As a professional makeup artist I am often asked what does an eyelash curler really do?
My answer is always the same it is like “boob job” for your lashes! It also opens up your tired looking eyes. Yes, that mere crimping can do wonders even if you have sparse natural lashes.
The RIGHT lash curler is what you need for bright, big awake eyes.
Lets’s go shopping for one!
Here’s what to look for in a eye 👁 lash curler.
Please stay clear of a plastic eyelash curler. They are less flexible and tend to break easy.
Look for a padded rubber one not just all metal. This ensures and cushions to curl not simply bend the lashes.
Choose wide handles that fit your thumb and middle finger to move with ease and move and curl lashes comfortably.
Pump curler at least 5 or 10 and make that curl happen. Or I like to count to 10 before I let go. Don’t rush!
* Please note: you can pull out and lose your eye lashes if you aren’t careful.
Never put mascara on and then curl your lashes. That is a disaster waiting to happen. It too tugs on lashes and your lashes will stick and web together. Not a good look!
Wash and disinfect your eyelash curler at least once a week. Bacteria 🦠 and old makeup adheres to them and you can get pink eye or worse. Keep it clean!
Lastly keep your mascara fresh too. Dermatologists and the beauty trade recommends replacing USED mascara every 3-4 months. No longer, Darlings!
Be safe! Protect those pretty eyes!
