Mom’s To Be and new Mommy’s I hope you will love these tips!

• Choose a simple skin care line for your skin type. Seek a beauty professional for their recommendations if possible. If your skin is acting up with breakouts even more so. If you really have issues consult your dermatologist.
• Add a probiotic dietary supplement your beauty routine. Beauty from the inside out. Ask your doctor first if you’d like.I highly recommend Flora Prenatal Probiology by Belle +Bella.
• Use a tinted moisturizer and skip the foundation or use a lighter formula powder foundation.

• Think about using clear mascara that defines lashes but with no color.
• Buy multi-tasking makeup brushes. One’s that are two or four brushes in one. You don’t need to use a 12 pc. collection/brush set.

• It is not just about applying  stretch mark cream or vitamin e oil. YOU want to smell good and have softer skin too! Instead of a perfume or cologne choose a double duty product like a hand and body lotion with a touch of fragrance. (and you’ll be washing your hands a lot too) Both a win/win. Happy NATIONAL Lipstick Day,Gorgeous!

 

What a wonderful day! Celebrating National Lipstick Day!

Those of you who follow my blog  know I am addicted to magazines and all things lips! At any given time I can have up to 6 to 10 lipsticks in my handbag or maybe a gloss and a lip balm too. I never know what girl I feel like each day sometimes throughout the day. That is why I carry a collection of my gal pals with me.

Here is my point of view as a beauty professional and makeup artist on lipstick!

These days there are no rules on what color you should buy.

Today ANYTHING goes. If you feel good in it. Wear it!!!

When choosing lipsticks always remember:

• The darker the lipstick you choose the smaller your lips will appear.
• If your lips are fuller choose a medium to deep shade to make them look smaller.
• To make lips look larger choose a light,medium to shimmery shade.
• To highlight the lips and give a sexier pout choose a lighter hue with a sparkle,glitter or frost.
• Don’t forget a lip liner is not a lipstick! If it was it would be called a lipstick. Lip liner gives shape and definition to the lips. If you use it as a lipstick all the time it will make your lips chapped,peel and very dry. Ouch! Not a good look.
• To make your lipstick last longer apply a Lipstick Base on your lips first.Think of it  like a foundation for your lips.
•  If you want your lipstick to stay in place try an invisible lip liner.
•  Don’t try more than  3 or 4 lipstick when shopping. The skin on your lips will reflect that.
• Try not to test lipstick on the top of your hands. Turn your hand over and test drive them on the fuller part of your palm near your wrist and at your thumb. That section is more like your lips.
• Next time you go shopping for lipstick and makeup. Buy a hue that you would never buy for you! It just may be your fav’ color yet!

Schools Out! What can you do with…

…Your daughter or granddaughters?

Summer is still here and your daughters and grand daughters are still out of school.

Here are a few fun things to do with them this summer!

Today I shared on TV what you can do and how much fun it can be!

• Bonding time:Do a little makeup at home day. Show them how to apply a little lipstick or gloss,a blush,nail polish and or a bit of glitter. A little goes a long way.

• Show them how to take care of their hair or braid the hair …Barbie Hair conditioner for detangling works wonders!
• Teach them that SUNSCREEN is a best kept beauty secret! Protecting their face and body from the sun is very important.Use dolls as demo’s.
• Enjoy making or serving yummy refreshments like fruit infused water,pretty pink lemonade,candy,Pez and or yummy  pink cupcakes.Make it like a beauty party!
• Another fun idea is:To show them how they can write a story book and they are the main character.All they need is an empty unlined notebook and some markers  or crayons. Encourage them to be creative.
• Princess Patch Parties is  a local company if you’re lucky enough to live in Jacksonville Florida in the Murray Hill section of town that offers birthday and mini spa parties with facials and a little mani & pedi outing. • Lip gloss D.I.Y. with you and or their friends with a MINI bar of Hershey’s chocolate or some crushed up candy mixed with a  dash of OrganIc coconut oil from Whole Foods Market. You will need to assist children with this in the microwave for a few minutes. What you’ll have is a shiny,lip softening lip gloss.No it won’t last you’ll watch them lick it off and laugh the afternoon away.

A Pretty Yummy D.I.Y….

So can I mention how truly crazy busy I am especially this time of year? I know you are too…

I so wanted to post but my retail business has us helping Santa 8-10 hour days!!!

We are shipping glam galore. But I wanted to post something on my blog timely that you might want to make or do with your daughter,grand daughter or sister.

I truly LOVE  to D.I.Y. over the holidays especially. They make perfect gifts for YOU or for someone else! This Candy Cane Kisses lip gloss recipe can be made with traditional candy canes and with Jelly Belly flavored candy canes.They are so colorful and yummy!

What you will need is:

1 CANDY CANE

1/4 cup of fresh organic coconut oil (Or you can use Vaseline)

Simply smash the candy cane on the kitchen counter.

Put the above a few pieces of candy and a scoop of coconut oil in a microwaveable bowl.

Place in a microwave and melt them both.

Stir well.

Pull out and let it cool on the counter but before it hardens…

Scoop the two up and place in a small  jar.

What you’ll have is an awesome yummy candy cane FLAVORED lip gloss.

*FYI if you prefer to make a peppermint balm infused with a stronger flavor of peppermint add a drop of food grade peppermint oil.I love adding a few of the smashed pieces inside.Fun to look at and festive.

The coconut oil feels amazing on the lips.And softens the lips. The delicious refreshing mint or Jelly belly flavors and colors make it even more fun!

Got left over candy canes?

Never fear there is so much to do with them my dears!

Smash them in their wrapper and rim your hot cocoa mugs with them for a peppermint twist.

Break them in pieces and place them in a bowl filled with good quality vanilla ice cream. What you’ll have is a yummy candy cane ice cream on the cheap.

Rim the broken and crushed candy canes,dip in lemon juice and watch them stick around the rim of a cocktail glass. Pour your favorite cocktail inside.

Bake sugar cookies and place a few peppermint crumbles on top before they fully cook in the oven.Be careful when you do it but enjoy this tasty cookie twist.

Grab your nieces,sisters,mom,grandchildren or BFF and make a DIY a Candy Cane lip gloss!

Recipe:

1/2 small candy cane crushed into mini pieces

1 tiny 1/2 drop of food grade peppermint flavoring.

1 mini or small plastic or glass jar

1 scoop of Vaseline (or Organic coconut oil)

Stir all of these together and place in the container.

Apply with lip brush and or your finger.Your lips will feel and look softer and the minty flavor will taste awesome.

If you have breast cancer…or any cancer

Here are some tips to make you feel a little better and to look beautiful. I hope you enjoy them and will use them.

Your skin will go through many changes. Take time for a quick shopping trip to update your beauty regime.Use a skin care regime that is more hydrating.Chemo and other treatments will make your skin drier.

Even if you are not a lipstick,lip gloss or lip balm girl …you will definitely NEED something on your lips to keep them moisturized. Be READY for kissing and look better too.

There is NOTHING like a little color on your face.
Some days you may not feel like it and must simply stay in bed but the times you feel up to it… It can be as simple as 1,2,3.
You don’t have to use foundation. Use a tinted moisturizer.Perk up your eyes with a little eyeshadow or eyeliner.Add some blush to your face. Forehead,cheeks and chin.If you want the feel of mascara…use CLEAR mascara.

TREAT YOURSELF to something like a luscious pink nail polish like OPI’s MOD FOR YOU!

Use an organic/vegan body lotion or hand cream that makes you feel pretty,smells YUMMY and makes you feel good.If you are not into much fragrance at this time use a fragrance free one or even olive oil or coconut oil will do the trick.

Oh the many moods and ways your body will change.If you are always HOT. I have been hot flashing since I was 5 years old. I am almost always HOT. Cancer is a sneaky disease and a club I too did not want to join. I did not want to be invited.PLEASE do yourself and your family a favor.Get a skin care exam for a check up all of your body for skin cancer (starting as a teenager)

Get a mammogram if you are of age or your doctor recommended.Preventative maintence makes you prettier and live longer.
Just a reminder MEN get breast cancer too.Remind him to go for a check-up!
