of moisturizer

1 Bronzer powder (if you happen to have a broke one even better)

1 small container

Pour some of the moisturizer in a small container.

Scrape a bit of the Bronzing Powder and place in the container. I like using a small h’orderve knife. Or a disposable mascara wand.

Mix the two together. You will have made your own tinted moisturizer. Need to make it a bit darker? Add more tanning powder. Want to lighten your mix just add a drop more of moisturizer.

Stir again and place in a small jar or bottle.

Apply to your clean face staying away from eye area. Guys love to use this hack too… including my husband!

Come back for one more tip this weekend on what I shared on TV 📺 a summer 🌞 beauty tip you don’t want to miss!

My Summer beauty tips from TV …

Here comes summer 😎 and many warm days of fun in the sun. I love the summertime and all the outdoor fun, food and drinks of the season. I recently featured on my beauty & lifestyle segment on TV some tips you need to know.

Here is a peek on what I shared with the TV 📺 viewers just for you! Enjoy!

1. Everyone no matter what their color needs 🌞sunscreen, sunglasses 🕶 and lips 👄 protected with a lip balm too. I recently discovered a cool tool called “Solar Buddies” it is an application tool that helps you apply sunscreen with ease. Even children can use it and apply sunscreen by themselves. Just fill it and roll on your face with your fave sunscreen and go!

2. Wearing perfume and spending time at the beach 🏖 on your patio or backyard barbeque can cause sunspots. You know those pesky brown areas that come out of nowhere. Avoid wearing fragrance when spending time in the sun.

3. Your sexy shiny lipglosses or new “Lip Oils“ are not good to wear while sunbathing or hanging in the sun. They attract and reflect the suns rays especially by water or on a sandy beach. Wear a lip balm or sheer lipstick instead.

4. Sunglasses 🕶 are not just for celebrities. We need them too. Not just to protect the skin around our eyes but the eyes themselves. Squinting gives you wrinkles on your eye area and face. Find a few pair of sunglasses and wear them year round.

5. Stay hydrated but not with drinks like Margaritas 🍹etc and lemonade or citrus drinks they can make the skin more vulnerable to a sunburn and not so pretty sunspots. Lemons 🍋 don’t play well on your skin or hair while spending time in the sun!

6. Let’s have have some fun and make a DIY or beauty hack you’ll love! It is a so easy to make and cheaper than buying it.

Simply take a loose shimmery eyeshadow or a shadow that broke into pieces. Place it in a mini bowl and mix it in with some hand cream or body lotion. Preferably without a fragrance. You’ll create a gorgeous glowy lotion for your face shoulders, decolette, arms and legs. Really works and moisturizes your skin too! Say “Hello Gorgeous!”

On the go? Give your Lipsticks 💄 some …

Much needed attention. Your cosmetic bag is longing to be touched!

Stranded at the airport, waiting in the car 🚘 pool line or even at home. Use your time wisely and give your lipsticks some LOVE.

Grab those lipsticks & quickly disinfect them!

If you happen to get a Purell wipes, towelettes from a restaurant after your meal or have some rubbing alcohol disinfectant pads. get out your lipstick tubes and lipgloss wands and disinfect those tubes!

It’s kind of satisfying and fun to do!

1. Take the top off.

2. Roll up those tubes. Be gentle not all the way. Only up to where you’ve used the tube.

3. Swipe and wipe the lipstick itself all around.

4. Next wipe the tube packaging itself. You know lots of germs 🦠 are waiting for you there too.

5. Allow them to evaporate and dry and close the lids.

You’re all set, a quick disinfect and good to go! Safely! Protect those pretty lips!

* A great idea after you have a cold or a fever blister too!

Breast Cancer isn’t just a female thing!

💕

MEN can get it too!

So don’t forget to tell your sweetie to get himself checked out too. Lumps in the breast aren’t normal.

And how about you?

Have you had a mammography or at least check your breasts too?

YOU matter! Stay well and on top of your health too.

And just a reminder. I had Breast Cancer but not in the breast but ON the breast. It was Squamous cell carcinoma. Mayo performed Mohs surgery on me for hours. It was a bit deep. They said it’s not common. So watch out for raised spots or dark dots, reddish spots that suddenly appear on your skin.

Be aware and beware!

Self-Care Sunday …Hand Mask

Lately I’ve noticed women’s hands and feet. While waiting on lines, while grabbing a bite to eat or my clients at my beauty cottage.

Your hands go through sun 🌞 and environmental stressors not to mention using home cleaning products and hand sanitizer. Not just your face. So, they are dry and thirsty for attention.

Hand Mask to the rescue!

Some of you who read my blog may know by now how much I ❤️ to make pretty potions!

So here’s one for you!

One of the mask DIY recipes I like to do is right out of the kitchen. Not a product from a store shelf. This mask gently moisturizes and is applied to the top of the hands.

Easy as 1,2,3.

1 tablespoon of oats

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Mix all of the above. Add water as needed. The mask will be like a paste consistency.

Apply the mask mixture to your hands with a face mask brush or a clean pastry brush.

Leave on at least 15 minutes.

Rub your hands together another minute.

Rinse well with in the sink with a washcloth.

If you have any left over. Save it for another time. Don’t save more than a couple of days. There are no preservatives.

Follow with your favorite hand or body lotion.

You’ll have happy, softer, brighter skin on your hands.

What’s your favorite way to enjoy chocolate?

Kisses 💋 from Las Vegas!

I’m in beautiful and always fabulous Vegas! The heat is on. The other day it was 116 degrees.

Have you ever been?

Today I guest spoke at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference show. I had a sold out crowd! I so LOVE what I do!

💋

Anyone who is anyone in beauty and hair is here! It is so exciting. I have missed guest speaking since Covid. But it’s beginning to look like a sense of normalcy and happiness!

The show floor was filled to the brim with so many booths. I attended a few classes and shopped and explored. I’m exhausted.

Tonight we had dinner at a delicious place called Orchids Gardens. They serve all kinds of Dim Sum 🥟 all day. I have been going to this place for years.

I’m taking notes 📝 and checking out all that I can and that is trending!

So please … Stay tuned. The time zone for me is a 3 hour difference and I’m starting to fade. Im going to take a bubble bath 🛀 and relax.

Then, I’m joining my husband for a cocktail 🍸 and eating a box of chocolates together in bed.

Sweet Dreams!
