Hi Handsome!

I get it. Guys want to look good too!

Today on River City Live TV in sunny Florida I am sharing a few answers to viewers skincare and lifestyle questions.

You can watch a video clip and read MORE on http://www.News4Jax.com after they post it on their site after the show. Click River City Live.

But here are some highlights from my beauty report:

Guys especially bearded ones are looking for a rescue for razor bumps on the face and neck. I found a great new product to help with that. It is washable and reusable.

They are called the Dermasuri’s Face & Neck Exfoliator for Bearded Men. This mitt helps prevent ingrown hairs and razor bumps.

Both of these mitts are made with a unique and gentle fabric texture to wash and exfoliate the face. All you need is hot water and this and you’re on your way to better looking skin!

Healthy skin is so in!

The other is their Deep Exfoliating Mitt Face Scrub. You may use daily or a few times a week.

Got acne? I’d go for a washcloth and a gentle face cleanser.

Do I really need a sunscreen? I work indoors and do not spend a lot of time outdoors. Just running errands or taking a quick walk in the neighborhood gives you sun. The sun is always on! Rain or shine.

Yes, everyone needs a sunscreen to shield themselves from the harmful sun 🌞 rays!

Rain or shine or shine it is always on!

Time to Shine a Light on …

Asian American Pacific Islander month.

Heading into the long Memorial Weekend is a great to time to unwind…I want to share a few fun ideas and ways to celebrate the month of May.

May is Asian American Pacific Islander month.

There are many beauty brands that you can explore when you surf and shop online over the weekend.

It is also Skin Cancer Awareness month. A great time to visit the beach or for outdoor activities. Make sure you wear sunglasses outdoors and slather on sunscreen and protect your families skin too. The new spray sunscreens like AAPI founder of the Banish brand Daisy Jing created a product called The Defender a mineral sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF50 an easy choice to use.

Cook up a storm this weekend!

This long weekend is also a great time to curl up to a good book on the beach and or in bed and learn something new. New York Times best-selling author Kimberly Snyder has just launched a book You Are More Than You Think You Are -filled with  Practical Enlightenment for Everyday Life.

Chef and TV co-host of The Good Dish TV show Daphne OZ has a new cookbook called Eat Your Heart Out. I am in love ❤️ with this cook book.

She calls it a “reset yourself” kind of book I call it delicious and FUN! Healthier meal recipes for the whole family. Yummy snacks and delights too.

Cook up a storm this weekend and enjoy a delicious weekend and add a new cookbook to your kitchen library. Easy read and easy healthier recipes too.

*While these authors are not Asian they do have unique books to buy and enjoy over the weekend, summer and beyond.

Give yourself, your sweetie or bestie a “Self-care” at home treat or two:

The Qi a wellness brand rooted in a time-honored Eastern ritual. AAPI founder Lisa created an aromatic wonderful brand of TEA that is a flower tea. NO tea bag. No tea leaves.

Who knew sipping whole flowers 🌸 was possible and so pleasurable?

My favorites so far are Shangri-La Rose and Chrysanthemum.

Vegan, sustainably sourced,no preservatives.hand-picked,organically grown they work directly with small family farms across Asia.

Sipping tea will never be the same for you!

ESW Beauty founded by Elina Wang just launched new and UNIQUE raw juice cleanse face masks.

Kale, spinach, pineapple, kiwi, ginger, pear, watermelon and more. They have a variety of delights for your skin.

Deep Detox those Pores, Brightening,Moisturizing, Soothing and more.

Beia Beauty
has new wipes to keep you fresh all summer long founded by Brittany Lo. Great for travel.

Have a fun and relaxing long holiday weekend this Memorial 🇺🇸 Day!

Tis’ the season to start shopping!

There is a chill in the air and that means Thanksgiving and the other holidays are near. I know you’ve heard or read it all in the news. The supply chain, shortages and more. Don’t stress I’ve got you!

I’ve discovered some unique and pretty ideas to give from hair to toe! Not just for the ladies.

CHI haircare has some new product collections for curly hair, dehydrated hair and a NEW brush that is a 3 in 1. It is a brush that smooths your hair, is a blow dryer and a styler brush for silkier looking shiny hair. I already own the Spin & Curl styler, a hot pink blow dryer by CHI

But this brush is next level fabulous!

So lightweight and easy to use! I think it is an awesome give to give to YOURSELF or someone else.

This week on TV 📺 in my beauty & lifestyle segment I will feature this brush for my holiday gift ideas and stocking stuffers.

Stay tuned for more gift ideas that I featured on TV and have discovered I will share some cool gift ideas. Some of us may also need gifts after Chanukah or Christmas in case you forgot someone on your list. Also don’t forget those hostess gifts.

Self-care is so important now more than ever! Taking care of the hair between haircuts. Conditioning it and using the right tools is what it us all about. Make that haircut and fresh color last longer.

You don’t have to pay a fortune 💵 to look your best! OR to give as a gift.

I love chocolate! How about you?

So many ways to enjoy it too!

A sexy perfume, a chocolate 🍫 bar,a chocolate cupcake or cake, a chocolate cocktail, a chocolate scented body lotion, a chocolate scented candle and more!

What’s your favorite way to enjoy chocolate?

Kisses 💋 from Las Vegas!

I’m in beautiful and always fabulous Vegas! The heat is on. The other day it was 116 degrees.

Have you ever been?

Today I guest spoke at the International Esthetics Cosmetics and Spa Conference show. I had a sold out crowd! I so LOVE what I do!

💋

Anyone who is anyone in beauty and hair is here! It is so exciting. I have missed guest speaking since Covid. But it’s beginning to look like a sense of normalcy and happiness!

The show floor was filled to the brim with so many booths. I attended a few classes and shopped and explored. I’m exhausted.

Tonight we had dinner at a delicious place called Orchids Gardens. They serve all kinds of Dim Sum 🥟 all day. I have been going to this place for years.

I’m taking notes 📝 and checking out all that I can and that is trending!

So please … Stay tuned. The time zone for me is a 3 hour difference and I’m starting to fade. Im going to take a bubble bath 🛀 and relax.

Then, I’m joining my husband for a cocktail 🍸 and eating a box of chocolates together in bed.

Sweet Dreams!

I had a Dermaplane Facial and…

I discovered a skin care place on Instagram in the town I live in and wanted to get a facial.

I usually get my facials all over when I travel in and out of the states. Some people tour museums I tour and enjoy spas and different cultures for beauty, customs and food. I so LONGED for one. I have not had a facial since days before the pandemic arrived. I chose this facial place not from reviews but because of the name Happy Face Skin Care. How cute! And since happiness is my happy place as I choose the sunny 🌞 side of life I decided this is where I wanted to go.

I do have a daily beauty and skincare regime and also give myself at home facials but they are NOT the same as seeing a PRO. If you’ve gone for facials you know what i mean.

Once I arrived and got cozy in the esthetician and owners facial bed I was told that by her that facials were TREATMENT based facials not perse relaxing spa type facials.

I never went to a spa that did that. She examined my skin a bit and got to cleansing and double cleansing and made sure my skin was very very clean.

She prepped my skin meticulously. She asked me questions of a personal nature and saw I was open to chatting and not falling asleep during the facial. Good thing to know a true beauty PRO does not kiss and tell. Your privacy and what you say in that room and your skin is very important to them. They respect your privacy.

By the way, I have never fell sleep myself but like a massage some people DO fall asleep in the middle of the treatment. This facial and place was not that type of facial. She had a nice gentle touch but the facial was not the usual facial experience you think of.

No shoulder massage. No hand and foot massage and placed in heated mittens and booties. Just an aromatic candle and her skilled hands. Because the owner had troubled skin growing up she developed a passion for skin care and decided this was the career she wanted. Angie Pablo really loves what she does and it shows!

While I know about Dermaplaning I do not do this service. Again you always want to see a PRO.

Here’s what I discovered.

Dermaplaning is safe and painless. It is a cosmetic/facial procedure that removes the top layers of your skin to hopefully reveal a brighter, smooth youthful look. The results they say last only a few weeks.

Dermaplaning does NOT remove wrinkles and years of sun damage.

You will not leave with a red inflammed face from it or any of her extractions. Sometimes the esthetician may knick your skin but that heals fast from it sort of is like when a man shaves.

Have you ever had a facial or a Dermaplaning Facial? Do tell and share your thoughts!

I liked my Dermaplaning Facial treatment and am happy I tried it. I look forward to going back to this happy calming place again.

PS

If you have sensitive or very sensitive skin, active acne, rosacea and psoriasis it can worsen these conditions.

Day 8 of MY Beauty Secrets

I’m crazy for all things … Coconut!

Once a week I devote to a bath 🛁 with coconut oil. I take off my clothes. Slather on warm melted coconut oil on my body. Tonight was that night. I feel so amazing. Refreshed.

I apply coconut oil like hand and body lotion. You must be careful not to slip or fall. But so worth it! Remember a little goes a long way.

Next, I dip my toes and body into a warm water 💦 drawn bath. I relax around 10 minutes. I sip coconut water in a plastic goblet and enjoy the luxurious silky coconut oil bath.

Then I rinse slightly and step out of the tub.

I wrap my body in my luxe white fluffy robe with a giant set of lips 💋 on it.

I apply white socks on the 🥥 coconut oil feet. And then I go to sleep.

This is a super soft body treat. You’ll wake up with baby soft skin.

Try it! You’ll love ❤️ it.

Sweet Dreams Darling

Are you Sleepless in Seattle like me? I find a lot of us are. This pandemic isn’t very pretty and a bit stressful too.

So here are a few tips I use or have started to use to get better sleep that I find are working and make me look better when I wake up too.

Drinking tea like Chamomile or Holy Basil are calming to the nervous system and great to enjoy a cup an hour or so before you go to bed.

Buy fresh lavender online and get some muslin or organza bags you can find at the craft or Dollar store. Make yourself some fresh lavender bud sachets. Place in pillowcase or hang from the bed post. The soothing and calming scent will make you feel relaxed. You can even make an eye mask with them if you like to sew.

Take a bath…Especially if you are a shower guy or gal. Baths are miracle workers and can really settle you down after a long day. Even more so now. Use Epsom salts and add a few drops of jojoba and lavender oil. I like the brand called Aura Cacia. Did you know they even make lavender tea? So delightful to the tongue and to your spirits.

If you want to refresh tired feet soak them in a water basin and give them a bath with a few drops of peppermint oil.

Discover Spongelle... it is a hand wash buffer sponge that gives you  at least 40 hand washings and sanitizes too. More effective at removing germs and dirt than soap alone. The best part it has aromatherapy like ThymeTea Tree Oil. You can use it in a bath,in the shower or hand washing. You can even travel with it. Since we need to wash our hands often and haven’t been able to get manicures. I love to use this to keep clean especially for behind the finger nails. I’ve cut my nails back and love how clean and soft yet not dry my hands are.

A good nights sleep I think also requires clean pretty sheets and a lush BETTER  pillow. I found a pillow that is great to not only sleep with but helps with sleep wrinkles,Morning puffiness and marks. Bye Bye puffy face when you wake up in the morning!

Sleep and Glow  is designed with your face in mind! And is the brand and I can’t wait for you to check it out too.

Make a nightly SLEEP ritual… and I wish you Sweet Dreams!

This week I featured these tips on River City Live on TV here in Jacksonville Florida. The video is available below and or on YouTube too.

Don’t forget this beauty tip!

My sister called me upset.

She had pink eye (or so she thinks) she said her eyes 👀 were kind of closed shut!!! For days!

She like me is in love with a good black eyeliner applied to the inner rim of the eye for definition.

I asked her if she used anything new?

She said no just the same gel eyeliner I get from you! I asked is she sharpening it on a regular basis and she said yes. I also professionally recommended to her to wash her pencil sharpener regularly and she shouted ” What?” “WASH my eyeliner pencil sharpener?”

She told me in all her life she never ever washed it.” Do you really mean I need to wash it?” This sister is older than me and an artist and fashion illustrator. I couldn’t believe she does not do it yet treats her art supplies and palettes 🎨 like gold.

Needless to say, I just mailed her a new sharpener for her eyeliners. I encouraged her to book an appointment with her dermatologist or M.D.

Here’s my simple recipe to disinfect your eye 👁 and lip pencils.

And by the way, you need a different one for each type product. You can’t use the same one. You don’t want lip pigment in your eye area and you don’t want a dark eye liner around your lips when you apply lipliner. Get it?

What you will need:

1 bottle of Dawn dish washing liquid

1 box of alcohol wipe pads from the drug store.

Pointed Q-Tips

Soak your sharpeners in soapy water. Pull out of the sink.

Next take a Q-tip and place it into the hole. And clean all around the area inside and on the backside. There will be pencil residue all in there.

Next, I rinse it and get any Q-Tip residue out the sharpener if there is any.

Then I wipe down with an alcohol pad. Or you can use anti-bacterial wipes. Do not rinse afterwards.

Allow the sharpener to dry. You’re disinfected and ready to go.

If you want to be even more sanitary. Use SterileLight and place it on the sanitizing case. Check them out on Instagram.

*NEVER share sharpeners or eye makeup or any makeup for that matter.

Be careful, clean and safe girls! Your eyes need TLC attention. Not worth losing your eyesight over. Germs are all around us!

Mist Up!

I love facial mists they make my skin feel awesome and dewy…giving it a glow. Great for all skin types but… especially good for dry or aging skin. You will too!

Here is one of my favorites anti-oxidant rich and skin loving.

What you will need to make this recipe:

1 4-ounce spray bottle

1 teaspoon of organic rosehip oil

selective focus photo of bottle with cork lid

10 drops of lavender essential oil

4 drops of  Rose Absolute oil

composition of cosmetic bottle with pink rose petals and wooden plate

Photo by Karolina Grabowska on Pexels.com

3 1/12 ounces of distilled water.

Place in a bottle with a spray. I prefer glass if possible. And I enjoy the brand Aura Cacia for some of these products.

This face mist may be used over or under your makeup. Use don’t just let it sit on your beauty counter. Shelf life is about a month. Hint: My husband loves it too. So refreshing and the lavender makes you relaxed.

Do you have a DIY recipe you’d like to share with me? Please DO.
